Hi I have had JPs get rss feed successfully installed for years, feeding just one website newsfeed. And now I have been asked to get another feed from another website to go in a different page. I cant see anywhere in the JP plugin dashboard where it allows another rss feed to be loaded?
If not possible, do I have to find another plugin, to do that 2nd feed? But will more than one rss plugin cause a conflict with JPs Get RSS feed plugin?
thanks
Gill
The plugin has stopped working after WordPress update 4.5. It simply doesn’t output anything at all, not even the “plugin is disabled” HTML comment. Is this a known issue and is there a way to fix it?
I’ve tried deactivating/reactivating plugins, clearing browser cache and plugin cache.
Thanks!
Franz
I mainly use this for adding linkrolls from Delicious to a blog page. They now place an advert as the first item which is not what I want.
Can you add a startfrom parameter to the plugin so that what is displayed can be controlled in combination with the numitems parameter?
Hi,
is there a way to format title/description? In my output the description follows the title string without a single space. I would like to have the title bold formatted (no link), than linefeed, then descripton.
Is this possible?
Thank you!

Hello, it looks like a hyphen is being added inside every li tag and I can’t seem to find where to remove this.
Any chance of an update or fix to work with 4.0? Thanks.
The feed does not show when trying to place feeds from the same site in articles and pages.
how do you make that work?

I was hoping the most recent update would fix the issue, but it seems it is still broken.
When I enable the date to be displayed in my feed, I receive an error on the page.
Warning: date() expects parameter 2 to be long, string given in /(directory path goes here)/functions.php on line ###
I’ve created a test page here: https://www.therealmonline.org/my-thoughts/
On that page, I used the following shortcode:
[jp-rss-feed opennewwindow=false url=https://www.therealmonline.org/category/my-thoughts/feed/ dateshow=true dateposition="after" dateformat="l, F j, Y"]
Also, if you’ll notice, in addition to the date issue, the links continue to open in a new window despite me attempting to turn that option off both in the settings area of the plugin and in the shortcode.
Is there a known bug? The feeds did work fine and now all of a sudden there is no feed shown any longer. My feed URL is correct, but the feed items simply disappeared without any changes from my side.

Hello,
Simple and efficient plugin, thanks for your work.
I saw your answer to the “show date using short code” question, but my problem still is:
. People want to have the information without having to hover the title,
. Date & time are not localization ready (non English readers are penalized).
Possible improvement that should help:
. Date shortcode,
. Time shortcode (because not necessary for RSS feeds with a few entries per day),
. Both of them localization ready (.pot file).
Your opinion ?
I just upgraded to 1.5.0 and now the feed no longer works using the shortcode.
I am running PHP 5.4.x and the latest version of WordPress.
Hello,
Could you take a look at this thread.
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-500-after-plugins-updates
It seems that line #664 in your plugin code (v1.4.9) cause an error in the log file, and (if this is related) an error 500 that make the whole site unavailable. I had to rename the plugin folder to be able to make the site back on track and regain access to the WP admin.
Your help and follow up would be appreciated (here or on the other thread).
Thanks!
I need to specify settings in shortcode only, not using settings page, so I set the default URL to blank on the settings page, but then the feed will not populate.
Shortcode is [jp-rss-feed rss=”https://atgstores.com/account/WishlistFeed.aspx?id=76169&CustomerId=3681326″ numitems=”200″ getdesc=”true” opennewwindow=”true” postlinkoptional=”true” cachetime=”300″]
If I paste the feed url in the settings page, the rest of the shortcode works fine. If I take out the feed url from settings (but leave it in shortcode of course), the feed doesn’t populate. Please advise.
Hi there – how do I display the date of each post in the shortcode?

Hello!
Great plugin. Just wanted to ask if you have any idea why some posts are not showing up in my feed? A few of the first ones don’t show.
I’m reading this:
https://www.mojaobcina.si/rss-dogodki/vransko
To this page (bottom right below calendar):
https://vransko.si/
Thanks a lot for your time and plugin!
I have a question:
This feed he can not read; https://www.dokterdokter.nl/gezondheid/bewegen/feed/
But it can read this; https://www.kidra-webdesign.nl/feed/
Can you take a look at it?
Regards,
Kim
It could be that there is an easy way to do this via short code or editing the php/css, but it would be neat if this was an option on the plugin settings. If I don’t figure out how to do it myself via coding I will be forced to use a different plugin that has this option in its settings or support page. Otherwise I love this plugin!
I don’t want the title of the post to link to the RSS feed URL.
Just display the feed contents.
Is this possible?
Logged out users see nothing. After logging in there’s the RSS feed. I called it in my template like this;
<?php echo do_shortcode("[jp-rss-feed]"); ?>

It would be nice to be able to write a template in the admin section that consisted of something like:

<ul class='%UL_CLASS%">

<-a- href="%POST_LINK">%POST_TITLE%</-a->

%POST_DESCRIPTION%

Then users would be able to wrap the relevant variables in their own html or use the default if they’d like.
Hi! I have this plugin running (great, I might add!) on a site, but all the RSS items are bunched up together, whereas in the actual feed, they are spaced out nicely. How can I add spacing to the elements when they’re displayed on the page?

That’s the page I’m using it on.
Hi, hoping you can help.
I have the plug in installed with the newest version of WordPress and JP. It’s not pulling new content from the tumblr I’d assigned it to using the CSS. Any direction would be appreciated. Also, I’m new to this type of plug in so I apologize in advance. Thank you.
I added that simple short code in my post, after activating the plugin and entering in the settings, providing the correct url to get rss from, changed to 750 characters but my post page upon viewing it was blank, I cleard cache too.
So went back to read your notes again, and because I am not a developer I didnt really understand how to add this extra code to the function.php, I blundered into the bottom of function.php and added
if (function_exists(‘jp_get_rss_feed_items’)) {
jp_get_rss_feed_items(array(
‘url’ => “https://somefeed.com/rss”,
‘numitems’ => 10,
‘cssclass’ => ‘myclass’,
‘getdesc’ => true,
‘show’ => true
));
}
but it returned this error, now my site is broken and even though I removed the code, saved again, it still is broken, I cant see any lined rows so I cant locate where the error is.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/webde115/public_html/test1/wp-content/themes/esplanade/functions.php on line 2129
Are there any other plugins that post rss from external sites because your one doesnt work? thanks
