I am going to remove the JW Player plugin from my site , There are some questions about removing the plugin , below :

1 . Is it safe to remove the plugin ?
2 . Does the plugin delete its database tables automatically after removing the plugin ?
If not , please let me know where the database tables of the plugins stores its data to delete them manually ?

I have been using this plugin for years, I had to remove version 6 due to security issues, and now it turns out that 7 no longer accepts the short code [jwplayer file=https://s3.amazonaws.com/{actual path redacted to publish in the forum} ]

What can I do so I can use the new version and the shortcode works as it should?

After installing the plugin, I added my cloud-hosted player library URL.

The fields on the admin page change to show me fields for API Credentials — but these fields are disabled because this is a premium feature. OK.

I navigate to a post in order to test the plugin. In the JW Player for WordPress meta box, the “Choose” button doesn’t work because API credentials are required to use that tool.

I attempt to use “Add URL” instead, using a direct link to the MP4 in my JW Player media library. When viewing the page, I receive fatal PHP errors because there is no image present. Back in the meta box, I click “show options” to find that the Video poster image field is disabled, because that is a premium feature.

Next, I see on this www.ads-software.com plugin page that shortcodes like [jwplayer fPHnET5D] are supported, so I attempt to use that with my video ID. Nothing happens.

What is the point of this plugin? I installed it to see whether JW Player and the premium WordPress plugin would be an option for my company, but I’m left with little confidence that this tool will provide the reliability required.

I have a JWPlayer account and using the plugin I can play video from JWPlayer just fine. Now I am trying to add a live stream from AWS Interactive Video Service which serves up an m38u hls file.
It works on the steam test page just fine
(https://developer-tools.jwplayer.com/stream-tester/)
but when I add the url at the bottom of the page and insert the shortcode I get nothing on the wordpress page.

EDIT:
I failed to mention that the page shows no errors just the circle in the player indicating that it is loading video. Same result in Chrome and Firefox

This plugin seems to replace the deprecated jwp plugin, and many online descriptions of WordPress live streaming plugins don’t seem to address this issue !

1. Just confirming that this plugin will support inputting a m3u/8 playlist URL for IPTV live tv/movie channels ( from remote http sources.)

2. I read on jwp site that YouTube is not supported anymore.

How about support for VLC converted YouTube links by following:

VLC > Network Stream> YouTube URL> Codec info> converted link (bottom)> m3u playlist Save.

Or, is there any way to support YouTube live tv streaming via some other method of conversion ? Maybe Streamlink /liveproxy conversion ?

Is your plugin support interactive transcript.

Google Search report that Web Vitals CLS is high in our website.
After an investigation it is because the player is generated on the fly and from zero space used there is a layout shift of like 300px~ as hiehgt.
We fixed it with CSS on the .jwplayer class as it is already available in the html and defining as default a minimum height to fix it (a blank space with a placeholder img).

I wanted to remove the text of loading but in the plugin settings the field is not showed.

Looking at the code seems that $dashboard_player is true so some settings are not showed. Anyway the jwppp_player_code function use that parameter also if is not possible to configure it.

So I edited the code, fields showed up, text changed reverted the code changes.

There is any plan to add the support to print in the html the Schema.org stuff for the videos used in an article?
In this way google can show an image with the player icon on the article in the results.

How do I get this player to work? Much of the documentation posted on your website is outdated. For example, you can no longer get a Self-Hosted Player URL out of the box to test out the plugin. You have to wait for JW Player to get back to you and when you select a Cloud Hosted Player URL, it’s impossible to set-up the API keys because the plugin requires a premium version.

Looking at the code of the plugin and the output this plugin doesn’t support AMP.
Son amp pages we have a Loading player... text without any player and the code line 136 at jwppp-player-code.php is executed also if fb instant articles is kind of obsolete now.

It is possible to get the AMP support? We have the premium plugin but I guess that is not supported also in the free version.

Is anyone else seeing this? When updating to WordPress 5.3 the Play button is no longer functional. When you click on it, nothing happens. I tested this on different 2 sites. Same results.

Free version of this plugin is throwing these errors. Please advise a fix.

I’m using this plugin in a website with over 16000 posts and the search to add a video is very slow and has some issue.

• If I press an arrow key the search is executed again
• It’s not clear the way the video are ordered, maybe by the date? Can be useful to see that in the list
• Default video in the search list (we have a jolly video to use when we don’t have any)
• Add a text under the video
• Sometimes is very slow to show the list, it is possible to add a caching system for the search? Sometimes I have to look for the same term often but I have to wait
• The tooltip width is very short but there is enough width in the editing page to avoid this problem

We would like to hide: Share or Embed This Item, Embedding Examples and More Formats
in the JW player.

We have tried several tests with different embedded codes, CSS and adding code to our template header, we have not made it happen and hope we can get some inputs from JW Player support, so we can get it working.

Hi,
I’ve set up an account with JW Player and have a url for the player that I have created (the cloud player library url). It is a version 8 player, as I couldn’t create a version 7 player within my JW player account

When I try and add the URL to the plugin settings and save it, it redirects me to a 404 page.

The other settings I can change and save with no issue. Is this a plugin/theme incompatibility? Or do I need to have a self hosted v7 player for this plugin to work?

How to use videos embedded in jw player without being youtube videos?

I tried to use the JWPlayer_api::upload method to push a poster image of a video that I’ve uploaded and I’m getting a “415 Unsupported Media Type” response but I don’t know why. I’ve tried a few methods/solutions and nothing is working.

Then I installed plugin jw7 and followed all recomendations.

– disactived jw6
– actived jw7

Results:

jw7 player is showing up but not playing video (source not found).

Questions:

if I upgraded from jw6 to jw7, must I embedding all videos and playlist in my posts again?

Are the jw6 shortcodes [jwplayer mediaid=”15937″] and [jwplayer player=”2″ playlistid=”14519″] working with jw7?

After some tests we have decided to change this plugin for native Youtube videos. The problem is after plugin deactivation old videos are not working.

Is it possible to bulk migrate old videos with shortcodes like [jwplayer mediaid=”224168″] to the real url?

Hello, is there any way to insert responsive version of JW Player? Or make the player look nice in mobile some other way?

i recently purchase the premium plugin and currently have been streaming with the factory jw player wordpress plugin that works great only I only wish it was responsive and had more features to modify the settings. So long story short I found your plugin played with it for a few hours and found a few issues.
Using your plugin i found the following:
1. On a Windows 10 computer using Microsoft edge browser, All m3u8 streams work perfectly.
2. On a Windows 10 & Windows 7 computer using IE, FirFox, Google Chrome, Safari, m3u8 streams don’t work.
3. On a Iphone 5s, iphone 6, moto razr android, amazon kindle first edition, amazon kindle Hd: m3u8 streams Do work.

The factory wordpress Jw Player plugin streams in All browsers, old or new devices from phones to tablets, and smart tvs. Huge props on the plugin its brilliant!! If you need a tester feel free to message me. I will be looking forward to response. thank you.
