Hello,
I have been using JW Player 7 for WordPress – Premium plugin for many years now and never had an update. I have been getting heavy CPU loads when checking my WP Cpanel and have been checking all my plugins.
I currently have WordPress version 5.3.2 and wondering is my JW Player 7 for WordPress – Premium plugin compatible.
Is there an update for JW Player 7 for WordPress – Premium?
Thanks
]]>Hello @longtail-video!
Will you continue to support this plugin or has the plugin been abandoned to rot in the plugin graveyard?
It not been updated for nine months and support questions from people seems to go unanswered, so I think it is a fair question to ask and receive an answer too also.
You do not want to invest a lot of time in and install something that you have to remove again within a short timeframe..
I also read several persons mentioning that it has been flagged as security risk, has this been fixed?
Thanks for your answer in advance!
Kind regards

Hi,
Wondering, is this plugin GDPR compliant?
Thanks!
Hi all,
I am using JW Player and streaming video all setup is fine. But video is not loading continuously. Same frame is repeating. This only happening in Desktop browsers. If I check this in a Tab, is working fine.
Where is the problem please and how can I fix this ?
Thanks
Nisha
Hi all,
I am using an enterprise version of the JW Player because of DRM. I want to know can I use DRM enabled URLs in this plugin. If so, how can I use the plugin to setup DRM ?
Thanks in advance
]]>Hi All,
How can I set a poster image ?
Thanks
]]>Hey –
I tried to use the JWPlayer_api::upload method to push a poster image of a video that I’ve uploaded and I’m getting a “415 Unsupported Media Type” response but I don’t know why. I’ve tried a few methods/solutions and nothing is working.
Thanks,
Alex
My Wordfence plugin gives me this information adding that it may be potentially risky not to get rid of the JW Player 6:
“Severity: Critical
Status: New
It has unpatched security issues and may have compatibility problems with the current version of WordPress.”
Can someone comment on this?
]]>Hi
Does anybody know how to add post image for self-hosted videos? The video I’m embedding isn’t synced to JW Platform, and I can’t see an option in the plug-in to set the poster image of a video.
In JWPlayer 6 there was an option for this, but it looks like it has disappeared since.
I raised this ticket a couple of weeks ago but haven’t had any feedback: https://github.com/jwplayer/wordpress-plugin/issues/57
Thanks
]]>My template is not understanding the shortcode properly.
Correct me if I am wrong but this plugin allows you to embed your videos/players by the usage of shortcodes only, such as [jwplayer MdkflPz7-35rdi1pO]. This shortcode system isn’t reflecting videos/players properly in my template, output is always one default player instead of default configuration from plugin backend or from override config per post.
However using the javascript/iframe embed code works fine. I’m I the only one that has this concern? Wouldn’t it be be much more ideal if one could automatically generate/embed the javascript or iframe coding from within the plugin media input window rather than the shortcode been generated? Or rather what I’m I doing wrong that is causing my template not to understand how to render the shortcode properly?
Hi i am unable to play any videos as it giving Error#2035 error can you please help me out
]]>I’m just testing out the plugin and added a clip to a draft post and notice the resolution defaults to 180p, it’s an HD video and I can’t figure out why this is. Any suggestions?
]]>hello,
After some tests we have decided to change this plugin for native Youtube videos. The problem is after plugin deactivation old videos are not working.
Is it possible to bulk migrate old videos with shortcodes like [jwplayer mediaid=”224168″] to the real url?

Great App !! Highly recommended!
]]>My Webhoster sent me a message and ask me to check my PHP-versions, because he want to disable PHP 5.4 and older in the next time.
So I made a upgrade of all to PHP 5.6, all was working very well after the upgrade except the JW Player for WordPress (2.1.14) where I get the following error.:
Strict Standards: Static function AdminState::getID() should not be abstract in /www/htdocs/xxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/admin/AdminState.php on line 108
Strict Standards: Static function WizardState::getTitle() should not be abstract in /www/htdocs/xxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/jw-player-plugin-for-wordpress/admin/WizardState.php on line 50
I had to rename the plugin via FTP, because a login was impossible.
So please check it.
With best regards, Michael.
]]>I am currently running the free version of the WordPress JW Player 6. I am using Amazon S3 with CloudFront & it’s working fine with the player. So, if I want to start using the new version of the JW Player for WordPress, will all of the current videos I have on my site still work with the new plugin?
My video post format on my website for WordPress JW Player 6 is
[jwplayer sources=”{ file:’rtmp://s3cpc52ramqpws.cloudfront.net/cfx/st/testvideo.mp4′ },{ file:’https://d117nq1p4d19vu.cloudfront.net/testvideo.mp4′ }”]
]]>I’ve seen a lot of posts about the JW Player 7 for WordPress Plugin.
I wanted to confirm or verify. Is this your plugin? I think the auther is ilGhera.
For Longtail’s version of JW Player, the current version is JW Player 6 correct?
Thanks,
]]>I am trying to get JW Player 7 Plugin for WordPress to work . After installation I created a page and then went to the Add Media button to add my self-hosted video on my server. I chose the file from Media Library
After I selected the video I clicked on Insert With JW Player defaults. Then it displays the shortcode but nothing happens.
Shortcode: [jwplayer hWfDP2Pg]
Video url :https://s3.amazonaws.com/courseviz.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/28055742/SEO-for-Beginners-Tutorial-1-What-is-Search-Engine-Optimization-.mp4
I would like to use any means possible (php, js, etc) to modify the target when one selects a video in the widget – for example, instead of it creating a Shortcode in the WYSIWYG editor, I want to be able to send the selected media id and player id’s to other fields in the admin screen (specifically ACF plugin fields)
Is this possible, even if I need to fork the plugin for the time being?
Please advise, as this is direly needed.
FYI – We are Enterprise subscribers of the JW PLatform

]]>I installed the latest version.
In dashboard, there is a notification;
“Please Note: We noticed that you were using the old JW Player Plugin. Use this tool to import player settings and playlists into your JW player account, so that they display correctly.”
Even though I did ‘import configuration’ functionality, there is still the notification.
FYI: the plugin is working and I could insert Jw video. I can ignore the notification, but my client could think about reliability.
]]>We have a wordpress site which supports video in its template. To add video you simply add the Youtube or Vimeo link into the “video section” for the video and it plays within the template page perfectly. If we are using the hosted cloud option with JWplayer. How can we continue to use Url’s to link videos into our wordpress template? The template does not have a space to add embed codes and such unless we put this into the main post area and we don’t want to do this.
Thank you so much.
]]>Dear Sir,
I am using jw6 with video galleries. When I install jw7 the videos with jw6 did not appear, even the galleries not.
That means, if I upgrade to jw7, then all videos must be insert the the post again. Is this right?
I have more than 500 videos and those videos must be insert to all posts again? Is this right? is a lot of work!
Best regards
Walter
Is this plugin multisite compatible? If so, does it require Network Activation or one-by-one activation?
Also.. when will this be out of Beta?
Thanks!!
