I have not been able to show any timeline on WordPress using this plugin. What exactly goes into the “src”? The URL of the spreadsheet? The timeline URL? I tried everything but it does not work.

the shortcode does not display anything anymore in WordPress 6.0.2 with plugin version 3.8.18.0. I have seen it working on the same website before, though. Could it be because of the latest WordPress version?
There are no errors in the debug.log but Firefox’ browser console reads the following warning:
unreachable code after return statement timeline-embed.js:656:6
Any ideas?

]]>I wanted to make sure that this community was aware of an update to TimelineJS which is scheduled for next Wednesday, September 23rd. The details are explained in depth in this blog post but in short:
At the end of this month, Google is disabling the access method which TimelineJS has used to read configuration data. You MUST update your copy of the plugin between September 23rd and September 30th or your timelines will stop working. The minimum version of the plugin which will continue to work will be 3.8.0.0, so make sure that’s the one you have.
If you have been using the plugin since before 2015, there may be other impacts, and if you use JSON configuration instead of Google Sheets, again, there may be impact. Please read the blog post for details. We’ll try to keep up with questions here if you have them.

I��ve been running the awesome timeline.js on my WordPress for years through a manual embed. I��m rewriting my theme and thought switching to the plugin might be the right way to go.
Right now I��m having two issues and a bug question based on your docs.
Only the ��return to start�� button is displaying rather than the return/zoom out/zoom in stack. How do I get all 3 buttons to display.
I��ve seen a couple of questions regarding initial zoom. The response seems to suggest editing the plugin php file. This obviously isn��t the way to go as the plugin update could overwrite these edits at any time. Any chance of getting a parameter on the shortcode?
Finally, there��s a version parameter that refers to a version 3. I can find a GitHub page but nowhere does it expkain what��s changed in this version, and the links to the main timeline.js page never mention versions. Anywhere we can read up on this version to make a decision on switching to it?

I would like to use a self hosted timeline (with a json file).
The timeline will be quite big (hungreds of event on 6000 years).
Some of the events are a few weeks long.
So I would like to be able to create some buttons to navigate on the timeline and be able to modify the zoom for each linked slide.
How can I do that using this plugin?

in the second one everything works and timeline is displayed correctly while in the first one nothing is displayed…..

]]>Hello��I think the timeline is really great and have used it in a few projects now.
I have a client who wants the color of a slide title changed, and I have spent time working on instantiating the timeline on my page in order to target the right CSS.
I am not familiar with using Javascript and cannot get the timeline to work on the page… can someone just give me a simple breakdown of how to instantiate it? Where does what piece of code go? I know some should go in the header, the div will go in the page, but I must be doing something wrong. I appreciate the help.
