The not ‘certified compatible’, it works with WP 4.9.
I would like to tweak it to search for ‘display_name’ instead of ‘username’, since posts show with ‘display_name’ and I visitor likely don’t know the real login id (username).

Can you make it so that it will automatically pull an excerpt like it does now but allow the user to specify the amount word the excerpt displays? I think your plugin defaults at 50 words I would like to extend that to 100 or 200.
