Hello. After installing this plugin “Lightweight Social Icons” my website is getting the error “Ensure Text Remains Visible During WebFont Load” inside Google’s PageSpeed Insights tools. With the help of certain caching plugins, I tried adding display:swap; css property and it did not worked. I even deleted the font from plugins folder using my cpanel and it didn’t worked. I even edited the css file of the plugin to manually add the display swap functionality, it did not worked. Why in the world is this font even being used inside this plugin? Sorry to say, if this is not fixed, I might have to uninstall this plugin and find a different solution. This is such a headache. The worst part is that, these developers have two css file in the source code, styles.css and styles-min.css and putting display swap on any of these does not works. Find a solution for this and write it here, this plugin has already wasted my enough time fixing that error.

I have a couple of social icons displayed in my websites footer however they are showing as boxes/squares and not the actual logo for Facebook/Instagram.

I have another website (https://sailawaystanthony.co.uk) – on here the social icons are displaying correctly yet I can’t see what difference could be causing this…

I have two social icons in my website’s footer (Facebook and Instagram) however they are not showing as the correct logos for each; instead that show as white squares. The links still work, and they have displayed correctly in the past but I am not sure what’s happened…

I’ve a centralized system to introduce my clients social media links, and shortcodes to retrieve them.

When I try to use these shortcodes to fill the icon link field, after saving changes “https://” reappears in front of the widget, which would generate the wrong link.

Aside from that, the content from the shortcode doesn’t load.

Would it be possible to add shortcodes support for these fields?

I noticed that the plugin is calling fontello.woff even though there’s no text being displayed. Is there a way to either disable it or change it to a font I’m already using on the site to eliminate an unnecessary call?

I see there’s been an earlier request for an Amazon icon (three years ago), and the response was that you’d see about adding it to the next update. The topic is closed to new comments, but I too need an Amazon icon. So… Is there a way to do this yet? It’s not listed as one of the icon options in the plugin.

I was wondering what the procedure was to integrating those. I guess I can always edit the plugin myself, but I thought others my benefit as well and this might make maintenance easier on my side..

would it be possible (if it makes sense for you as well) to add “font-display: swap;” to your @font-face css declaration for the fontello font?
That way, google page speed is happy, and the default font will be used until your font is loaded, always displaying something for the user, instead of waiting for the font to load.

Using Lightweight social icons plugin for my page footer. I thought I could show the icons arranged horizontally (left to right) versus how they do appear, one on top of the other.
Is there a way to do that with this plug in?
If not, is there another good plugin for this? Just want to show the icons as links.
