Just wondered if that error_log is still needed in the show_help() function. It fires every time any admin page is displayed, and I happen to need to save the error_log stream for other reasons.
]]>Hi. Our website (https://www.gmvbodybuilding.com.au) relies almost entirely on Custom Post Types. Does this plugin work (detect new posts) with Custom Types?
Cheers!
]]>Hi Rikard,
Everything seems to be setup correctly, but whether I use the custom location or above or below, the like button won’t show up on the posts.
For your info, here is https://blog.petaasiapacific.com/phpinfo.php. We’re using WP 3.0.2
The class is there, since this code shows the text ‘like’
?if (class_exists("IngbooFacebookLike")) {?echo 'like';?echo $IngbooFacebookLike->getLike();}
Also, note I’ve removed the code and replaced with generic like button while waiting for your answer, this is why you can see a like button on our site https://blog.petaasiapacific.com/
Thanks for your help !
]]>When someone “Likes” a post, what shows up in their feed is “[Name] likes [website url]:[category]” in that person’s News Feed on Facebook.
Is there a way to tailor the message that appears on Facebook.
I would like it to say, “[Name] likes [post title] on [website url]”
]]>I just installed the plugin and got this message: “Warning: error_log() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/insulate/public_html/doghouseoftheday/wp-content/plugins/like-for-tags/ingboo-facebook-like.php on line 274”
What am i supposed to do about that.
Using wordpress 3.02 and atahualpa theme
]]>Facebook has an issue that is blocking news feed updates.
The problem began on 11/9/2010 around 10 pm PDT and still persists as of 11/11/2010 at 9 am PDT.
Many people and applications are impacted by this. According to Facebook, they are working on the issue.
We will keep you posted as we learn more.
This does NOT impact the Like button or how it posts to the Facebook WALL. You can safely keep your Like button and keep collecting users.
]]>Use Facebook Like for Tags for ongoing updates and sharing. Automatically share into Facebook when posting new articles with same tags or categories. Facebook Like for Tags packs a lot more punch into the Like button.

New features:

Facebook Like for Tags is a free plugin, released under GPL.
]]>We have received feedback that upgrading from within WordPress dashboard produces an error. While we are looking into this issue, you can always grab the zip-file from https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/like-for-tags/ or from https://www.ingboo.com/pvm/plugin and drop it into your WordPress plugin directory.
]]>We have noticed that brand images are not showing in the Facebook news feed. Instead, a question mark (“?”) is showing. If the plugin user doesn’t set an image, the default image should be a blue RSS icon. If setting a brand image, it should propagate and show in Facebook.
This problem appears to be related to Facebook. There is one forum post on this plus a bug filed with Facebook. We have contributed to these two threads within the Facebook developer forums.
As soon as we know more about this issue, we will let everyone know.
]]>We released a new version of Like for Tags today (ver 1.4).
It has the following new features:
-Support for Like buttons inside excerpts.
-Post-specific settings using Custom Value “like” (no button – “false”, force button “above”/“below”).
-Adding “button count” to layout styles.
-Improved help inside the WordPress directory.
-Configure the height of the Facebook iFrame (some themes clip pictures).
If you intend to use any of the features above, please upgrade the plugin, otherwise you can keep the version you have.
If you currently have plugin version 1.2 or earlier, you will need to remember email address/password, then delete the plugin and reinstall version 1.4.
Over the past two days, Facebook has experienced repeated outages. This impacts their plugins, including Like buttons. Consequently, Facebook Like for Tags by IngBoo is impacted as well. We are unfortunately at the mercy of Facebook to get this resolved. I suspect it is their priority.

In release 1.3 of Facebook Like for Tags, we made some improvements in configuration. Once installed, future releases will preserve prior settings. This is not the case in earlier versions.
Also, you can selectively turn OFF the Like button by the use of a Custom Value. Create a Custom Value called “like” and set it to “false” and the plugin will disable the button for that post.
This is an important feature since some themes use a post for the top banner where you typically don’t want to have a Like button.

The plugin download can be initiated from here as well.
We have also tried to replicate most of it in the WordPress plugin directory.
]]>For those interested in third-party perspectives on Facebook Like for Tags, DragonBlogger reccently wrote a great post. It provides a good overview of the benefits and detail on how it is installed.

We would like to solict input on PHP4 support or rather, the lack of it in our plugin, Facebook Like for Tags. PHP4 is officially deprecated but there are still some WordPress installations that use PHP4. Is it a significant amount? We would appreciate input on this.
Thanks!
For now, this plugin requires that you run your WordPress on top of PHP 5.x.
]]>All of you that have downloaded version 1.1 of the like-for-tags plugin should upgrade to 1.2 as soon it’s visible in the plugin catalog.
A small error crept in to the code whare a configuration variable wasn’t replaced with the actual value.
