Is there a way to show next to the Like button the share button?
A visitor to a website using this plugin noticed some odd links to dating sites. This plugin was adding these to pages, under the Facebook Like section, but they were only visible to those not logged in. Sneaky.
I don’t see anything despite activation and settings. What now? is there a shortcode I need to include?
hi!
i’ve been using this plugin for a year now, without any problems.
but today i noticed that the like count on my old blog posts disappeared…
i used the fb linter check thing to see what might be wrong. first it gave me this error: “of type ‘profile’ is invalid because it specifies multiple ‘og:url’ values:”
i deactivated another fb plugin, and this error was gone.
now it says “Extraneous Property: Objects of this type do not allow properties named ‘fb:page_id’.”
and “og:image is missing. The og:image meta tag is necessary for Facebook to render a News Feed story that generates a high clickthrough rate.”
not really sure what to make out of this, since this doesn’t really seem to be related to my problem. (right?)
i didn’t change anything like the permalink values btw…
is there any way to get the likes back? is this problem related to wordpress & the plugin or facebook itself?
Hello! The like button is not working on my latest post. What is wrong?
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
Jenna
the plugin has a few small mistakes.
country_name should be country-name (notice the -, in stead of the _ ).
street_adress should be street-adress
postal_code should be postal-code
fax_number should be fax-number
besides, it’s not clearly stated that “Facebook Page ID:” is NOT the same is “Numeric Facebook ID:”.
also, the plugin doesn’t always translate the “like” button, for example on 1 of my sites (which is in dutch), is shows “like”, while the dutch word should be “vind ik leuk”.
even when i used it in a german and french website, the “like” button wouldn’t translate.
perhaps something that could be fixed in the future.
all together, a nice plugin.
just missing some details.
Hi,
i click on “show faces” in setup, but nothing happens.
Any ideas?
ciao

Hi,
what about taking the gravatar image of the email of the user as a possible og:image ?
How to contribute ?
Thx in advance.

Antoine
Hi,
The like plugin is not localised. For instance,
in France, it says “I like” rather than “J’aime”.
This is because, the javascript at line 331 / 340 of the tt_like_widget.php file says it is en_US, and the GUI does not allow users to change this.
Thx in advance.

I installed the Like plug-in and it seems to work on all my posts EXCEPT for my most recent one (the one I was working on when I installed the plug-in). When I click like, it shows as a “like” on my blog, but nothing posts to Facebook. Not sure what went wrong. I did a test post with a new entry and that worked fine. It also worked on old posts (prior to installing the plug-in). I’m not sure what to do to fix this issue with the single post. Can someone help me??? Here is the post I’m referring to:

When a user clicks on the like button it doesn’t seem to match up with the number of likes show on the Facebook page.
For example one post on my blog has 50 likes yet in Facebook the whole page only has 10 likes.
Whats going on?
Thanks
I am unsure whther to report it to ShareDaddy from WordPress JetPack or to you…
When I enable WordPress Jetpack, that has ShareDaddy along with it, your like plugin disappears. I either loose the sharing options of both the plugins or I only see the Jetpack one.
I want to use both plugins simultaneously: your plugin on top og posts and the JetPack (ShareDaddy) on the bottom.

Hi
I ran my site through W3C validation and had only a couple of errors (woohoo)
One of them comes from the Like plugin and is a simple syntax error which I tried to manually fix myself, but I couldn’t find the actual code for it?
The syntax W3C flags is because of a capital letter mid attribute in: “allowTransparency”
Should be “allowtransparency”
I looked in the page code and found the relating code in the like_widget.php on line 409, but I can’t see where it’s picking up the allowTransparency:
Page src:

Line 409 of the code:
$button .= '';
Would be worth amending for future releases to keep the gods of HTML happy ??

I’ve been using Bottomless’ Like plugin for a few months now without any issues and suddenly, starting yesterday, the Like button doesn’t seem to be accepting clicks. While I can click, and the button changes to “1 Like”, it then quickly returns to the default “Like” icon. When I go to my FB page my like hasn’t been accepted and doesn’t show up on my wall. I have the Like plugin installed on one of my sites, where it works fine. But on another site though, when enabled it shows the top of an advertisement instead of the Like button. Another similar plugin, Facebook Like, does the same thing.
Both sites are hosted on the same provider, HostGator. Anyone have any clue as to what might be causing this weird behaviour?
Also, if I enable Use XFBML, the button disappears altogether. I’ve never been able to use XFBML with any Facebook Like plugin; I’ve created an app and put the app ID in. Has anyone else managed to get XFBML to work?
Thanks,
Graham
Hello!
I use Like for several months now but today all the likes except the ones from the newest post disappeared.
I didn’t change anything. Is this beacause of Facebook or whta’s wrong?
Best regards!

On my blog, I’ve edited my theme to call the author image plugin via <?php the_author_image(); ?>
just before the_content
is called.
I want a Facebook Like button to appear beneath the blog post’s title but above the image. So far, I can’t get that to work. Instead, if I set my preferences to put the button at the top of the post, I’ll get the author image, the like button, and then the post content, resulting in an inelegant layout.
Is there a way to manually call the Like button, so I can do so just before the author image? The closest I’ve been able to come is by changing line 148 of the Like plugin so that add_filter('the_content', 'tt_like_widget');
becomes add_filter('the_title', 'tt_like_widget');
, but even that’s not exactly what I want (and has many unintended side effects!).
If you add the official facebook share code while using Like’s FBML mode the Like buttons fail to load.
