Hi, This is not really a question but a bug and work around which I found.
I needed to import more than a 1000 categories and received an error when trying to import. The screen which says that the website is temporary unavailable.
I first thought that it had to do with the CSV format and I tried several things. Then it occurred to me that even though there was an error some categories were imported.
So the work around is: to go back from the error screen and hit the “import” button again. And repeat this until all records have been imported.
I’m not sure if this was intended, but otherwise I cant get it to import. The maximum seems to be 8 categories at once.
How does this option work?
Through wordpress cron, do you have to set an external cron or something else?
I enabled “Enable automatic generation of missing thumbnails” in Global Options but my missing thumbnails are not generated.
One at a time instead works fine from the individual link admin page.

I have a development request/question for wordpress multisite environments. I would like to have the ability to designate a library as “local” or “global”, such that the short code for global libraries can be used on any site without duplicating the library. That is, you only have to make broken link edits to one library, and those edits will show up on all the different sites. Local libraries, however, would continue to function as is, such that each individual site would have their own links independent of the global links.
Would this be a minor or major undertaking? I’m happy to test out any code modifications that you believe could produce this functionality.

I’ve tried signing up to PagePeeker and adding my API, but still, I get broken links. The image src generated is: https://api.pagepeeker.com/v2/thumbs.php?size=m&url=https://youtu.be/xxxxxxx. Oddly, no API key included here. Even if I omit the API key (which changes the URL to https://free.pagepeeker.com… I still get a broken link.

]]>Hi, After reading so many positive stories about your plugin. I installed it and everything seemed to go well. The Category page opens Links on the links page. However, the Search box does not give any result. Even though I have added tags to all links. How do I get the search box to appear in one row, like in the instruction video? I tried to put the library in a flex box to change the layout a bit, but this does not work. Can it only be done with css? Is there a way to import all the tags from word press? I am currently using this:

Currently this plugin displays its admin notices (which are quite verbose and visually obtrusive) on every page in the WP Admin Area. This is not considered best practice, as it is much better to display any notices on your own plugin’s page(s) only.
Please add an “if” condition in your plugin code to limit your notices to your pages only. It would make things so much better for everyone who uses your plugin. You can use a function such as get_current_screen() (for example) to determine whether or not your notices should be displayed.

i just see that you did some update but now all my websites are messed up….
On all my websites i use [link-library categorylistoverride=”business”] to show only the links in the category “business” but now it’s showing all the links from all categories..
Can you please fix this as soon as possible?

When adding links, it would be useful to have the TAG selection expanded by default.
Currently, we see the default WP behaviour in the backend: we need to click: choose from the most used tags.
I tried to add this myself, but my skills are v.limited and I was unable to target the LL custom field (I only managed to expand tags when creating a default post!)

Feature request, please: is there any way to display all links from a single domain? For example, all the links (across all cats/tags/dates) for bbc.com or cnn.com.
Currently, I am thinking I might need to add [BBC] manually to the link title (or description) which is obviously time-consuming and error-prone (especially when this info is already in the database).

When I add shortcode to insert the submit form, it displays a button, that when clicked shows the form in a large popup.

Feature request, please: the ability to use a custom bullet (or icon), set in the back-end, with different bullets for different category and/or tag. (Maybe with priority given to cat > tag, if custom is set for both).
I have no idea if this is possible at all, or even if it’s already possible with a CSS snippet.

I have not yet installed it, but have been experimenting with your demo, and have a couple of questions please.
(1) I noticed the thumbnail generation seemed to screenshot the homepage, rather than the specific article url (I used links to the BBC site). Also, can the thumbnail auto-generate from the page featured image? (Like when sharing on socials).
(2) Can your plugin display dates easily? I have a lot of links, so need the date of the published article (or date I add it) to appear.
I would also like a simple way to display only the most recent links for each category. Or would you suggest tags, eg: (2023-12, 2024-01…)

There is one serious problem at the moment: Links upvotes doesn`t work.
I tried this functionality in various WordPress configurations, thinking it was my site’s fault. But when I install the plugin on a clean WordPress installation with the default theme, the problem is the same: votes are not counted. After pressing the upvote button, the icon lights up but does not add a vote.
If there are several links, after pressing the upvote button on one of them, all of them will be highlighted in the same time, but no vote is counted…

I need to be able to print a list periodically and at the moment when I try to either print from the browser while looking at the category list or doing a copy/paste into various programs it would take a lot of time reformatting it to just get a basic list. I’d like it to show the category name and how many links in each category. But even just the category names would suffice. TY!

At this time, my website is still hidden under a “coming soon” page, but it’ll be live starting sometime Sunday. I set up two link libraries, and started adding links to the one “by me”, and that one seems to work (and match the site) quite well. However, after creating the second library, I wasn’t sure how to make it work. Help?
