I noticed there hasn’t been any updates in a while, and the 4GOA website is no longer active.
I’m considering purchasing the premium version w/ BuddyPress support, but if they creators have decided to quit their work, I’d like to know.
Thanks!
Tony
]]>Hi, I have about 25 locations in my map, also filtering options as well. My issue is with the markers loading on the map. They are very slow indeed. The whole page takes 3 seconds to load, which loads the map as well. The backend process for building markers and lists takes about 5-8 sec. Created a custom template link for map page which I removed all unnecessary js and css files from other plugins. Still no avail. Created some shortcodes along with existing ones which fetches extra info from posts. So how do I load markers faster. Can we build a json array, so it does not need to build on page load or something. Thanks..
]]>I have created categories with sub-categories in LocateAnything->Markers. But the subcategories are not shown below the parent catagory in the filter. All categories are in alphabetic order regardless of sub- or parent-category. How to fix this ?
How do I change the headline “marker categories” above the filters? I see that in the cases on your website you have changed the headline to ‘Favorite music’.
]]>Hi, I’e been using your locate anything plugin for a while now and it was working great. Lately however, it does not seem to fill in the details in the user profile (geo settings) as it did before. New profiles, even when having the needed fields completed are not populating the fields.
In the past, I also noticed that when a new user signed up, it wouldn’t populate the fields at the time of signup. Sometimes it would take an hour, sometimes longer before the information was finally there.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
Abe
]]>Hi.
Thanks for the great plugin. I have a support request, that i need to add multiple values in an additional field (like a select list with multiselect). I am using checkbox as filter. I tried with comma separated values, but it showing as a single checkbox value in front end filter. But i need to show multiple checkboxes.
I hope my question is clear.
Thanks in advance.
Filter is working fine, but the tick in the check box cannot be seen, I used css so that the check box was visible, and the filter works, but I need the tick in the check box to be visible too
]]>Hi. Thanks for the great plugin. I have a support request that I need to perform a text search functionality in the map. A simple Textfield and a Submit button. Upon submit the map must filter based on the input given. I have seen the global search in the map, but it searches all locations, beyond the actual markers present in the map. So I need to search and filter the existing markers from an input given. I hope its clear. Awaiting for the reply.
Thanks…
]]>Hi, I downloaded and installed LocateAnything. I was following this video . I was immediately stuck as it clearly shows two tabs:
1. Default Settings
2. BuddyPress
However, after installing this, I am missing the BuddyPress tab so I cannot configure as needed. My website uses buddypress for it’s membership.
I think this plugin is just what I have been looking for…
What am I missing please?
]]>Hey there. Thanks for the great plugin! Is there anyway to change the color of the “cluster” icon?
Also, for some reason, the thumbnails I’m setting for the markers are zooming in on the photo so it looks pixelated and out of place. Can you help? Not sure if I did something wrong or if it is a setting that I’ve misconfigured.
Thanks in advance!
]]>When I try to filter with the range slider the values seem to be different than if I use any other filter option.
For example I have some data I am filtering, prices, for a few different posts. If I use the dropdown all the prices show correctly and are filtered correctly. If I switch to range it filters for the incorrect values. Right now I have prices between 0-100 and when using range the posts are filtered between 170-175.
I see on the user docs that the range must be simple numeric values. All the values here are numbers but I assume strings and not integers. Is this where the issue is?
]]>hey there, is there any plugin/option to import markers from CSV ?
Congrats with this nice plugin !
]]>Hi, I Have a support request that i need to click on the marker, so I get the details on the left side, ie the exact opposite of current working functionality.
Thanks…
]]>Hi again
As I’ve mentioned before I’m REALLY keen to use this plugin but I’m having problems with the particular site where I want to use it. When I try to add a map I get as far as seeing the “Preview not available yet message” and stall. I turned on debugging in wp-config.php and got the following notices in the back end:
unserialize(): Error at offset 0 of 1 bytes in […] /wp-content/plugins/locateanything/admin/class-locate-anything-admin.php
for line 205, 175 and 120.
Any suggestion as to what might be the causing these errors would be really appreciated!
]]>Hi, Thanks for the nice plugin. I have a support request that all markers on the map need to show up on page load, currently shown on mouse hover.
Thanks..

I have about 1000 locations on a db and I would like to load them up
is there a mapping tool or way to do this on the currently code base ?
thank you
]]>Hi,
Your plugin seems exactly what I am looking for. Unfortunately, I can’t get it to work.
When trying to create a map, I get this error (in the place where the map preview should show):
“Forbidden
You don’t have permission to access /wp-content/plugins/locateanything/admin/partials/locate-anything-preview.php on this server.”
What I’ve tried so far:
– changed permissions of that file and directory to 777.
– deactivated all plugins.
– empty .htaccess
No success so far.
My WordPress version is up to date. PHP version is 5.5.38.
I try to make a map with OpenStreetMap.
I can’t figure what the problem might be. Do you have any idea? It would be great to get this to work.
Best regards,
James
Hi, I really like the look of your plugin. It does everything I need in terms of supporting custom taxonomies and post-types – better than any other map plugins I have looked at.
Unfortunately I am having an issue with the map preview not appearing in the backend. Looking via console I found there is a 500 type error being caused by the locate-anything-preview.php file. As a test I installed it on another WordPress site and found it worked fine there. So I went through the drill of disabling other plugins and swapping templates but this didn’t sort the issue. I got in touch with my hosting provider and they said it looked like a PHP compatibility issue. Having checked the PHP versions the two sites are running different versions: 7.0.21 on the site with the issue (5.6.31 where it is fine).
Is there any know compatibility issue that might explain the problem?
]]>Hi again,
We would like to have users/veterans fill a form to submit a location. In context, a veteran who is looking for work on a farm could fill out an online form with their location and that would automatically add a location marker to a particular category/map. Is there a way to do this currently?
Thank again for your work on this great tool.
Hi,
Great plugin! Thank you. I’m using the WordPress plugin and I’d have four different marker categories. I am displaying them all on one map. I would like the marker icon to be different for each marker category and have them populate automatically. Is this possible? I currently have to select a marker for each location I add.
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
I would like to edit the navigation list and the tooltip of a map, but I can’t access to the HTML editor.
Is it a bug ? or I’ve missed something ?

]]>Hi All…
Would anyone know how LocateAnything compares with others, like, say, Geo My WP or Supreme Directory/GeoDirectory? Are they similar?
Any good reviews/info anywhere for someone relatively-new to CMS/Wordpress/global geographical map based plugins?
I am looking into something like this for a global map-based directory that anyone can add their location and details to and that’s intuitive and simple yet as powerful as possible and/or future-proof.
So far, it seems that LocateAnything fits best, but I am unsure.
Anyway, if anyone would like to offer some advice, it would of course be appreciated.
Thank you.
]]>Hi,
Is it possible to use the map in the sidebar as a widget?
Thank you
Hi, how can I make this happen? I’d like to have filters styled same way as you have on your demo site.
Hi, I find your plugin very interesting and is just perfect for what I need. Do you plan to allow multiple post types per map? I need to create more post types and display them all on single map so this option would be perfect.

]]>Hi,
I have tested your pluging and it is very good work, thank you very much. All map platforms works very good.
However, there are some problems in the using a kml file. It does not show info text for any marker, and also polygons ext. If you improve your plugin in these subjects, it will be the best.
Regards.
