This plugin works okay even in the WordPress ver 4.7.4 but I have to discontinue it in order to use another SMTP emailer plugin.
]]>Hello All,
I went through this support forum, and addressed the issues to update the ‘Mail From’ plugin.
It should work now in WordPress version 4.5.2
I do not have access to upload the update here and am just trying to help out. Here is a link to the updated version if you want it:
Mail From 2.0
It should work on Multisite now as the fix documented in the support forum here has been added, the deprecated capability is resolved, so it should no longer be available to anyone but administrators.
To those getting activation or deletion errors, this sounds like you did not install the plugin to the correct folder. Make sure the plugin is in
wp-content/plugins/mail-from/mail-from.php,
not something like
wp-content/plugins/mail-from.1.0.1/mail-from/mail-from.php
because that won’t work.
If someone wants to upload this update or contact the original author to do so, great.
]]>Not compatible with latest WP.
This is the problem:
Argument in add_options_page()
Used in wp-content/plugins/mail-from/mail-from.php on line 69. Need to use a different ‘mail from’ type plugin.
I Have installed the plug-in. I am using contact form 7 for contact forms. What do I enter in From:? I tried [email protected] (this is the one I have specified in the mail from settings. Does not work. Do I need to enter something else?
]]>When I try to activate this plugin I get an error:
Method Not Implemented
GET to /wp-admin/plugins.php?action=delete-selected&checked%5B0%5D=mail-from%2Fmail-from.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=db6d0bb224 not supported.
Same error when trying to delete it.
]]>Testing a new installation today, I set up a user with just “read” rights – nothing else. (Using User Role Editor plugin)
Logging in as this user, I was amazed to see that I could change the settings in Mail From!
Plugin has been de-activated, of course.
Solution?
]]>Activated, but no result at all, changed and saved new setting. But incoming mail still has same format.
]]>When trying to activate or delete the plugin it redirects to a 404 file/page:
https://www.example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/plugins.php?action=activate&plugin=mail-from%2Fmail-from.php&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s&_wpnonce=d3f9387e07
I think it is related to the name of the plugin php file: mail-from%2Fmail-from.php
I tested it under Firefox 4 in a WordPress 3.1.2 environment.
]]>I have used Mail From for awhile and love it. I just donated. Wanted to point out a typo in the description, however:
“Change the default address that WordPress sends it’s email from.”
should be “its”
]]>I use this plugin on most of my sites. Example: supercars-for-sale.com
It simply replaces the return e-mail address on all automatically generated e-mail.
Hi, and thanks for the great plugin.
I guess it is not for WP network sites?
When on a secondary site and trying to update the settings, the form posts the update to the primary blog instead. Revisiting the settings on the secondary blog shows them as still blank.
]]>Installed the latest version.
Activate goes to ‘Not Found’ page
Site name has a (‘) single quote in domain name?
