Hi, could you replace your ico files to png files, please?
I get errors on
mainwp/icons/favi-1-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-2-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-3-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-4-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-5-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-6-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-7-favicon.ico
mainwp/icons/favi-8-favicon.ico
Your use of ico files triggers “client denied by server configuration” rules in the fail2ban software on the server, banning my IP after a few pageloads in the backend.
Example Entry causing it:? [Tue Nov 19 13:45:34.884521 2024] [access_compat:error] [pid 1382672:tid 140331907524160] [client xxx:0] AH01797: client denied by server configuration: /var/www/vhosts/xxx/wp-content/uploads/mainwp/icons/favi-4-favicon.ico
Apparently my server, using DEFAULT apache rules, is not happy with your use of ico files here. All other wordpress plugins use png, svg, etc.. for their small image files and they do not trigger same errors.
More info why you should not use ico files in WordPress at all:

Thanks for considering.

Hi, the latest released version (5.2.2) of MainWP gives a lot of php warnings:

While it might not be that bad, maybe it would be best to tackle these?
]]>Not sure if this was visible before but I accidentally installed multiple “updates” on my own wordpress installation because I was checking the plugin details popup and clicked the button. This should be hidden or an option to hide the button on the changelog page. Its not helpful (at least to me) and no good ux.
Thanks

Hi,
I use the Google Chrome extention to see if there are any updates on my sites. Since the latest update the synchronisation stopt working. I already removed en re-installed the extention. I created a new api key. Nothing helps. Any idea what is wrong?
Regards
Jurgen
I use MainWP for almost one year now and ynchronisation with the child sites worked fine until last week when the synchronisation ‘suddenly’ stopped. I configured it with disabled wp-cron and server cron jobs as advised here: https://kb.mainwp.com/disable-wp-cron/
After testing and changing cron settings to no avail, i realized that last week i did an update on MainWP Dashboard from version 5.1.1 to 5.2.
So i reverted to 5.1.1 and the sync works again as expected.
Can anyone tell if there is a known issue or bug in version 5.2 or did i miss a configuration setting in the new version?
Having used updraftplus backups for some time, I have just started including it in my MainWP dashboard. However, I have just noticed a HUGE problem.
I have always had UpdraftPlus back up to a folder in my domain root and never had a problem. I setup the backup schedule in MainWP and it displayed existing backups showing same backups as individual sites.
However, I needed to restore a backup. I was in the individual domain and clicked to restore, but it couldn’t find it. I went in to the site using FTP and all the files had gone, except some of the databases. So even though they showed under existing backups they had gone from the server. I managed to correct my issue and backup up (using updraftplus in domain, not mainwp) and the backups were ok.
I now tried backing up a different domain through MainWP dashboard. It said backup completed and showed it under Existing Backups. However, it is not on the server. I checked both the backup folder set and the updraft default. Nothing
]]>I’m using the free version of MainWP with the Sucuri scan extension activated.
When i do a scan of a website i see the following error: ‘Error retrieving the scan report’.
This issue is seen on all my websites.
Sucuri report worked fine in the past (last time used was about half a year ago on a few sites.
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed/activated the extension to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a way to hide columns in the Sites listing view. I would like to hide some of these so I don’t have to horizontal scroll across to the pop up settings menu on each site i.e. Sync dats, Overview etc.

Hi, when I click on any website in my MainWP, the individual website dashboard view seems broken. All columns are cramped into 1 column it seems.

Happens no matter the skin I choose (classic or minimal etc) or no matter the website i choose.
Anyone know what this may be and how to fix?

]]>MainWP is installed on a self-hosted WordPress instance v6.4.2, on a Mac with macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 with MAMP v6.8. I don’t know if this has an impact with MAMP, but my Mac is setup with the following:
The option for ??Prevent automatic sleeping when the display is off?? is ON.
The option for ??Wake for network access?? is ON.
As per https://mainwp.com/protect-your-data/, you’d agree you strongly suggest to install MainWP on a self-hosted website. This is a key feature compared to your competitors. However, I am wondering if you really support the Automatic Update feature for Trusted Plugins/Themes when MainWP is self-hosted?
Here, https://kb.mainwp.com/docs/manage-updates/, you say: ? If you want to make sure that WP Cron jobs are regularly triggered on your MainWP Dashboard, you can Authorize the Uptime Robot service and add your dashboard site as a monitor. ?. Correct me if I’m wrong but this workaround can’t work with self-hosted website, right?
I am raising this point because, nothing seems to happen ??automatically?? on my self-hosted setup since I installed MainWP almost a week ago, with the following plugins: Activity Log for MainWP, Advanced Uptime Monitor Extension, WP Crontrol, WP Mail SMTP. All of them up-to-date.?
MainWP is configured with 17 child sites, all Themes and Plugins have been set as ? Trusted ?.
The ? Automatic daily sync time ? is to 08:00 AM
The ? Advanced automatic updates delay ? is set to 1 day
As a matter of interest, I setup an UptimeRobot account and setup Monitors for almost all my Child sites. The MainWP dashboard reports the status accordingly.
Now comes the question of automated tasks.
I’ll make it short. Since that initial install/config, I received just once (it was yesterday at 08:23) a global ? Daily Digest ? email, reporting 19 Plugins and 7 Themes to be updated. At the bottom of this Global Daily Digest email, it is clearly mentioned: ? If your MainWP is configured to use Auto Updates, trusted updates will be installed in the next 24 hours. ?
Questions:
Please let me know me know if you think I overlooked some settings somewhere in MainWP that prevent automated updates and Daily emails to work as it should.
Thank you.
]]>Hi, can you please make the display of the time format consistent between tabs/screen? You apply the 12:00 format with the AM/PM distinction in the Settings/Main settings but then in the Info/Cron schedules, this AM/PM distinction is not there, leading to confusion.
The issue relies on the Time Format of the Settings/Main setting screen which doesn’t make the switch to a 24 format, ie 4:00 PM remains 4:00 instead of showing 16:00 in the Cron schedules screen.
Could you please ensure the 24 time format is used in all screens/tabs when Time Format is set to not use am/pm or AM/PM?
Thank you.
]]>Hi, first thank you for your work and amazing tool that really help.
I’ve noticed that in my 2 last projects I have a security issue : WP Config debugging is enabled.
I have this error even though in my wp-config.php file debug mode is deactivated. I never used the debug mod for those projects.
Does someone have an idea of what can it be ?
Thanks
]]>Installed Mainwp in a local host environment. I’m using Laragon with several projects and wanted to test drive MainWp with a development environment. I have Mainwp installed and child installed on one other site. As a HTTP site the connection works but doesn’t want to connect to the child site in the dashboard, and worse it throws up php warnings and errors.
I’m too busy to waste any more time on this. I thought it would be a good way to manage my sites on and off line. Maybe not
]]>Hello
I would like your opinion about this problem:
I have a site which is hosting by O2Switch. With this host, I can create a ‘pre-production’ site and then, push it on production when it’s ready
Usually, it’s ok but this time, I have a big problem : the final site was redirected to the preproduction and the design was totally broken.
And when I tried to push the back-up online (with the O2switch’s tool), I had a blanck page “critical error”
For repear this, I had to rename the folder of “MainWP child” plugin and then it was ok.
So, I would like to know : how can I prevent to not have this problem anymore?
I’m sorry to not have a screenshot or a message error but do you have an idea where the problem could come from ?
Hi there,
after updating to version 4.5.2, the complete design of the MainWP dashboard is broken. The last version where the design was still ok is 4.4.3.4. What can i do to have a dashboard i can work with again?
]]>I have about 12-18 sites under my MainWP Dashboard (4.5.2). All my child site plugins are up to date.
6 Child Sites have disconnected though, and won’t reconnect. (Generic ‘error’ saying to disable and re-enable the plugin on the child site).
All of these sites are on EasyWP (the WordPress side of Namecheap)
Anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution?
]]>The error when trying to reconnect them given is:
https://site-name.here/ – Undefined error!
Downgrading back to 4.5.1.3 gives a different error:
Public key already set. Please deactivate & reactivate the MainWP Child plugin and try again.
Is this behavior to be expected?
—- —- —- —-
Edit1: After restoring a backup of database and files of the Dashboard I can access them on 4.5.1.3 again, but I am afraid upgrading to 4.5.2 will break that again.
—- —- —- —-
Edit2: Yes that’s exactly what happens.
how do i globally disable the tour ?
it popsup on a fresh install and keeps popping up on all pages, very annoying, the only way to stop them is walk trough each of them.
please add stop tour button,
thanks

Hello there!
I wanted to commend you on your excellent plugin – it’s been a great addition to my website!
I have a straightforward question regarding the behavior of post content on the dashboard website after a post has been published. I’ve noticed that the post isn’t saved on the dashboard (which really seems unnecessary), is my observation correct? Or is there some hidden location on the dashboard website where it’s stored?
Furthermore, I’ve taken a look at the media gallery and noticed that the images sent to child websites are stored on the dashboard website after post submission. Is there a specific reason for keeping them on the dashboard site? Can I safely delete them? It’s curious to me that while the post itself isn’t saved, the media files are.
Thanks for your assistance!
]]>Your plugin seems to be a very convenient tool to manage multiple sites, but I am concerned about claimed privacy – it seems that at least some web requests are going through a 3rd party, e.g. via Automattic Inc (based on logged IP addresses) for capturing site images on the Manage Sites page.
I was expecting such (or rather all) requests to come from my own server, please confirm !

Hello,
As the subject says, the old interface was better. Easier to look into, recognize things, simply easier to read and look through.
I tied to reorganize tabs to make it as in the old one, but still, the size of icons, buttons, letters, etc… makes it hard to look into.
Thanks
