I’ve been searching for a self hosted LMS solution for a while. After comparing it to Lifter LMS, Masteriyo and Tutor LMS felt we had to go with MasterStudy. The interface takes a bit to get used to but the functionality, the way it looks and the ease to get it set up with it’s demo content makes it a great option for anyone looking to make their own self hosted LMS website. The price is also another factor with it being much cheaper for a unlimited lifetime license than the other options mentioned.

I had clear requirements for the LMS plugin and one of the most important ones was a lifetime subscription and the ability for the student to submit homework. This plugin worked great for me. MasterStudy LMS is a powerful and affordable LMS solution for WordPress. The course builder wizard provides an easy to use structor for organizing and managing courses. I have the plus version which allows me to assign assistant instructors. The system integrates easily with Google classrooms to all more traditional classroom features. Most of our courses are built around video content and MasterStudy LMS works flawlessly. The courses are presented in a beautiful, clean interface, with many options to fit the course content.

Generally speaking great value for money. I’ve run into a serious compatibility issue from the go though (students wouldn’t be enrolled) that turned out to be incompatibility with WooCommerce HPOS in combination with custom check out field editors. Support was willing to help, but in my opinion slow (first response after 2 business days for a high-priority problem). The issue is sent to the developers for further consideration. Assuming it will be resolved in the near future, for now I’m happy with the workaround I found (turning off HPOS).

I built some courses with another platform that is one of the industry leaders, and I must say.. I didn’t love the UI, how complex it was, and how pieced together it felt even though they were huge.
I stumbled upon Masterstudy by reading online reviews, and I gave it a chance. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised. The program is very sleek and modern, it makes sense in how it flows, and the support is very helpful. For those not sure which LMS plug to choose, look no further than Masterstudy. The Course Builder make things super easy to do and to add many premium features to your courses as well.

I created my LMS with Masterstudy and purchased the Pro Plus version and was really impressed with the seriousness of the plugin’s owners. I took the time to do exactly as shown in the documentation and when I couldn’t, I spoke to support and the theme was impeccable. I had to make adjustments, because I was in Brazil and because I wanted to customize some CSS to my liking, but the theme is really very good. Today I have 3,700 students on the platform today and everything works perfectly.
