Statistics suddenly tailed off

The website usually gets between 3,000 and 8,000 visitors per week. However, in the week of 12th – 18th August, the statistics dropped to zero and there have been no visits tracked since.

The reporting is working and if I visit the site in an incognito browser tab, the real time view shows my visit. The site has been online and functions which allow visitors to submit data have been working fine. (We have received plenty of submissions.)

Did anything change in the plugin in mid-August? Can you explain why there is no data being tracked from regular visitors?

Hello,
My site has migrated and Matomo tables deleted but the plugin was still installed even if desactivated. I’ve removed the plugin via FTP and I’m trying to resinstall it. I have those errors…

How can I delete it totally to get a full a reinstall, with the tables.

I verified plugin integrity, it seems ok, but i dont what to do..

I also have a notice…. database charset is “latin1_swedish_ci”, and i’m invited to use a terminal command to solve this (/wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/console core:convert-to-utf8mb4) But how to do with terminal access, my host doesnt allow it.

I’m encountering an issue with my WordPress site, which uses latin1 as its charset. I’m unable to create the archive table needed for November 2024, which results in failing cron jobs and an inaccessible dashboard for this month. The archive table isn’t being created, preventing the archiving process from completing.

Unfortunately, changing my charset to utf8mb4 isn’t an option, as it would break serialized data for my theme and Elementor elements. Here is the exact error message I am seeing:

Hello, I use the Matomo plugin version 5.1.2 on several WordPress sites on different hosts. And on all these sites when I go to Matomo Analytics / Start I get 2 warning messages: “Matomo cron error: An error occurred during Matomo archiving. See error details on the Diagnostics page.” and
“The Matomo diagnostics system report contains errors that may prevent the extension from working normally.”

And when I go to Matomo Analytics / Report I see a page that looks like the screenshot linked below and no access to my statistics.

Why I do see a lot of POST requests to my site like this:

? Are you processing our stats elsewhere? Is this really needed?

2. Today I see 136 visits (5PM) while on other stats plugins and GA it is around 30-40. I think your plugin is not immune to bots. Please explain.

Good day, I am currently developing locally and installing the Matomo plugin instantly crashes the entire admin dashboard. I am new to WordPress and have no idea how to debug this issue except of deleting the entire Matomo plugin folder. Any suggestions highly appreciated ??

Our institution tried to delete the plugin on a multisite but it got stuck in the web UI, showing “deleting…” forever. I want to know an alternative to delete the plugin. I want a completely removal, including removing all the tables created from the database.

My Matomo has been working fine, including today. Then sometime this afternoon I noticed I was getting the “Looks like reports for this period haven’t been processed yet” message in the stats dashboard.

This is the message in the WP diagnostics log. I don’t know what it means, why it’s happened or how to resolve it – can you help?

Hi, thanks for great plugin.
I have been using this plugin for a half year, then I realized that the translation is not reflected for most of parts in this a few weeks.

I am using in Japanese, and translation was almost perfect at the beggining.
Is there anything that you’ve changed aroud translation?

I can not change any language at personal setting.
There are no default lanugage section at config/common.config.ini.php

Would you let me know how I can change the language.

hi, I disabled WP Cron via WP config (cause litespeed error log issue with latest WP release) and enabled via cpanel Cron, but now I’ve some archiving error in matomo.

I was having a few problems with analytics, so I deleted and reinstalled the Matomo plugin. The new container seems to be working. However, I can still see the old container when I view Page Source for my site. Also, occasionally tags associated with the previous container are still being returned in Tag Manager, even though I can no longer access the old container in Tag Manager or via the plugin.

I noticed the two containers have slightly different paths when they appear in Page Source view. The new one is /wp-content/uploads/matomo/container_example.js

The old one is /wp-content/plugins/matomo/app/../../../uploads/matomo/container_example.js

Can you suggest how to delete the previous container?

I’ve tried it before with a LinkedIn campaign and it didn’t work either.
I’ve installed the Marketing Campaigns Reporting (Matomo Plugin). Doesn’t matter if that plugin is activated or deactivated – it doesn’t work.

Through SolidWP and through patchstack.com I get the warning that there is a vulnerability to Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF) in the current version of the Matomo Analytics Plugin 5.1 – but there seems to be no fix yet. Now I’m wondering if i should disable/delete the Matomo Analytics Plugin on all WordPress installations – or be patient and wait for an update? The vulnerability is rated “moderate” –?so I guess on a ‘normal’ installation the risk should be low to get hacked through this vulnerability. But it would be nice if somebody could elaborate if we should worry – and when we can expect a fix. Thank you!

It is a new site with some parts still under construction, I saw from Google Search Control that there had been some clicks, I checked and I did not know, I removed my IP from Matomo’s Balcklist, to do tests and not trace users.

I have a site that refuses to archive reports automatically or manually and I noticed on diagnostics page and error logs that Matomo seems to have trouble connecting to database because of what seems to be missing database credentials. The credentials are saved in enviroment variables and not in wp-config.php and this seems to throw Matomo off. Any workarounds for this?
