Credit appears exactly where and how I want it, but even though I selected “Open link in a new tab”, it opens it in the same tab.

]]>Hello,
Occasionally we publish photographs that require the credit, but not the caption. In those cases, the credit is displayed 60 pixels below the bottom line of the image.
Example here: https://imgur.com/sv9eiwx
Is there a way to have the credit displayed immediately below the image? And, if possible, to keep it there even in the case of photos with captions. Is this possible?
Thank you very much, excellent plugin!
]]>Hi, I want to show the media credit of an external site. The image url embedded in the page is an absolute address. Is this possible?
2nd question. In which MySQL table is de media credit info stored? Can it be exported? Currently I’m building a new website, I copied the images, but I want to keep also the meta of the images.
]]>@janvitos sorry for the long delay, but I got sidetracked. (I hope you see this, I had to create a new topic as the old one is already locked and can’t be reopened.)
Anyway, disabling wptexturize
works fine for me when done in an mu-plugin
. Where did you put your code for this? In functions.php
of your theme? I’ll see if I can delay the use (or move the filtering to the output stage), but as a workaround, you can use a PHP file in /wp-contents/mu-plugins/
to do this.
Hi. I’m maintaining a site that uses this plugin. It works perfectly for post images that ain’t thumbnails/feature images and I want to make it possible for media credits to be visible for those images too. The flag Display credit for featured images is enabled and I have been trying develop a solution on my own with the post_thumbnail_html without any result. The Worpress theme that’s being used is called The7.
Thank you in advance!
]]>I have installed the plugin and unfortunately, the credit line isn’t appearing on top of my featured image. May I email you privately so I can share my site?
thank you,

Hi peter,
Why an author or contributor can’t change this values ?
I have 403 error, and code is ‘rest_cannot_publish’.
The others fields of an image are correctly saved, but when it used your ajax resquest for yours fields it’s not saved.
Are you using specific capabilities ?

]]>Hi,
I’m trying to globally disable wptexturize in WordPress by using the following filter:
add_filter( ‘run_wptexturize’, ‘__return_false’ );
Unfortunately, Media Credit seems to break this filter somehow. After disabling the Media Credit plugin, the filter works properly.
Thanks.
]]>All of the Credit links on the site have become inactive for some reason. They were clickable since the plugin was first added a couple of years ago but recently were reduced to regular text. Links are input in the appropriate section along with names but it no longer works. Is this a bug you’re aware of/working on or something with my site? I didn’t think it is the site as it was working properly for so long.

With WordPress 5.9.3, we have this warning : “Deprecated: WP_User_Query est appelé avec un argument qui est obsolète depuis la version 5.9.0 ! who est obsolète. Utilisez capability à la place. in /homepages/44/d859170384/htdocs/site-aqui/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5607”
So can you resolve the problem by changing your call to “who” parameter by “capability” ?

I added an image with wp_get_attachment_image in a template. Is it possible to use the media credit on this image? Currently it is not displayed.

I noticed that after the lastest update, whenever we have multiple images using media credit in a post they dissapear when flipping back and forth between “text” and “visual” editors. This bug started very recently after the last updated.

Where Credit and Credit Link are shown on an individual image’s Media page, is it possible to put multiple Credits with links, such as:
John Doe, Jane Smith | Unsplash
]]>Is there a way to put different organizations instead of just one? For instance, for two separate images, there would have a total of four links between the two:
John Doe | Unsplash
John Doe | Pixabay
Optimally, in each picture’s settings in the Media Libary, there would be this option where the organization can be changed out per image:
Credit: John Doe
Credit URL: https://www.johndoe.com
Organization: Unsplash
Organization URL: https://www.unsplash.com
Is there a way to change the text that is shown before the actual credit? For example, it’s “Bilder mit freundlicher Genehmigung von” on my German site and I want to shorten it to “Bilder:”

I tried the code (found in the FAQ) in functions.php to disable the shortcode. But the shortcode still shows.
Is there a way to just have media credits active in the admin and not in the posts?
]]>Hello,
on one of my client’s sites I have an error using the plugin. When I try to change the media credit of an image the changes are not saved. I looked in the dev console and saw a 403 error on the following endpoint using a PUT request: wp-json/v2/media/53097
However, I checked the /wp-json/wp/v2/media using a GET request and I receive a 200 response with an empty array as answer. So, the endpoint seems to be available in general. But should the array be empty?
I use the Media Credit plugin in version 4.1.1 (the latest one). When I rollback the plugin to version 3.2.0 the bug doesn’t exist anymore.
Can you help me with this and give any advice why the 403 error appears?
Thanks and best regards
Nina
Hi,
When I fill out a link in the Credit URL field, it’s saved but the credit text is not a link but just text. I should point out that I altered the css a bit, so the credit shows up bottom right on the image.
Am I doing something wrong? I’m on WP 5.6.2.
Regards,
Theo

]]>I’ve been enjoying the Media Credit plugin which is working well! This might be better addressed to the Genesis Featured Posts plugin authors but I’ll ask here anyway – Is there a way to have the media credit (as well as the image caption) appear in a widget using the Genesis Featured Posts plugin?
I’d basically like to have the widget show the top portion of the post (including the image caption, media credit and the formatting of the opening byline in the post’s content area) exactly as it appears in the post itself, but just truncated at the specific number of characters – that (number of characters) parameter is already provided the Genesis Featured Posts plugin, but the other 3 items are not. I’ve looked at the descriptions of a few enhanced versions of the Genesis Featured Posts plugin, but these don’t seem to provide any of these features. Any suggestions?
]]>Great plugin! Out of the box it seems like this plugin is assigning every photo the main blog post author and the title of the blog/website. Instead, I need the photo credit to show the “photographer” and sometimes “the business associated with the photographer”.
Here’s a screenshot link – https://tinyurl.com/y5jk8emc. What should be shown in the media credit section is “Tusculum Farm Daniel Schwartz” instead of the blog post author and website name.
How do I fix this?
Many Thanks!
]]>Hi @pepe,
There is a way to hide or remove the link to the media author page, when the credit is automatically assigned to it ?
In my example bellow, the author “b b” is the post author, and there is a link to the author page, but i don’t want it.

]]>Hallo
I would like to import the credit info together with the article
I hoped for a simple ‘media_credit’ JSON parameter to /wp-json/wp/v2/media
, but that did not work.
I see there is a separate REST service, but no documentation for it
/wp-json/v1/media-credit/v1/replace_in_content
. What is that about?
In the output from GET /wp-json/wp/v2/media/$id
I find:
'media_credit': {'fancy': 'Peter XX',
'plaintext': 'Peter XX',
'raw': {'flags': {'nofollow': False},
'freeform': 'Peter XX',
'url': '',
'user_id': 7},
'rendered': 'Peter XX'},
Thanks

Hi – great plugin!
I have debugging turned on in my dev environment and this notice popped up when I activated the plugin. Just thought I’d let you know in case you haven’t seen it yet:
Notice: register_rest_route was called incorrectly. The REST API route definition for media-credit/v1/replace_in_content is missing the required permission_callback argument. For REST API routes that are intended to be public, use __return_true as the permission callback. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information.
