Hi,
I am in the process of migrating the website to a different server. To my surprise, I now see that all files and folders are not in their location. I have images that are displayed in the page, I can find them in the plugins “folder&files” location, but I cannot see them via FTP. As a result, those images are not migrated.
I should mention that I have changed the default image location from wp-content/uploads/ to a custom location in the root of the website (websitecom/files) using a plugin called “WP Original Media Path”
Do you know what might be happening and how to solve this issue?
Thank you in advance
I had a bunch of folders created and uploaded files into them. Left alone for awhile and then went back to add something but all folders have disappeared. I did look at your troubleshooting and checked but didn’t find anything. I also did the instructions on resetting the data and it didn’t bring them back either. I know the data is still there however, because everything seems to be showing up on the site. Also, there are folders showing up, they are the ones that are in the regular media area. Just not the ones that I categorized.
thanks for your advice in getting this fixed. I’m not sure how to access the files now.
Hello,
I have facing the issue that I unable to delete the folder. After I right click and select to delete the folder, but there’s showing [The folder, home, is not empty. Please delete or move files from the folder]. Even though I already delete the files from the folder, and I check is empty file, but still can’t delete the folder
Having trouble with repeated folder names… the first few uploads went well and then it went a little wild… I am hesitant to do a Reset as I saw a post from over a year ago with the same problem and the Reset didn’t resolve it… anyway if you have any ideas please let me know.. have tried to attach screenshots of plugin folders and file manager folders to show the difference. Not sure if the screenshots are loading properly…
Hello, I help maintain a site with your plugin installed on, they are getting “Directory traversal attempt detected” when creating folders using your plugin and leaves them unable to use it.
Can I confirm if this is the plugin creating this error? If so how do we prevent it from happening.

We are setting up bunny.net as a CDN and we are having problems with the custom directory we have set with Media Library Folders (/files/). The CDN does not detect what’s outside of /wp-content/plugins
Is there a way to fix it or do we have to manually upload (and later manually update) the whole directory to the CDN?

Hi @alanp57,
you already have a .webp filter for the sync folder option. Most of the new image optimization tools (e.g. Imagify) also creating .avif files. Would it be possible to add this file type to the filter list as well?
Is there a hook to just add file types additionally?
Best regards,

We had 717 images organized in different folders, so this is pretty annoying.

Dear friends
I’m looking for a media library organizer plugin. The most important feature for me is that it allows to automate the creation of a folder (named as the user_id) for every first document uploaded by a user. And after that, make it automatic that all uploads made by that user go to that folder. It’s important to notice that the users don’t have access to media library organization.
Thanks for your time, and best regards.
Lluís
Our uploads folder has 67000 files. When I view the Media Library Folders admin page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=mlf-folders8) it only shows around 500 results and there is no way to page through the results.

We’ve purchased a 3-license pro version of Media Library Folders. We hope that the license requirements apply to total live versions, and not the development or test server – or that the license only needs to be active for updates. Could you clarify your license policy. With our workflow, we normally only apply new updates to our development environment and then Git them up to Test and then Live.
Hi,
I added 2 photos directly in media library folder. They show up as 2 in media library folders. However, in file manager in that same folder there are multiple copies of different sizes (8 for each) which is WILD. This is really going to ruin my storage. Why is this happening and how do I prevent it?
Hello,
This is a fantastic plugin and is one of the only ones we can find that preserves the structure of the folder in the URL – which is incredibly helpful for one of our clients. However, we’ve got this plugin on one site and it doesn’t look like the image is uploading correctly at all – we’re not getting errors or anything, the image is just not appearing. I’ve captured a screen share of the problem.
I’ve reset the file permissions on the site. Other sites on the same server are using this plugin fine.
I have tried a number of plugins that deals with WP Media uploader, but none of them actually creates folders in FTP. Guess it has to change wp_posts table, and it may create huge problem for some cases. But this is what I need to split up my chunky image folder.
Does this plugin actually changes physical image folder locations and url in wp_posts?
Hi. Same as a past comment (see link below). When you “move” a file (not copy), the source file for the full image is left in its original folder.
Is this by design?
I’m testing this in Local By Flywheel if that makes a difference.

uploads/wpcf7_drag-n-drop_uploads/wpcf7_uploads

Only tmp_uploads shows up even after I highlight the wpcf7_drag-n-drop_uploads folder in the tree and click Sync…?
I just installed the plugin on a WP 6.3.2 site (Windows server). It is the only active plugin on the site. I used the MLF drag & drop upload area to upload a large image (3654×2436 pixels), which WP scaled down to 2560×1707, producing a “-scaled” file.
I then moved the file from the original folder to another folder. MLF stored the absolute path to the image in the _wp_attached_file
meta element, instead of the relative path. This causes all sorts of problems.
Hi, I am trying to replace images in bulk. When I upload images with the same filenames as images in a folder, it adds a -1 to the name instead of replacing the file. This makes it look like a thumbnail to the addon so it is not shown, even though it uploads. (I can see it in ftp)
Is there a way to do this I am missing?
One folder where I have most image-files, I get error window.
-var mlp_busy = false; var folders = [{"id","parent":"#","text":"uploads"."state":("opened":true,"disabled":false,"selected":false),"a_attr":{"href":"#903","target":"_self}}... and so on.
Console shows multiple: admin-ajax.php:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()
That folder like the other folders worked fine, before I added 60 more files to the one that’s showing errors.

As I see, the translating page of plugin don’t have the main plugin translate parts and said “This plugin is not?properly prepared for localization“. do you have any plan to make it translatable? as I see plugin have no such too many texts.
Hi AlanP47,
Great plugin… very useful. I have a feature request: When inserting images into a gallery, in this case “Elementor Powerfolio”, the interface that comes up is WordPress’ default Media screen, which does not show the folder structure I created.
Is there a way to make Media Library Folders the default interface to insert images anywhere?
Thanks.
I have created a folder: /iiif_manifests/
I am on a WP Multsite, so the Media Library Folders admin widget lists this as:
/114/iiif_manifests
(Where “114” is the WP Multisite site folder, presumably.)
I am trying, first, to find the absolute URL for an item in my /iiif_manifests/ folder. So I tried:
https://myserver/mysite/iiif_manifests/Aquilar.json
No joy.
So I tried:
https://myserver/mysite/114/iiif_manifests/Aquilar.json
Still no joy.
Three questions:
Many thanks!

Hi,
I have a need to create a large set of folders with predefined names. Something like this:
Folder 1
|__ Details_thumbs
|__ Home_thumbs
Folder 2
|__ Details_thumbs
|__ Home_thumbs
Is there a way to create all empty folders at once? Or perhaps a way to bulk upload the full folder structure?
Thank you, your help is appreciated.
