Difficult to show folders and synch. When uploading photo very often it crashes with an error “0” and I need to upload 1 photo at time… really really painful. User experience really bad with a feeling of not working well to upload photos.

A fantastic plugin that I have been using for probably a year now and it just works. It replaces the URL to the folders and has no performance issues [doing that] at all. It’s seamless and is very easy to use.
Thank you @maxfoundry for this great plugin!

Ever since coming upon this handy little plugin I sticked to it throughout all of my projects. It’s one of those few plugins I consider to be a must have!
Compared to other products available on the market Media Library Folders brings the most useful features even in the basic version and allows for a clean structure of your media files all the while being easy to use.
Developing is an ongoing process. If you should ever face an issue and expect this plugin to be the reason, be sure that their support will take care of you asap- no matter if you’re a paying subscriber or free user.
Thanks to the whole team behind! I have always had only the best experiences with them girls ‘n guys and it’s always been a pleasure.

This plugin works OK but it has an issue with folders. Where on occasion it will add folders without your knowledge and when you go to add a file under a folder you have added you will notice additional folders that are added without your knowledge and are empty. Regards, Robert

Gran herramienta para organizar los medeios de la página que estamos desarrollando.

This is the only plugin I found that makes real folders. This was important to us for more professional looking and shorter URLs to our images, to avoid keeping all images in the root of “uploads” (disabling Settings>Media>organize my uploads into month…), and to maintain a file structure for images that made sense, and that was real and not just virtual – because, when you need it, it’s important to see your folder structure on the server-side.
Who wouldn’t want all these things? This Plugin should be part of the standard WP install.
Thanks for such a great plugin!

This plug-in should be a part/function/option of WordPress. For any site with many images (50 or more), this organization tool is needed. My site currently has 1,058 images. I would struggle maintaining these photos without Media Library Folders for WordPress.
I use a thumbnail size of 150 Height but variable width. It would be nice if the plug-in image display could be changed to display this type of thumbnail.

I hate giving negative reviews on a product as it is more than just a product, it is their reputation as well. Lord knows that WordPress should have done something with their media library instead of making as their #1 priority the creation of the Gutenberg Editor that people in general hate.
I downloaded the free version of MLF and tried it out. Here’s what I liked and disliked about the plugin.
PROS:
– you can use the free version.
– it creates physical folders
– Author reviewed my questions within 24 hours.
CONS:
– don’t try and process more than 100 images at a time… This statement was made by the plugin author himself: # of images
– The interface could be improved. If you are moving/copying files from one folder to the next. Forget the drag and drop approach. I would have used a WordPress approach where you choose the source folder (click), the folder opens and displays all your media with checkboxes next to the image-name WITH a checkbox that can be used to SELECT ALL images displayed on a paginated screen. User can SELECT ALL from the number of media items displayed in a paginated list. WordPress does this and it works just fine.
– add a FILTER for image_name.
– Speed up the move process and don’t blame it on the fact that it has to search the entire database to update/replace the links. I don’t have the time to analyze the code in your plugin, but if it were me I would be building arrays from the wp_post_meta table and wp_posts table for each image as the first step to speed up processing.
– You would not need much memory to store post ids and image URLs. I still cannot grasp why a move operation failed processing 5000 original images and thumbnails combined and left my media library in a state where the physical folder was missing, but a virtual folder with images existed in the MLF media library. WTF.
– Show a count of items that are selected and display another count after the process.
– 2 words: Log File – Never found one.

I thought this was the best plugin, at least that is they way they sell it, and it worked on me, so I thought. The *FREE* version is CRIPPLED AF. And with the latest update 7.0.2 as of this writing, they think they have a cash-cow by switching to a YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION. I am sorry, it is bad enough we are getting rapped by our hosting companies and ICANN for website leases, WE ARE NOT PAYING A YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION if the *FREE* version is CRIPPLED. I am fed up with all companies thinking we have such deep pockets to move to a YEARLY SUBSCIPTION MODEL. You need a check-up from the neck-up. Currently looking for REPLACMENT MANAGER that WORKS AS ADVERTIZED without PAYING YEARLY! Look for something else website owners, these people are trying to take us for a ride!

The plugin may do what it needs to do, but the free version is useless. You can put your media into folders, but if you wnat to use, you still need to rely on the standard media gallery to find and select images and documents. If you want to use the folder structure, you need to upgrade to the pro version, so this is crippleware.

We have had this plugin for two years and it’s been a love-hate relationship Actually not much on the love side. Moving things into folders is impossible–if you don’t get them there somehow when you import, they are stuck in the general pool (Just updated in case they caught up on this). They are most anxious to have you renew–ignoring the need to update versions for security reasons. We haven’t found anything better, so it’s “use it or have a few thousand images loose in one pool” The search feature DOES work well if you have a good title on the image. The folders DO work well if you get the image in the correct folder to start with. We will stay with it, but hope the developers note their shortcomings and update.

Really happy to find this FREE solution to a messed up media library. It allows me to drag/drop media items onto folders/subfolders and it moves the image (or copies it if you want) AND updates the database so that links don’t break. What a time and headache saver! Also great Support

This makes image management so much easier. Having a logical folder structure, that is easy to manage, with a simple point and click interface makes things much better.
The only annoyance I’ve found, is that after posting this, I still can’t remove the banner asking for a review, when trying to dismiss it, or tell them I already reviewed, I get an error stating “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”
Without that annoyance, I’d give 5 stars.

Installed this plugin and spent 3 unproductive hours trying to upload two pdf files to a new folder. The first pdf file did what I wanted, the second would only upload to the root ‘uploads’ folder. Tried moving, then deleting and reuploading, several times. Would not work. Then noticed that I couldn’t upload files to the regular year/month folders in Media Library, because this plugin changes a setting at the WordPress General Settings level. Uninstalling this plugin, and regretting my purchase.
