Hi,
I tested your plugin with other useful plugin – Media File Renamer – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-file-renamer/
It doesn’t work well.
On Edit Media File page ( wp-admin/post.php?post=390&action=edit ) I change name of media file “old.jpg” from name “Old” to name “New”. There is no other file with filename “new.jpg” or name “New” or slug “new”.
Nevertheless it renames slug to “prefix-new-2” (there is always “-2” in the end).
How to fix it?
I use your plugin only with one active option in settings:
post prefix: “prefix”
I use Media File Renamer with default settings, instead of:
Sync Slug Permalink: Slug = Filename “yes”
Sync GUID: GUID = Filename “yes”
Thanks,
Jiri
Hi,
great plugin, thanks.
I would by happy if you add this feature:
set custom post prefix by file extension
Like:
.jpg – “images” – dog.jpg -> /images-dog/ (or /photogallery-dog/ etc.)
.pdf – “files” – pricing.pdf -> /files-pricing/ (or /pdf-pricing/ etc.)
etc.
I think it would be great for SEO and urls will be more beautiful.
Thanks again,
Jiri
Hi,
great plugin, by the way.
It would by great if you improve behavior of permalinks of images with duplicit names for users who use your prefix feature.
I have your prefix feature set to “image-“.
I create post “My Post” – it has slug “my-post” and url https://www.domain.com/my-post/
I upload image “my-post.jpg” – it has slug “image-my-post-2” and url https://www.domain.com/image-my-post-2/
I upload duplicit image “my-post.jpg” – it is renamed to “my-post-1.jpg” and it has slug “image-my-post-2-2” and url https://www.domain.com/image-my-post-2-2/
I upload another duplicit image “my-post.jpg” – it is renamed to “my-post-2.jpg” and it and it has slug “image-my-post-2-3” and url https://www.domain.com/image-my-post-2-3/
The best scenario is:
Image “my-post.jpg” – slug “image-my-post”
Image “my-post-1.jpg” – slug “image-my-post-1”
Image “my-post-2.jpg” – slug “image-my-post-2”
The good scenario is:
Image “my-post.jpg” – slug “image-my-post”
Image “my-post-1.jpg” – slug “image-my-post-2”
Image “my-post-2.jpg” – slug “image-my-post-3”
Please consider this small feature ??
]]>Hello Sami,
i use WP Job Manager, and look for a way to prefix the job ID with the images uploaded , would that be possible with your plugin?
Thanks in advance
Keep de good work.
It still shows https://domain-name.com/?attachment_id=XX#main
where XX is the ID number of the image.
What went wrong?
