Hello. I noticed in the code:

Is that the max users it will worth it?

If so, can I change this to 100,000?

I found a small typo in the class tag for the author link. It’s:

.mks_autor_link_wrap

I am interested in altering the Biographical information on my WordPress profile and in the space for Biographical information in the ABOUT AUTHOR section of the homepage on the website that is below.

I have logged in and typed in updated Biographical information in the Biographical Info section of my profile on WordPress.com, and have clicked Update Profile at the bottom of the page. Despite these things, Biographical information does not change in the About Author section on the site that is above.

Would you help me acquire information that would help enable me to alter Biographical information on my profile for WordPress.com, and in the ABOUT AUTHOR section of the homepage of the website mentioned above?

Can you add auto detection of the author also for pages?

I did it by adding is_page() to the conditional statement in meks-smart-author-widget-template.php. Previous:

if($instance['auto_detect']){
	if(is_author()){
		$obj = get_queried_object();
		$user_id = $obj->data->ID;
	} elseif(is_single()){
		$obj = get_queried_object();
		$user_id = $obj->post_author;
	}
}

Changed to:

if($instance['auto_detect']){
	if(is_author()){
		$obj = get_queried_object();
		$user_id = $obj->data->ID;
	} elseif(is_single() || is_page()){
		$obj = get_queried_object();
		$user_id = $obj->post_author;
	}
}

Now I’d prefer an update proof solution and would appreciate, if you can add auto detect support for pages.

Hi, is it possible to use this plugin to show the Author details of the vendor who added a WooCommerce product to a site’s store?

My site uses the Dokan Vendors plugin which enables users to upload WooCommerce products, can a product be treated like a post and display its author’s info in the widget?

I have a problem with the plugin configuration:
1. In order to show the author avatar in the ‘Blog – single post’ page I needed to choose ‘hide on selected pages’ and select all pages, except for the single post page.
2. I cannot find a way to show the avatar in the page which show all posts by a selected author.

Hi, I went through some previous questions here and I added the following CSS to my child theme in order to center the text and add a bit of padding between the text and the avatar.

.mks_author_widget img{
  -webkit-border-radius: 50%;

  border-radius: 50%;
	padding-bottom:15px;
}
.mks_author_widget {
	text-align:center;
}

I now want to make the avatar size responsive and for it to exist on a separate line above the text, that way when the avatar gets smaller it doesn’t wrap with the text, it will always be above it. Currently if the avatar size is pre-set in the widget, it stays that size across the board. But as the screen size gets smaller, I want the avatar to get smaller too, so it will always resize to 100% or 75% of the widget area.

Is there a way to do the following with this widget:

1. Add social media accounts to author profile and displayed on the widget (with link click)
2. Add email address to author profile and display on the widget (with link click)
3. Add telephone number to author profile and display on the widget (with link click)
4. Add onclick event to tell Google Analytics which link/icon was clicked.

I know the last one is likely to work out of the box, but I’m guessing the others have been asked for before.

I only do not understand how is possibile to change fonts, colors, etc.

I tried to modify the style.css file in the css subfoldet but it did not change the front end result.

I really like it and am using it frequently.

But. A shortcode integration is much needed… Sometimes it can be really annoying to integrate via sidebar.. So why is there no shortcode to display the widget??

The widget doesn’t appear to be showing the correct author in many cases. In my case, the admin user shows up on post pages, archive pages and user pages.

Thank you for this great plugin! When testing it I noticed that the option to change the avatar size in the widget settings does not have any effect on the size of the author image on the front page. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Is it possible to make something like this in your plugin without a lot of coding?

I downloaded and installed Meks Smart Author Widget and it is indeed working. However the result doesn’t look anything like the examples and I don’t see ways to edit that?

I don’t see a way to center the gravatar, or break the text so it starts under it instead of wrapping, etc. It seems like there has to be a way to do this, but I can’t for the life of me find it in the documentation or settings. Any help?

Been looking for this plugin as it suits what I am trying to do. The challenge is that some authors have really long description forcing the widget to take all the space in the sidebar ans pushing far below other widgets.
I know the limiting feature may be added in the future but is their a workaround we can use pending that time? Maybe a code in the function.php file? Otherwise in my case, I will not be able to use it.

First, I love your plug-in! It provides me the flexibility I always wanted to display author info.

Here’s an example of how it currently looks on my site (top of sidebar, left).

I created a ‘guest’ custom author role, and I want to add code on a separate line below author name and above the ‘time_ago’ to display the role only for authors assigned as ‘guest’.

Could anyone help me out?

Suddently the Meks Smart Author dont show the author description in the sidebar. It is checked of in the widget setup and there is a description in the user/profile.

Have anyone experienced this as well. any suggestions?
