I was a little concerned because the plugin hadn’t been updated in a while. However, when a more current alternative plugin failed to do what I needed it to, I tried this one.

Creating members-only areas on WP websites is made quite easy by this plugin. Still, one has to be careful with search results and archives as they can contain excerpts of members-only content.
A more nuanced set of options, like having an additional members-only search index, would be welcome. Nevertheless, the plugin is useful and highly recommended!

I really liked this plugin but I had a problem…my galleries stopped working correctly. When you clicked a gallery image, it showed just the large view of the image but did not present in the carousel mode. So I started disabling plugins. When I disabled “Member Access” the galleries worked fine in all browsers.
