Paid for and extension $39. Never received to download, sent numerous messages and no response. Thats considered a scam. Also looks pretty messed up during a pandemic taking peoples money when they use these add ons to make money. I would like a refund if you see this, when I get it, I will change it.

I’ve been trying to reach the developers of this plugin for help with various bugs as well as customer service issues and have not received ANY reply whatsoever. I paid for a premium add-on and didn’t get it, and honestly, the worst part is the total lack of communication or responsiveness. Bugs happen, but there is no excuse for shoddy service.

I installed the free version of Membership by Supsystic plugin . It has some nice features, but it also has some serious problems:
(1) Registration using your Membership plugin’s Registration form does not work at all. This means registration of new users has to be done by WordPress or another plugin such as BuddyPress.
(2) Even if we let WordPress or BuddyPress handle the registration process, we encounter the following problem. Every time a user makes an entry on his activity’s wall, the following phrase appears under his name “Invalid Date”, most likely refers to “Registration Date”. It seems that you have “Registration Date” feature that does not work at all. Either fix the whole registration process or at remove the “registration date” feature, because it very annoying to see “Invalid Date” appearing every time a user make any activity.
(3) Your Membership plugin does not recognize Gavatar photos. For example, both of WordPress and BuddyPress recognize my Gravatar photo, yet on the same site, your Membership plugin does not recognize my Gravatar even though I clicked the option for Gravatar in Profile settings.
(4) I also recommend adding the ability for Users and Groups to show photos/avatars in their profiles by an external URL linked to a remote site that stores images/photos, meaning without uploading the photo/avatar to the site where your Membership plugin is installed.
(5) Some of emojis / emoticons that can added to the posts on the Activity wall do not work most of the time. It seems they are stored on servers which are not reliable. I suggest the following:
(a) you remove those unreliable emojis / emoticons
(b) allow the administrator to upload the emojis / emoticons to his server
(c) allow the administrator to choose which emojis / emoticons to display on his site.
(6) There are serious English grammar mistakes in many of the messages in your Membership plugin. I can send a complete list of the mistakes and how they should be re-phrased. For example, “Profile is not exists” should be “Profile does not exist”, and “This user is restrict access to his profile” should be “This user has restricted access to his profile”.
I informed Supsystic in their Forum regarding these problems and also sent an email message to Supsystic 5 days ago. Supsystic did not reply in their Forum and I have not received any reply from Supsystic by email.

Sorry, installing this completely blew up my site, killed menu and other css. Has a ton of functions, which I don’t need either, so this was an overkill but can’t test anything as no point in trying to reset page design. Still, strongly recommend you test your site before you configure this to your liking, as it may be time wasted.

Although this plugin works well enough for the most part, there is a feature that claims to allow for a user to return to the last page visited after logging in. This does not work, and I posted to the forums about it.
After a few messages posted back and forth, the developer insisted that the feature DOES work, but it doesn’t.
Tech support for this plugin is slow and ultimately in this case, refused to fix the bug.

Easier to use than other membership plugins and good design.

When I try to make a test comment on a topic in my group board, the spinner just hangs.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Just when I had given up on looking for a free membership plugin that works, I stumbled on this great plugin. No other compares to this. It has many features but yet is simple and easy to understand especially for a less savvy WordPress user like myself. I wish I can rate it more than 5 stars. The only issue is that the plugin took away my footer copyright credits, I don’t know why.

Very thoughtful, features are added with every update. Friendly interface. For example, in a previous update the team introduced badges, which is really cool. In the last update I’ve noticed ability to add points for an individual user. That is something that will cost money to implement, but included in a free version. Nice. Thank you very much for your work, will try other plugins.

Best Membership Plugin

Initially I considered this plugin great, as it has many features, it is customisable and functions better than other similar plugins I’ve tried. Unfortunately, while building my website I discovered problems that are quite serious for anyone who wants to build a professional social network.
First of all, I posted my questions on their forums, in the Pre-sale Questions section, stating clearly that I am interested in purchasing some of the pro add-ons if some issues can be resolved. At the top of the page says “Average response time for basic support is 12 hours.” It’s been almost 3 days now and still no answer; and imagine that I’m a potential PAYING customer! I searched the forums for some time looking for answers and I noticed that in several cases questions are answered after many days, and sometimes not at all. There’s even a guy who posts a question, gets no answer and after one and a half month he posts again that he sorted the problem himself, but is not pleased that he got no reply. Nobody has bothered at least to say they are sorry. Not at all promising.

Now about the specific issues:
1) The Activity feed. I created some test profiles, with friends and followers. When a user is viewing the activity feed, they don’t just see the posts of their followed users and joined groups, as it should be, but everything. And although there is an activity filter, there is no option to change that. In my opinion, this is the biggest problem of the plugin, because when people join a social network they expect to see the posts that interest them and not have to search among thousands of posts they don’t care about.
Funnily, in the plugin documentation under Overall Activity it says:
– For Membership user – all news of this membership user, his friends or followed users, joined or followed groups.
– For Membership Guest – all news of Membership Community.
So they claim that the activity feed is filtered for membership users and they see only posts of friends, followed users etc. and only guests have to see all news. Not at all true unfortunately.

2) Problematic search function. Instead of a global search box, there’s a Search page. You have to navigate to that page and there you can search only for posts. You have to go to the Members page to search for user profiles and to the Groups page to search for groups. Tedious and frustrating. You can add a search box, but it doesn’t work. I’ve tested many search plugins, the WP search widget and the theme’s search box. None of them work and I always get the message “Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms.” Not a minor issue, considering that people in social networks search a lot about stuff.
3) Share button malfunction. The Activity feed has a share button, to share posts in your profile and your friends profiles. But when you click to share a post, you get an error message “invalid date”. Personally I could live without it, but the problem is that it can’t be turned off. If you uncheck it in settings, it simply means that when a user shares a post, this action doesn’t appear on the activity feed. But the button is always there. So, we are forced to have a malfunctioning button and that doesn’t look good.
4) No global notifications. A user must be on his profile page to see new friend requests and messages. There should be a global notifications icon.
5) Language issues. There are grammar mistakes in some messages and elsewhere (e.g. login and logout should be two words, user name should be username etc.) In some cases these cannot be corrected and that looks bad on a serious website.
6) New members approval. If you choose to manually approve new members, you must do it from the WordPress settings; if you approve them from the plugin settings, they don’t get the notification email. The problem is that in WordPress settings you must approve them one by one, only in the plugin settings you can bulk approve them. But then they won’t get the approval email. That’s not a problem for a site that expects a few new members every day, but for a site that expects hundreds it’s huge.
7) Usernames appear always in lower-case letters, even if you capitalise them when registering. Small detail, but I think it doesn’t look nice and usernames should appear exactly as users register them.
8) Would be nice if there was one-on-one chat, like FB Messenger. Maybe it is possible with the Live Chat plugin? Never got an answer.
9) I’d like my users to be able to upload their own image-video-audio galleries on their profiles. Also asked if it is possible with the Gallery plugin, again no answer…
I honestly think that this plugin has great potential and judging it in and of itself I’d have given it 2 stars (maybe 2.5 if possible). It drops to 1 because of the bad support and the misleading documentation. No users should be ignored in the forums, and since Supsystic cannot answer in 12 hours on average (sometimes it takes days), they should change it to something more realistic and truthful. Also, it is a must to fix the activity issue or at least change the documentation (although the latter wouldn’t be the best approach).
Still I believe that if some of the more important issues are resolved (1, 2 & 3 in my opinion), it can be a very good or even great plugin. I wrote this very long and detailed post so that others might know about these issues beforehand, but mostly hoping that it will be an incentive for the developers to make the plugin suitable for professional creations.
Thanks

Best Plugin with features like Groups,Chat,Timeline, custom formbuilder etc
Even the high rated plugins like Ultimate member don’t have features like Groups, chat, timeline etc inbuilt. Its too light weight also and don’t even create mess in the website by installing too many plugins/addons….I would say its alternative to Ultimate Member…
I have suggestion that can you please add Regrex,Conditional Fields, hooks and some code sample to customize the templates easily…..
At last Bestest plugin

Great product, with interesting features, stunning for a free and open source plugin. It is growing and with exceptional development potential, with excellent support and always attentive to users’ needs.

This is by far the best membership plugin and I am amazed it is free. Does so many things in a simple to use interface, and offers many customization options that other plugins, including paid ones don’t offer. As if this wasn’t enough of a reason to try it, their support is top-notch. They reply promptly and are incredibly helpful in resolving issues. Couldn’t be happier with this product and the way it works for our website. Thank you so much.
