adding classes can be done using javascript too.
for example, cache whole menu only once, and in wp_footer add the hook to determine current category/post/page/author… etc… if is included in NAV-menu, and if yes, then with javascript, add CLASSES or etc…
Can you write example code how to change cache time?
]]>There is a huge need for this type of a plugin, I’m amazed more people don’t notice how bad the WP menu is when you get a few level deep, so Koodos! However saying you shouldn’t use this if you have a HUGE amount of posts/pages is VERY relative. you should give some type of idea of how many posts you are talking about, HUGE to you may be 50, 100, 500, 10,000
