It strikes me bad when some developer just shuts down and disappears.
Not information to the users, not a single word.
I would NEVER trust Mingle forum again.
bye.

Can you please add if ($post !== null)
before line 711 to check if a post is available?

Worked fine at first but for the last couple of months new users can’t log-in. Tested it myself. Once created, entered the new log-in info and it just continues to say password is incorrect. Information is correct so what gives?
If someone would help it would be appreciated but since no one replies from support and new users can’t use this it’s basically useless, have wasted time in the forum for the last year and have to give it the lowest rating.

just disapointing when searching to publishing the first new post ??
It would be nice to put the New forum button more visible (in the admin area)

Everything works perfectly

While I can set user groups and forum topic headings easily. When it came to actually writing a posting, I could NOT figure out how. Nice! So, I can have topic headings but no content? Maybe I’m missing something, but it really shouldn’t be this difficult. Also, I found no help in the videos – the videos must not be up to date because what they showed on their screens looked NOTHING like what I see on mine. Absolute disappointment! I’m switching to bbPress instead.

This is very simple to set up and it’s indeed lightweight. Pretty good yslow scores, etc. … And I like the overall aesthetics.
Now, for the final thing — this could be a 6 star plugin if we could find a way to include Facebook / Twitter login / registration capabilities.
I recommend this over BBpress or whatever it’s called and WPBB, which has Facebook integration but nobody can get it to work and the support author doesn’t reply to anything anymore.
Great work authors, and if you ever have plans to integrate Facebook/Twitter login & registration, I’d love to know about it!

I’ve tried BBbuddy or whatever, and WPBB … but Mingle was the simplest to set up and utilize. That’s what I wanted — simple and lightweight.
Now this would get a SIX star rating if we could somehow integrate a Facebook and Twitter login / registration to the plugin.
Is that possible?
Regardless, great work!

I have spent ages trying to find a decent solution for our forums, have tried all the other offerings and found problems with each. Mingle does exactly what I need, loads quickly and looks awesome too.

I use this on our cycling club forum and it has all the tools necessary for an informal club. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a simple to use forum tool that easily integrates with WordPress.

I installed this forum earlier today and had no problems what so ever installing it. It really was a clean and smooth install and just as easy as installing any other plugin in WordPress.
I had one issue when creating new users, but I watched this video and it walked me right through it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t66BST_kU6g
So far the only thing that keeps Mingle Forum from getting 5 stars is that it’s pretty difficult to change the skin. This really has to be a lot easier in my opinion.
But other than that it’s really great and easy to use.

Hi,
The developpers of this plugin forgot the most important point of the internet, page titles!
Each post does not have a single page title, therefore Google will hate it!
Shame..it was such good forum…

One of if not the best WP forums out there, and with version 1.1.x Mingle definitely positions itself as the most full featured WP forum wit the lightest footprint and easiest install. Base theme is great and the themes available for download are also very solid.
Thank you so much @cartpauj for your work!

I set up the forum and thought everything was moving along great until I realized you cannot create a post in the forum. There is no way to allow a user to post anything in a forum…
…kind of defeats the purpose, right?

I’ve been using mingle for about two years now. It’s easy to set up, and easy to use. I don’t think it’s being seriously supported much any more, though I do occasionally get an update.
My only complaint is the comment windows. Users don’t have a Preview, and they can’t easily make they’re comments look nicer with HTML buttons. IS this because of security that html is not included?
Anyway, it is a great plugin if you want forums. I’ve not had anything break. I did have a conflict with Jetpack, and had to remove Jetpack and use a different stats plugin.
I do recommend Mingle, and hope the developer continues to develop it and add features.

Good integration with WP but the forum itself doesn’t work – can’t post new topics, threads, comments… Incomplete & inefficient backend for moderators, requires manual input of all new users. Nice idea but needs much work to be viable.

Bunlara ra?men güzel bir eklenti.

I like this plugin, the ads options is fixed now.
Thanks.

The Mingle Forum plugin seems to offer a decent set of features and I would like to use it, but there is a conflict between Mingle Forums and Jetpack’s Share module that causes the forums to display multiple times on a single page. This is a deal breaker for me as I need my twitter sharing. If not for this, I’d give Mingle a 4 or 5 star rating.
The author claims it’s the fault of Jetpack and there is nothing he can do about it, but Simple Press doesn’t have this issue. I am not sure what the reality of the situation is. Regardless, if you don’t need to use JetPack then Mingle seems to be a good forum plugin. If you do, then you should probably look elsewhere for your forums solution. (And don’t do Simple Press unless you are willing to fork out some cash for support.)

Complexity does not guarantee excellence in all cases! This plugin, although simple and easy to use, but have the most majority of features needed for basic to moderate forums.

very good plugin forum ??

I use Mingle Forum on all 16 of my Blogs. It’s the easiest forum to install, and setup. Although it could do with a few new features as it’s a bit behind the likes of vBulletin, and I’d like to see a better YouTube embedded links. Hopefully the developers will see these recommendations and make a few changes very soon. Thanks, Tech News365.
Oh, and hyperlinks show the full URL link, can you make them so they only show some text, with the link embedded.
I’d recommend installing a few additional wp-plugins for security too. I use the following:
1. Bad Behavious
2. SABRE
3. Secure WordPress

This plugin would be nice, if it would run as it should.
If you let your users post at the forum without registration but captcha, no admin can edit posts anymore and if you activate posting with registration you cannot edit posts because you′ve not enough rights…
=> deadlock

Have 404 error issues whenever this plugin is activated. Had to remove it. Support forum seems abandoned. Many users are having issues and not getting support.

]]>Looks absolutely horrible.
If you go to the creator’s site, be prepared for more eye-gouging ugliness with forum posts that blink like a 13-year-old Myspace girl’s profile from 2004.
Prepare also to be assailed by approximately 15 Google ads per square inch of pixelspace.
Eeek!
You have been warned ….
