Hi,
This plugin does not work with the latest version of WordPress.
Can this plugin moderate user submitted posts? Like stop posts with links, stop spam posts etc..
Thanks
Right now all moderators are receiving email notifications and are able to access all forums to moderate.
I would like different people to have access to different forums.
Is this possible?
I did assign the username under moderators section on the forums page. However that did not seem to have an impact.
Hi there,
For around 2 weeks I will have a new forum topic open for users, whereby, during this time, all users that post questions will have their post helf for moderation. This tool makes that possible, so thx. But I only want to do it for one part of the forum and users who use the rest of the forum should be able to post freely (as long as they are registered and have “participant” status).
Is there any way to to apply the lock to only one forum topic and all of its sub topics?
thx
The problem mentioned in this post is still not working. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/add-user-moderation-flag-doesnt-work-as-expected/
The “Add user Moderation Flag” option does not work when I set “Reply Threading” (an option in the Settings>Forums menu) to “Enable threaded (nested) replies 2 or more levels deep”.
Would it be possible to fix that?

Plugin Name: bbPress - Moderation Tools
Description: Extends the basic bbPress moderation tools to give you more control over your Forum.
Author: Digital Arm
Version: 1.2.4
Author URI: https://www.digitalarm.co.uk
Text Domain: moderation-tools-bbpress
Domain Path: /languages/
*/
(The last two lines with Text Domain and Domain Path)
And add something like
function mtfb_load_plugin_textdomain() {
load_plugin_textdomain( 'moderation-tools-bbpress', false, dirname( plugin_basename( __FILE__ ) ) . '/languages/' );
}
add_action( 'plugins_loaded', 'mtfb_load_plugin_textdomain' );
It’s completely localized with the right functions but it’s missing the last bit.
Please feel free to apply it or introduce it in the place you feel it fit best.
I’ve found this page is broken
https://sites.google.com/digitalarm.co.uk/bbpress-moderation-tools/
I would like to extend the plugin by introducing moderation features to certain user groups in the forum.
For example: if I have a group called “Limited Users” all of their posts go to the moderation queue.
Any ideas of where I can find this docs?
I’m running a small, closed community where everyone is trusted and should be able to post pretty much whatever they’d like without needing any input or approval from the moderator.
Under the “Moderation Options” section of the settings for the plugin, my assumption was that selecting “Hold for moderation -> None” and de-selecting both “Topics” and “Replies” in the “Moderate” section would disable all moderation, but users are still seeing their forum topics that include links set to “Pending” upon submission ??
Is there something more / different I need to do to completely remove the need for any moderation? Something in the UI would be ideal of course, but a code solution would work as well…
Thanks!
Hi,Email notifications going to moderators show all the moderator’s email address in the “To” section.
I would rather hide the email addresses for privacy.
Is there a way to use BCC, or another system, so that moderator’s emails aren’t revealed to each other?
Thank you,
Sam
Hi,
I’m using bbPress – Moderation Tools to moderate forum topics.
Is it possible to redirect to [bbp-topic-index] after new topic submitted?
Thanks
Hi
I see “This plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.”
Could you confirm whether it is safe to use this plugin, now and in foreseeable future.
many thanks
Would it be possible to change the class associated with the Unapprove function.
Right now It’s using the same class as the default BBPress edit function.
I’m using a pseudo element to add an icon to the BBPress edit button, your Unapprove button get’s the same icon because it uses the same class.
This is the class bbp-reply-edit-link
Is it possible to rename in some way without modifying the plugin?
Doesn’t matter if it’s an update, or even a php function that could print a new class ??
Thanks
Just recently after upgrading WordPress and plugins something weird started happening. Not all keymasters and moderators are being notified of new flagged posts. I have two administrators/keymaster users. I am one and I get notified, and the other does not. Any ideas?

When editing a user’s topic/reply, there is a link/button to set moderation for that user on. This is potentially really useful.
But how do I determine which users have this flag set?
The ‘Moderation Flag’ is the same for moderated and unmoderated users. For users who I know have it set, the button still shows as ‘Moderation Flag’ rather than changing from ‘Moderate User’ to ‘Unmoderate User”, so I don’t know what clicking on it will do – moderate or unmoderate?
The ‘Block user’ flag changes to ‘Unblock User’, which is helpful.
Perhaps I have missed something. Please can you explain?
Also what does the ‘Add User’ button do, please?
Thanks for a great plugin.
I noticed there’s an old ticket https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/topic-freshness-not-updated/ on this same thing, but I couldn’t find any confirmation if that issue had already been fixed or not. This topic can be closed if that feature is not yet added.
WP version 5.1.1 (also tested with 4.9.10)
BBPress version 2.5.14
Moderation tools version 1.2.4
Topic freshness (_bbp_last_active_time etc.) is not updated when Approve action is done via front-end.
Hello,
I have moderation required on all posts but I cannot edit a post that is awaiting moderation form the front end. The edit button is there but it will not allow me to edit the post until after I approve it.
This is the whole reason I want to have moderation on my forum, so I can change things before they are posted.
Please advise how I can accomplish this without doing it form wordpress back end.
I don’t want an email each time a user reports a post. I have a very active forum (2,148 topics and 32,128 replies since Jan 1). If I turn on this feature, is there a way to view all reported posts from the Dashboard rather than being notified by email. My email would be flooded. With high activity in our forums, it isn’t practical to look at every topic and replies to find user reported content.
Hi, thanks for the great plugin.
I have a problem related to my setup.
Whenever user posts a topic directly afterwards its directed to the 404 page.
Author is redirected to 404 if he/she wants to view his/her topic awaiting moderation:
ex:
site.com/forum/?post_type=topic&p=55756
On the other hand, admin can view the this link above.
It’s somehow strange. I need to check the portion of your code where you check if a user can see the topic which is awaiting moderation.
It would be great, if you can tell me where to check.
Thank you.
Hello,
I saw in the reviews that you helped someone with this.I want to be able to have a few forums that require approval and I need some that don’t require any moderation. Please help!
Hello,
When i click the “Add User Moderation Flag” link next to a user all of the users in that topic get flagged. Outside that topic the user doesn’t get flagged.
i think as the name says the user should get flagged for moderation for everything he writes not all users in the topic. Is this a bug or do I misunderstand the purpose of this link?
The first screenshot shows the link that I click in order to flag a user for moderation:
https://snag.gy/2cXHkz.jpg
The second screenshot shows what happens after I clicked the link. All users of the topic are getting flagged for moderation:
https://snag.gy/clWyXE.jpg
How can I whitelist a user (or users) so that their posts will never be held for moderation? Is there a plugin or function available?
I’m using the current versions of WP, buddypress, bbpress, Kleo, on a digitalocean cloud server running the latest versions of Ubuntu, nginx, and MariaDB.

This is a feature request.
At the moment the moderation settings apply to all forums.
I would need to moderate only one of 5 forums.
Is there a possibility to filter that plugin so it only works on specific forums?
The best solution would be to have the moderation settings available on the “edit forum” page for every forum separately instead of the general forums setting page. But any way to make the plugin forum specific would be very welcome. Even some additional code.
I would also pay a small amount for that feature.
When I approve a reply from the front-end button, I get two PHP warnings logged:
Warning: Missing argument 4 for gdbbx_attachments_front::save_reply() in /home/antipole/public_html/ovni-owners-test-site/wp-content/plugins/gd-bbpress-toolbox/modules/attachments/front.php on line 175

I have tested this with the minimum of plug-ins active, namely: bbPress; gd bbpress toolbox; bbPress Moderation Tools; Error Log Monitor; Log Emails,; Stop emails & User Switching.
I have been in contact with the author of gd-bbpress-toolbox, who advises:
This is a problem caused by the ‘bbPress Moderation Tools’ plugin that executes bbPress actions ‘bbp_new_reply’ and ‘bbp_new_topic’ with wrong signature (some arguments are missing). My plugin depends on that fifth argument. If any plugin should run the actions bbPress runs in its core, they need to match the arguments, and this plugin is not doing that, so I can’t help you with it until the author of the plugin fixes it. You can try contacting plugin author to fix the plugin,
Can you look at this, please.
Hi… I have been using the plugins bbPress Moderation and Pending submission Notifications on my site. They work for me but have some drawbacks (1) when a topic or reply is approved, no notification was being sent. (2) There is no visual feedback to the user when a topic or reply is held for moderation. I have fixed (1) by adding some code to Pending Submissions Notifications (see below).
I have now discovered bbPress Moderation Tools and would like to use it instead. I really like the options available and that pending topic/replies are visible to the author and admins. However, I have a couple of problems.
(A) A pending reply cannot be edited in the front end, even by an Admin. [This is not essential as it can be done in the backend.]
(B) If a topic or reply is approved in the backend, no notifications are sent to subscribers. [Given (A) approval in the backend is essential.]
I fixed the problem (1) above by adding some code to a copy of Pending Submission Notifications. The plugin hooks onto the transition_post_status action and thus gets fired whenever a post status changes whether in the front or backend. I have a modified copy here. You can see the code I added at lines 66 et seq. I have the reply bit commented out because bbPress handles notifications.
I suggest that bbPress Moderation Tools hook onto the transition_post_status action as I do in the above code. It would then work whether approval is given in the front or backends.
What say you?
Hi,
Does this plugin allow you to set up a forum where all posts / replies require approval before being published in the forum?
Thanks in advance
John
??
Hello!
Thanks for your plugin, it is simple and does the job!
Though I would suggest to introduce a usermeta as well, so you can avoid making a query every time someone post a comment in order to check if they already have published replies/topics. In a large forum where users post a lot and there are a lot of topics/replies, this could be quite an expensive task..
the flow when you do the moderations checks in moderation.php could be as simple as:
– check if user has the metafield “already_approved” and if its value is true
– if it is, then skip moderation.
– if the metafield is not there or value is not true, then do the query as currently
– if the user do have published replies/topics, also set “already_approved” to be true for this user.
– next time this user post a comment the first check will automatically skip moderation
p.s. another small note, the check for “links” seems to be picking up images too, not sure if would be better to check specifically for the actual html
tag
cheers!
This plugin should be setup in a way that when a post is held for moderation it should not display on forum topic index in front end, until it has been approved from back by a moderator,
also it should be in such a way that you can turn on and off for reply separately from topic.
I run a very big forum https://www.nforum.com.ng and its annoying when i see a topic held for moderation displaying in front end for participant.
Please look into this.
