Hi Team,
After the WordPress Update to 6.7 MEC plugin is all in English instead of German Formal (mec-de_DE_formal.mo).
Why?
As a workaround I have copied all language files into wp-content/languages/plugins
Usually, I have the translation files in the plugins/modern-event-calendar/languages directory.
Could you please explain why this happens after this WordPress Update and why it did only helped to copy the translation files into wp-content/languages/plugins directory?
Thanks a lot in adance for your help – it will be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Brigitte
Hello,
I’ve double checked the settings, and even used a few different shortcodes, but I can’t get the calendar to default to the Current Week.
Skin: Weekly View
Style: Classic
Start Date:
Start of Last Month/Current Month/Next Month: all work correctly.
Current Week/Next Week/Last Week/On a Certain Date: all default to the first week of the month.
All plugins and WordPress are up to date. The problem started before I updated WordPress and one other plugin. I’ve dumped the cache between changes to the settings.
When it’s set to a week setting that isn’t the first week (like Current, but not Last), it actually flashes “Week 2” (or whatever week it’s supposed to be) before loading Week 1 the way it is now.
I checked for multiple day events to see if it was defaulting to last week because of a multiple day event, but they’re all single day.
I changed the Single Event Display Method to all the options, didn’t work.
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
does anybody know, how to extend the search filter by week day?
Thanks for any ideas!

]]>Hi,
We would like to completely remove the tooltip for the mobile version of our website. Currently, visitors have to double-click on any event to open the single event page, which is causing confusion. We are using layout “Calendar/Monthly View”.
If possible, we’d prefer to make the tooltip link directly to the single event page on mobile, so a single click opens the event page. If that’s not feasible, we would like to disable the tooltip entirely on mobile and ensure that visitors can access the single event page with just one click.
Note: Currently we have setup separate event layout for mobile view as website is live.
Thank you!
]]>The dot navigation at the bottom of the Carousel view with Type 1 display option appears to have a block between every dot. How can I fix that so that it’s just dots (or whatever!). It looks broken.
]]>Where can I disable your event duplication button? I don’t want it displayed because it creates a mish-mash. The duplicated event keeps some hidden connection with the original and synchronizes their dates, which of course I don’t want.
Button Clone of Yoast Duplicate Post plugin works well. But when both are there, sometimes I accidentally click on your Duplicate and mish-mash again.
I have:
Seeing a PHP error,
[10-Jul-2024 17:06:46 UTC] PHP Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /home1/dsaun19/public_html/wp-content/plugins/modern-events-calendar-lite/app/skins/single.php on line 972
with Modern Events Calendar LiteVersion 7.12.0, WordPress 6.5.5, Sydney Pro theme, PHP version 8.2.18
Cosmetic PHP error, or something more serious?
]]>When I view a single event page, everything looks great.
But, the List (Toggle) option displays the content without any line or paragraph breaks. It honors other formatting (headers, lists, etc). But collapses all paragraph text into one endless string of words ??
This is really unfortunate and requires weird work arounds when pasting in text. In a “test” entry, I’m using H6 tags for all body text. Which works, but isn’t a great solution to present to a client.
i am having a strange behavior with the last update. in the update page ,The MEC showing that it has an update 7.10 as i am having 7.09 vesion
while clicking update button its showing updated successfully. but its still showing the old version and and update in update page
while clicking on more details in the successful update message it showing pug in has the latest version!!!
Once checking on the details in the plug in page, one message showing as closed instead of plug in details
i am using latest version of WordPress
any help in this regard is appreciated.
]]>Hi devs !
I have an issue with your plugin (Lite version).
When I activate javascript of your plugin on any page, it deactivate images sliders on Elementor.
That’s annoying because I can’t display a calendar on the homepage.
Could you help me please ?
Many thanks
Julien
i have series of long events in the same month. first event kicks in and runs on the MEC, no problem. When second event starts, it will shuffle existing down and continue in the same line, Third event will start and shuffle both existing events again…. this becomes ugly. why event cannot hold the same position through it’s duration? I used many calendars and nothing like this ever happened, i must’ve doing something wrong.
there are 4 events here with the different color originally, but it looks like 6. how to fix it?
]]>Hi, is any way see all events in calendar, icluding upcoming and expired? (not in archive page)

I’m working only with Gutenberg and Full site editing.
I have template with Header and Footer so I can build them as I want.
But, when I visit a page from your taxonomy archives, It seems to work with PHP template only. I tried to find a way to make it work. Any idea?

I am currently using MEC Light Version 7.8.0 on PHP 8.2 WP 6.4.3
TBH I am not sure when this feature broke as I do not edit shortcodes that often. It doesn’t seem to affect the live site use of shortcodes, however, I am unable to modify any settings to any shortcode.
I was able to create a new shortcode using the wizard but I was unable to modify it once created due to getting the same error.
]]>After updating to MEC Lite version 7.7.0, my site became unresponsive for ANYTHING dealing with images. Trying to attach featured images to MEC Lite events resulted in a time out/disconnection situation. Trying to upload images thru the Media library also failed.
Memory usage went to max, CPU & I/O went quite high, and my site would shut down for a bout 5 minutes – see below. PHP is 8.1, WordPress is up to date.
When MEC Lite is disabled, the problem appears to have resolved.
]]>Hi – haven’t had any events in a couple of years, and now am seeing a sidebar, with no way to remove it.
I’ve removed all the widgets from the area, but see this “You should add MEC Single Sidebar Items to the MEC Single Sidebar in Widgets menu.”
How do I display just my event on this page, with no sidebar? Basically – remove “MEC Sidebar” from my single events pages, and have the content full-width (in the container at least).
(I’ve temporarily cheated by modifying the CSS – but hopeful for a setting somewhere that will accomplish the same thing)
]]>Hi!
I’ve setup my site so that logged users can submit events to calendar from frontend with [MEC_fes_form] shortcode. Is it possibile also to edit an event from frontend once published?

]]>I see in this forum complaints about css files loading on pages the calendar is not even on. There have been responses to the complaints saying the problem has been resolved with a new feature that allows loading assets on certain pages. Here’s an example: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/load-styles-only-on-pages-with-mec/
I don’t know if this feature has been removed or what but the problem still exists and I see no way to control when the css files load. I’m running Lite version 7.4.0

]]>Hi there –
Before posting, we also searched the forum and found https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/single-event-cut-off-on-mobile/ and tried applying that change but it didn’t seem to fix the issue. Basically, on mobile devices (portrait view), the event details pages are being cut off.
Thanks
Hy! can you guide me about the backlinking through this platform.
]]>So, I am using MEC on my website, and I want the event details to be displayed in a pop-up rather than a page for itself, but I faced two issues:
1-: When I click on the events to display its details, it works fine, but when I click on the speaker, it shows the popup for the speaker behind the original popup. I fixed this issue by entering in the custom CSS the following code:
.lity {z-index : 9999999999;}.
2: There’s a third popup screen that appears with just one close button, no data, nothing. How do you make it not show in the first place?
We received a vulnerability message from Wordfence about this plugin. Do we need to do something?

]]>Hi, we have the single page events show in a “Modal Popup.” But they do not show in a consistent size (on desktop screen), even though the “featured images” are all the same size.
On the calendar page, the Modal windows are:
Daily Prayers and Song with Sára – APPEARS VERY WIDE
Daily Prayers with Aliela – APPEARS MEDIUM WIDTH
Daily Prayers with Khabir – APPEARS NARROW WIDTH
Is there a way to set a width limit? I like the NARROW WIDTH best, and would prefer they all look this way.
Thank you!
So on my website I have avatars turned off. However going to some of the MEC admin pages ( /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=mec-events ) for example, your code is ignoring that setting in at least 3 places and still using, or trying to, avatars.
Before using get_avatar_url you should be checking get_option( ‘show_avatars’ ).

Don’t expect it to work and it will meet your expectations. Thanks for being a pain in my ass ME Calendar. You don’t need to even pretent to offer support. Because you will agian just tell me update it manually and that is will somehow magically start working. You’ve been telling me that for years.
So… don’t bother. Save your precious time. Just fix your stupid plugin.
