After adding line
disable_functions=system,exec,passthru,shell_exec,proc_open,popen
to my php.ini, and running “rerun core check” the php settings check still remains red. This is true for other changes I have made as well.
Hello, I use your plugin on one of my sites and have been very happy with it, thank you. I am trying to use it on a second site and am getting a blank screen on the Security Center settings page. See the screenshot here: https://emotionschool.com/images/mvis.png
This site is hosted by a different company than the other site where the plugin is operating correctly, so I don’t know if it’s a server configuration issue. I tried deactivating all my other plugins, removing .htaccess files, and removed custom directives in my wp-config.php file- none of which had an affect on the problem.
Can you please suggest how I might fix this issue?
Thank you!

]]>I downloaded and activated this plugin. so far so good, but on my plugins page when searching for new plugins, this plugin removes the ability to click any link or install new plugins…once I deactivate the security center, my ability to click links on these pages and install new plugins is resumed…Not to be rude but I don’t think you should be charging for something until all the bugs are worked out. It scares you when it says the vulnerability information hasn’t been updated in 30 days, and prompts you to upgrade, but yet I can’t upgrade knowing it is affecting my site in this way. If it is effecting this, then what else could it be affecting that I am just now not seeing…Also, there should be a manual update available for people who might continue with it in this state as it does have some valuable information, but are not ready to pay to receive real time push notifications…at least until all the bugs are worked out. Now every time I want to install a new plugin or even search them, I have to disable the security center plugin. Also, some of the links are broken with 404’s in the links for how to fix stuff…with all that, if I can’t somehow manually grab updated vulnerability information, while all these bugs remain, what good is this…not sure if I will be keeping this one. A for effort.

]]>MVIS recommends changing permissions on my /wp-admin and other folders – it says to remove read & execute permissions for “world” (setting permissions to 750)
is this for the top folder only, or including all files in the directory?
Also when I do this, say for my /wp-content folder, the site loads with out the theme files (which makes sense), and when I do it for /wp-admin – my admin interface doesn’t load. What am I doing wrong?!?
Thanks!

Hi
I installed MVIS Security Center (Plugin) and started going through your recommended changes.
I tried password protecting my admin folder, but this stopped the site from working, so removed the password.
I changed permissions on wp-admin, & wp-includes to make them writable by me only.
This was yesterday and today the site is viewable, but I can’t access my dashboard (message says Page Not Found)
I have mucked things up somehow but don’t know where!! Help!
I have tried disabling all plugins via Cpanel, but this didn’t help.

I have tried various password options but seem to get the same message.
Please help.
Could you also let me know what the cost of the protection will be once the 3 months is up.
Thanks Renate

]]>The plugin has the URLs to CSS and Javascript files hard-coded to the wp-content
directory, but WP lets people change that to a different folder, and a lot of developers use a different directory for a number of reasons.
When the plugin is installed on a system that uses a different content directory, none of the CSS or JavaScript files are loaded.
You should be using plugins_url() to determine the plugin directory, instead of hard-coding it.

Sounds like pass by ref was deprecated in PHP5 and removed in 5.4. I’m running 5.4.18.

]]>I have run the MVIS Pluin and it showed a whole bunch of stuff that needed fixing.
Update Check: I updated the WP to the most current version, did the same with my theme. All good.
I moved onto the Core Check Tab. Lots of red and orange dots need fixing. I hover the mouse over them and they say ‘Issue Identified – Click more to learn about the threat’ but when I click I just get a black screen with a white window in the middle and a spinning orange timer.

Yet, the plugin doesn’t let me know what the possible hacked files could be… I’ve scanned it with Sucuri, and with virustotal, and nothing was found…
The site in question is hipmouse.com . There’s nothing there yet… Just a maintenance page.
