I tested this plugin with the real world example and it showed me very misleading information about MySQL performance.
I had a large database of 11k+ images, 5k+ posts imported and then manipulated to two different local WP environments. One that was measured by this plugin as much slower due was performing significantly faster, and one that should be faster was in the real world much slower.
I made sure it was the same database and all steps were exactly the same, then measured time with the stopwatch.
When we’re talking about PHP performance test, it DOES reflect PHP performance correctly, or better say more precisely.
UPDATE: Despite that in occasional cases this plugin gives unreliable readings, it’s not that often and do recommed to use it as basic test of the server performance.

I had to measure the performance of my two local machines (a laptop and a desktop). This plugin came in handy to do exactly that. I only wish that there was a way to export the results for future ref!

Benchmarks PHP and MySQL and does various performance analysis on these. Especially MySQL analysis is good.
In general benchmarks are short, but quite informative.

A good tool for comparing different installations/servers.

Thanks!

I’m testing two different servers to see which performs better, so I can get an idea of what I’m paying for. It’s a nice tool for testing that. Would be great to add file system test but it’s still a great testing tool without that.

I was having a data load issue, and thought that it was PHP. I upped my php memory, timeout values, etc. etc.
Then I realized that perhaps it was a database performance issue. Grabbed this plugging and compared to my production server. BAM!! The numbers don’t lie, I was getting 500+ operations / sec in prod, around 10 operations per second in dev.
I’m now moving my dev site to a new host. This plugin will always be in my bag of tricks!!

This is very interesting plugin, because it can perform a small benchmark to php / mysql. With this info, the administrator can tweak the system to get more performance.
I will use the data from this plugin to help to tweak the performance of my VPS and with my site, Simpatias da Web.

Great plugin.
This is a clean plugin that test your server up against the fast, shared, mywebtonet servers and compare the facts. wysiwyg. No my guessing.

Interesting to see loadtimes of the SQL and PHP. Looks slightly slow compared to the dedicated server – the green bar.

Clean and simple plugin that shows the ‘raw’ resources available in regards to CPU and responstime of the PHP and MySQL server on the current installation.
We had been wondering why our website was slow at times and it showed us what we needed to know. Ultimately we need to find a new host who can satisfy our performance requirements.

This plugin enabled us to work out why our website was so slow. We decided to move to mywebtonet after we saw how fast their servers were.
Our site is now 10x faster than it was…we even managed to import all our old emails really easily into their system.
We will be making our site even faster soon, helping our bounce rates go down even more…
