Royal Mail changed their prices at the beginning of October 2024 yet your plugin still uses the old prices.
When will you be updating the prices as it’s now costing us to send products to customers.
We are trialling your Royal Mail Live Rates plugin. But the list of RM services does not include e.g. 48hrs Tracked – which is the one most used by companies.
Can it?
Why does it not include their full list?
Hello was pleased to find your plugin. However on first test it doesn’t seem to function with the WBW Currency Switcher for WooCommerce? I also sell in US dollar and Euro and when the cart is switched I get ‘there are no shipping options available’? I am testing locally for now.
]]>I have the ‘Hide shipping costs until an address is entered’ ticked in WooCommerce settings but it is still showing Royal Mail Live Rates on the cart page.
I have tried using Incognito mode in Chrome and Private Tab in Firefox so as to bypassing any caching but still get shipping costs displayed when it should say ‘Shipping costs are calculated during checkout’.
When I deactivate Royal Mail Live Rates plugin it all works as it should – I get the ‘Shipping costs are calculated during checkout’.
I have 2 additional shipping zones with rates in payment settings (including flat rate) and this works correctly when your plugin is de-activated.
As soon as your plugin is activated again, it shows your rates on the cart page – which is incorrect.
]]>The plugin does not specify whether the prices are “Online” or “Over The Counter” rates. From what I can gather, you have hard coded OTC prices instead of the correct online prices. This is a big problem because this could result in a lot of lost sales through cart abandonment.
The plugin is also displaying incorrect prices for shipping to international euro zones and no optins for wieghts over 2kg. This further suggests you havent coded in the correct prices.
For example, in my shop, the plugin calculated a price of £16.75 for a 1.5kg parcel sent International Tracked to Germany (Zone 1). This is actually a zone 3 price. The correct price should be £11.20 as per the online prices page 9. (See link below.)
https://www.royalmail.com/sites/royalmail.com/files/2023-09/online-price-guide-october-2023-v2-ta.pdf
If you add 2 x the 1.5kg parcel above to the cart, this takes it over 2kg and the plugin displays a “no shipping options” message. It does this for every international location. As per the pricelist above, Royal mail provide a lot of pricing options for parcels oover 2kg so have you coded in these prices into the plugin? It should automatically show these prices.
In UK shipping, if you check “compensation” in settings, it throws a no shipping message for a 1.5kg parcel. Uncheck it and it gives correct pricing and all options. This is very confusing.
Why must a default parcel size and weight be specified in order for the plugin to work? This makes no sense because if the customer orders an item with smaller size and weight, then they are charged a higher default price at checkout.
I’m considering buying the pro plugin, but if the basics don’t work in the free plugin then I’m not confident about the paid version.
We are interested in adding the Guaranteed by 1pm option to our delivery but do you know the cut off times? If someone orders late at night, they’ll expect their parcel by 1pm the following day but this is not possible as it wouldn’t get posted till the following morning and so wouldn’t arrive by 1pm that day – it would be the following day.
Is there any way to control this?
On https://rentfreegascylinders.co.uk :
When adding a product to the basket and clicking cart button it shows Royal Mail Live Rate options instead of ‘Shipping costs are calculated during checkout’ which is supposed to show.
Woocommerce has ‘Hide shipping costs until an address is entered.’ ticked.
On https://bbqgasbottles.co.uk :
When adding a product to the basket and clicking cart button it shows the correct message: ‘Shipping costs are calculated during checkout’ which it is supposed to show.
Woocommerce has ‘Hide shipping costs until an address is entered.’ ticked.
Both sites are the same but the rentfree one shows the wrong message.
]]>Hi,
So I have just been figuring out how to use this plugin properly. So dar it shows real promise but I have a couple of issues:
1 – The plugin seems to reference the price list for the ‘in store’ prices seen here:
(link removed as topic bounced as spam, prices for RM can be found on their website under two separate categories for in store and online)
However when purchasing online via ‘click and drop’ the prices are lower, as seen here:
(link removed as topic bounced as spam, prices for RM can be found on their website under two separate categories for in store and online)
Not sure if this is a free/pro limitation, I am considering the pro plugin but just checking out the free one for now.
2 – For international rates the plugin seems to live by the rule stated in this documentation:
(link removed as topic bounced as spam, international prices also on RM website for both in store and online)
Which states that the international small parcels must be less than -Length: 45cm Width: 35cm Depth: 16cm.
However the actual RM click and drop website elaborates on this rule:
Small parcel – Maximum size: No one dimension can exceed 60cm
Length + width + depth must be no more than 90cm
This is a much more flexible rule and the current set up is preventing me from getting correct shipping rates, or allowing them to in fact show at all.
Lastly – the plugin does not seem to be correctly reading my products dimensions, they are correctly set in the product settings but when using debug mode I can see that it is using the size settings from the default size settings in the shipping zone. It seems to get the weight correct, but not the dimensions.
Also the debug mode seems not to work that often, sometimes it does, I’m not sure what prevents it from working.
Currently have the maintenance page active. The rates are only showing special delivery rates for UK and Europe. This is not a plugin conflict as I have deactivated all plugins and have the same issue. Is there a fix for this? Is it just a setting that I’m missing somewhere?
Many thanks
]]>I have the laster version of your Royal Mail live rates plugin. And I’m testing it before going live.
I have a product weight =11.5kg (which is over e.g. RMs’ advertised & Click&Drop’s limit of 2kg. ) Yet the plugin produces rates e.g. :
1st Class Service:£12.95
2nd Class Service:£10.45
Signed For 1st Class:£14.05
Signed For 2nd Class:£11.55
Guaranteed by 1pm:£19.45
Guaranteed by 1pm with Saturday:£26.34
Shipping to & from both destinations in Surrey.
nb. No dimensions are set on the product.
How? Are they ParcelForce rates? (seem a bit! low for PF)
For the same example, your UPS plugin produces:
UPS Worldwide Saver:£11.99
UPS Worldwide Express Plus:£46.49
UPS Standard:£8.99
UPS Express:£16.99
Are these correct?
Hi
Royal Mail recently updated their prices and your plug in is not reflecting this.
For example, if I add this product to the basket:
https://bbqgasbottles.co.uk/shop/calor-gas-regulators/lpg-gas-bottle-regulator-propane-adjustable-0-4-bar-pol-fitting/
I get 2kg small parcel First Class option at £5.55 and 2nd class at £4.45.
The recent price changes mean it should be First Class £5.39 and 2nd Class £4.69
Hello,
We’ve recently moved from flat rate shipping, to this live rate. However have just found out only GBP is supported, meaning customers are not being offered any royal mail shipping (under free amounts) at checkout.
I can see theres an upcoming pro version which does, is there any support or way to get this now? Otherwise we would have to undo all of the new live shipping work.
Any help is appreciated!
]]>The plugin does not seem to be retrieving the correct rates from Royal Mail. I have your plugin for displaying the weight of the order at 1.2kg, but the rate calculation for 1st Class mail is £3.69, when it should be more like £4.45. Please can you advise.
]]>Hello,
Royal mail supports additional compensation for Special delivery services up to £2500 of the order value. However, if “Include optional compensation” is enabled and the order value is above £500 they do not appear as available. The service by default includes £500 compensation but it is not working for the optional/additional amounts of up to £2500.
It seems the additional compensation feature is not working, as the services have default caps.
Many Thanks

]]>We have a product that is 300 grams, is 14cm long, 7cm wide and 6cm deep.
When ordering it gives the option of Signed for 1st class £4.05 or Signed for 2nd Class £3.55
These prices are are for a Large Letter: Max L: 35.3cm x Max W: 25cm x Max D: 2.5cm
As you can see the product is 6cm deep and the max large letter depth is 2.5cm, so it should not be choosing Large Letter up to 500g but a small parcel up to 2kg instead.
Is this a bug or is there anything we can do? We have about 8 products this size and so the delivery charges will be wrong each time they are ordered.
