is this one abandoned or development stopped?
]]>HI.
Any suggestions to make it work on OLS as well?
I had your plugin on nginx-virtuozzo and it worked, on my apache staging it works but on OLS on Runcoud with hetzner dedicated server it DOESN’T work anymore.
I welcome any suggestions since I’ve tried them all!
PS: the error log gives no errors even if the thumbnail is not generated!
Thank you

Not sure if this plugin is still maintained and if its not if any one has any alternatives.
]]>Hello.
I tried to follow the guide but am failing the review on Facebook with the APP.
You don’t just add Oembed to the app anymoore you have to “Request Advanced Access” to Oembed Read under Permissions and Features but I cannot get approval. I provided a URL to where a post was embedded, explained that it is for wordpress embeds but I have been rejected twice.
Please can someone explain the new process and what will need to be sumitted?
Thank you!

Do we still use the Embed URL block to insert in Wordpres in to a post?

]]>Facebook forces me to re-approve the ‘oEmbed Read’ product for my app.
To be clear, what I am for is the new oEmbed Read feature
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/features-reference/oembed_read
which replaces the old oEmbed
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/oembed
I have oEmbed Plus installed and working, but because I didn’t touch my WordPress site for several months, Facebook deleted the oEmbed product from my app.
The original oEmbed URL I wrote in the app review request was of a post filled with embeds, most of them from Facebook and Instagram. The URL is:
https://biz.specialdays.co.il/?p=530,
content is in Hebrew but you can clearly see all the embed placeholders. The form rejected that URL, saying “Please enter a valid domain”.
Then I tried
https://biz.specialdays.co.il/?p=530&a=facebook.com
just to have the ‘facebook dot com’ URL in it and pass the form.
That request was rejected, saying “We found that your oEmbed URL returned an error, or did not show where embedded content will be displayed in your website or app”.
What am I doing wrong with the oEmbed URL field? How can I know what to put into it?
Thanks in advance

]]>Hello,
I followed the steps to install oEmbed Plus and added the App ID and App Secret in the backend, but the Instagram and Facebook blocks are still not embedding the posts I want to embed. I get the message that says “Sorry, this content could not be embedded.”
Here are the posts I’m trying to embed:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/619530658215246/permalink/1765985253569775/
I also noticed the “Live Mode” is not available in the app settings anymore. As mentioned in Facebook Add Dashboard: “Development Mode and Live Mode have been replaced with new data access levels” (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/overview/access-levels/).
Your guide does not make mention of the new method: https://php.watch/articles/wordpress-facebook-instagram-oembed
I’m not sure how to ensure that everything is correct in the app backend now that the Live Mode is deprecated. Do I need to request Advanced Access to any features other than the two features that are granted Advanced Access by default? (i.e. public_profile and email features in the Permissions and Features settings of the app)
Thank for you help.
]]>Hi,
I posted URL on WordPress after install Oembed plus plugin,
but it doesn’t display the image it is replaced with ‘view this post on instagram’.
So i tried ‘the embed code’, then it worked.
and i posted post’s URL and ‘the embed code’ of same post.
then, post’s URL displayed the image as well!
However, it became doesn’t display the image again if i post ONLY post’s URL and delete ‘the embed code’
I would like to ask you how to display the image by posting ONLY URL if you know.
By the way, WordPress v.4.9.13
Thank you.
]]>Hello
Is there any way to connect multiple App ID & App secret to my wordpress site.
I use a lot of hashtag feeds. So i need to connect multiple business accounts. (limit 30 hashtags per week)
I’m able to connect one business account with a working app ID & app secret.
I’m using Instagram Feed Pro pluging to display the hashtags.
With this plugin I can connect multiple business accounts, but I can only provide one App ID & app secret to it.
Is there any workaround?
Kind regards

]]>I installed your plugin but neither Facebook nor Instagram URLs were being recognized. Therefore I analyzed the source code and saw the oembed_providers filter is never called. This is the reason why the URLs are not being handled.
The oembed_fetch_url action is handled if I add for instance a YouTube link.
Any idea why the providers are not being registered?

Can someone help me out with this problem?
Thanks!
I have now on two separate attempts made developer accounts that use my real name and my work email address (that has my name in it) with my real birthday and everything and they keep getting disabled. The only thing this developer account is used for is to get the necessary oembed plus API keys and used on one website.
Is there something I may be doing wrong? Or is facebook known for false positives when it comes to accounts that they think are going against their ToS?
Thanks,

Hello,
No dice getting Instagram embeds to load using this plugin. I’m wondering if someone can point out what we’re doing wrong here. Looking at the forum, seems like ours isn’t the only site with an issue.
Thus far:
Installed the plugin
Setup a developer account with FB. Created an app (type Other), set in a privacy policy, set app to live. So far, so good. Got the App ID and App Secret. Entered it into the writing section, hit save. And… nothing.
Pasting an instagram link into the editor generates nothing. Just a blank page if you preview the post. Text is there, it never renders the post. Existing posts that had Instagram embeds don’t show them, even though the link is still there in the WP Editor.
What are we doing wrong here? Is there a specific app type or account type we should be using, aside from “Everything Else” (which is no longer technically an option, they’re reworded it).
Using WP 4.9.16

]]>Thanks for creating the plugin. I really need it.
I have installed the plugin (v1.6) on my WordPress instance (v. 5.5.3). I have created a Facebook App with oEmbed – it’s live and I have Business Verification. I’ve copied the credentials to the plugin settings. But unfortunately, Instagram embeds always fail.
]]>Using WP 5.5.3, plugin version 1.5, theme is Uppercase
Instagram URLs are acting as they were before I installed this plugin. They won’t embed in the block editor or if I publish an article. They did work in one article a few days ago, but have been broken again since then. I am simply pasting in Instagram post URLs into the block editor or the Embed block, and both methods give the same error in the page.
For posterity: the workaround is to paste an Instagram post’s embed code (ig post > 3 dot menu > embed) into an HTML block in the editor, then publish.
]]>Hi there,
Our team runs a WordPress multi site network with quite a few sites that relied on Facebook embeds.
We installed your plugin, followed all the setup instructions for adding the Facebook app, and entered the Key and Secret in the settings for each of our sites that we want to continue using Facebook embeds for.
After all of this, the embeds aren’t working. When we copy and paste a URL for a facebook post into the post editor, it remains as a URL instead of transforming into the embed.
Can you offer any assistance?
Best Regards,
Michael Brackenridge
We have tested on a post that required 5 Instagram embeds. Only 1 of them displays and funny enough all of the show on AMP but not the normal/standard wordpress. In the editor managed to get them all to show now, embed. But, front-end after cache clears it is only showing 1.
]]>Hello. Before installing/configuring your plugin, is it possible to determine exactly how much FB/IG content I have embedded on my site using oEmbed? If I have zero affected content, I don’t want to spend time installing/configuring your plugin. My site is has a relatively large amount of pages/posts (content added by others), so manually searching each will be a bit tedious. Can I perhaps carry out a database search to determine how many pages/posts contain such content? If so, what exactly should I search for?
Also, does your plugin work for content embedded with the classic editor, or only Gutenberg? My site uses the classic editor only. Your article seems to mention only Gutenberg, but this article seems to say this issue affects both Gutenberg and the classic editor.
Thanks in advance.
]]>I love that you factored in setting the facebook credentials in wp-config; it makes this great for multisite instances where individual site owners shouldn’t all have to register their own facebook apps and manage credentials.
However, it’s still visible to Site Administrators and can be very confusing to those who aren’t overly tech savvy. We try to keep the dashboard as simplified as possible for these people. Would you consider one of the following options?
1) If MultiSite and settings are defined in wp-config.php, simply don’t show this form here at all.
2) If MultiSite and settings are defined in wp-config.php, only show this form to those who can manage_network.
3) Create a filter for whether or not the disabled settings form is displayd so people can easily hide this screen if it doesn’t make sense in their environment. (Personally, I’d use manage_network.)
Thanks again for the great plugin. 5 stars even without the above change!
