Good morning,
I want to report a small issue with StatCounter plugin. The layout convas in Bricks builder is not loading when the plugin is active. The current workaround is to disable StatCounter while working on designs in Bricks, which is fine, but one must remember to reactivate StatCounter afterwards, an action often forgoten!

]]>After using statcounter for many years on scores of websites, my account has suddenly stopped working. 48 hours after submitting a support ticket, I have yet to receive any reply.
I do not have a paid account, so why would I be downgraded and why can’t I access anything other than a message saying I need to upgrade.
Here is the message I get when I log in:
Hi John,
Your projects have been listed for downgrade to the Basic plan.
This may be because you made this request or your payment subscription has been cancelled or your paid period has expired.
The following options are available:
1. Upgrade your project again to retain all data
2. If you think a mistake has been made, check your payment methods before you contact support.
3. Confirm that you wish to downgrade your project, resulting in data loss.
My issues:
1. I can’t upgrade again because I never upgraded before. All my projects retain only the last 500 visit worth of data on each project.
2. I do not have any payment methods on file with you because I don’t have a paid account. I have contacted support, but you do not answer. First support contact form message sent Monday morning, well over 48 hours ago.
3. Clicking on downgrade your project still does not give me any access to my projects. Yes, I tried that.
Please help.
]]>At the bottom (footer) of every page of my website, I am getting “Statcounter code invalid. Insert a fresh copy“.
I have deleted the project, uninstalled the plugin, created a new project, have regenerated a new project security code …..still see this message.
The mobile version of my website is very obvious that this message can be seen. Can it be fixed?
]]>hello
It works but I get this error:
]]>Warning: Undefined array key “sc_invisible” in /homepages/27/d790527478/htdocs/clickandbuilds/test/wp-content/plugins/official-statcounter-plugin-for-wordpress/StatCounter-Wordpress-Plugin.php on line 98
Last night I submitted a support ticked to statcounter because I couldn’t get statcounter to work with my Content-Security-Policy directives. Tech support replied that I have an old version of the code on my web site.
Since I’m using this plugin, I’m wondering: Why is it inserting obsolete code?
]]>I can still read my stats at the Statcounter website, but can no longer see anything from my WordPress dashboard. I think this happened with the last WordPress upgrade. Is this a known issue?
]]>Hi
I get a “Critical” alert from Wordfence saying “The Plugin “StatCounter” has been removed from www.ads-software.com”. And apparently is a security risk and should be deleted. The plug in is still available in the plug in section of www.ads-software.com, so I was just wondering your thoughts about this warning.
Thanks… k
How do you track downloads using the Statcounter WordPress plugin?

]]>I’ve always assumed that the javascript used to report hits is completely asynchronous. That it takes virtually no time to execute and that it can’t “hang” if (for example) there’s no communication path to the receiver.
I just wanted to double check that this is all true. I’ve recently had a raft of “Gateway Timeout” responses on my website at SiteGround and SG support says that I’ve got a plugin that isn’t responding. I’m just going through all my plugins and trying to determine if there’s one that could potentially hang if some network path is down.

]]>I’d been using this plugin for two years without a problem. Then yesterday it suddenly stopped working. No visitors logged at all. No explanation.
I tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, and clearing the cache. Nothing got the plugin working again.
]]>I have been using the WordPress plugin quite happily for many years however, I recently installed it on a new site and noticed it hadn’t been modified in over a year.
I installed it anyway expecting it to work but it doesn’t.
I just get a blank page within wp-admin.
Anyone know what’s going on. Does it continue to work with anyone else latest update of WordPress?

The Statcounter plugin is triggering a ‘resolving host’ issue which causes a long loading delay. Has only just occurred after years of using the plugin. The browser error message is as follows:
Failed to load resource: net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

Hi,
how can I anonymise IP-adresses in this plugin? If I can’t, I have to use another plugin, due to the rising data protection standards in Europe.

]]>I have a website where clients can log in to a private member page. Once you log in, there is no log out button or way to log out.
My designer told me that I need to pay for wdpress pro to offer that feature.
I noticed that there are 4 options ranging from free to $25 a month.
What is the min service that I would need that would give my clients the ability to log out?
Suggestion: It would be helpful to have the date of the updates alongside the version numbers in the Change Log.
Be sure to check both the Change Log herein at the Development tab of the Forum/Support page…
AND In WordPress/Dashboard/Plugins/StatCounter, click details.
]]>Dunno, just thought it was an apt title.
Anyway, I’m running an ads website, and I noticed in the write up notes that Statcounter is now supporting async scripts.
Knowing the problems I had before on another website, I wasn’t surprised that on downloading this new version, all the ad preview pages came out blank.
Rolled back to previous version to make it work.
]]>It seems I am not alone.

]]>as of me writing this, the plugin has just been updated less than an hour ago,
I am getting this error showing at the top of my admin area,
Header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/(((mysite)))/public_html/wp-content/plugins/official-statcounter-plugin-for-wordpress/StatCounter-Wordpress-Plugin.php:288) in /home/(((mysite)))/public_html/wp-admin/includes/misc.php on line 1114
But it seems ok from the front end, ( unless that is still showing a cached version) hmm,
any help is appreciated, thanks.
The plugin creates statcounter install code using document.write, which may be slowing down page loads and has other well documented disadvantages.
This was questioned in this support section but was closed with no response from plugin authors, post url: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/a-parser-blocking-cross-site-script-error-blocking-other-javascript-scripts/
It has also been raised many times on the statcounter forum, with little or no response from statcounter.
Given the impact of the install code, can this please be considered more seriously, it has been a topic raised many times.
Thanks
I’m getting this message from google pagespeed insights “Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content”
How do I fix this issue? And can you please post the solution here for everyone to see instead of secretly sending the solution just for the people who ask about it?
