Hello,
Could you add a better way to crop image?
I’ve install https://ru.www.ads-software.com/plugins/imagemagick-engine/ and see big difference with croped image quality. Images are sharp! But, unfortunately “imagemagick engine” plugin does not work with Optimize Images Resizing.
Thank you in advance! You plugin helped me to save a lot of storage.
]]>Hello, is there any update planned??
]]>I installed this plugin and it didn’t work. Images are still being uploaded in 16 different sizes, I’m not sure why, my theme creator says it’s not them, and a clean-up only removed 264 of the thousands of images. Any tips for getting it to work? Some plugins I am using include Events Manager, WPBakery Visual Composer and Yoast SEO.
Thanks,
Brittney
]]>Before using this plugin, I was wondering if it would also remove all already-used image sizes, i.e. those that are referenced in src attributes of img tags in existing posts, for example? Also, is it 100% sure that it will not remove thumbnails? I have gone to GREAT lengths to crop my thumbnails properly and I would pass out if I were to lose all this ??
]]>Hi there. I loved your plugin but I notice it is no longer deleting all the unwanted image sizes which are associated with WooCommerce for example. I have 7 different image sizes now for one image, where I only require 2 (normal size and thumbnail). That is after I have “cleaned up” image sizes with your plugin.
Can you possibly help see if your plugin needs an update since the latest WC update?
]]>Hello,
In most of my websites i use Divi, Elementor or WPBakery Visual Composer to build them.
Is it compatible with those page builders (not deleting the versions of the image files these builders might create) ?
Thank you
]]>After installation of this plugin i can’t acess to media library or add any of photos to library.

]]>Hey,
This plugin advertises to do exactly what I’d like, however I’ve not found it functioning. I’ve done some debugging and in file class-resize-image.php
if ( $intermediate = image_get_intermediate_size( $id, $size ) ) {
if I remove that block, so it always processes the ‘else’ then it works as I wish.
I’ve not really read the code to understand how it works – but this doesn’t seem right to me. Is it possible another plugin I have is conflicting – if so any idea what to look for?
]]>Works perfect! save a lot of Mo in my backup
Just one thing if you can improve that. I have a multisite with 2 e-commerces woocommerce sharing the same medias thanks to the plugin wordpress shared medias. On my 2nd shop, it made some of my featured images disappear in front for the global shop. They are in the medias and still in the featured images of the products, but I had to remove then reload images to have them back on the front. Not in the product page, only in the shop products gallery. I have few products so it’s not a big deal but for a large shop it can be critical.
]]>I have used bulk delete and all images in Retina dashboard are marked as unavailable, but they still exist on my disk. None of images are deleted from disk. Why?
]]>Are SRCSET images also generated on the fly? or can these be generated at will?
]]>“images are resized only when they are actually needed. What that means is that if your plugins/theme define a lot of image sizes, none of them will be generated on the image upload (like they would be usually), but only if they are actually requested in that size.”
I don’t understand what this means. What determines need? What happens if you’re using a page builder like Elementor? When you select an image to insert, it gives you the image size choices. What about WooCommerce, do all the product images get erased with this plugin? Totally lost…….
]]>Hi,
I have a blog with close to 4000 unique images. I have about 500k to 1000k pv/month. I am concerned that initially turning on this plugin with stress my server a lot since every image on every page visitors load (only for the first page load, yes) will process the images. Initially turning on this plugin, if I have 200 visitors live, it would mean that 200 to 300 pictures could try to process at the same time. How is that handled? Is there a way to “force” the plugin to process all existing images instead of on demand? Is this plugin compatible with a nginx server (so no .htaccess)?
Thanks
]]>I like the plugin but it does not seem to work with WP Retina and stops it from creating the retina sizes when the image is finally viewed.
]]>After cleaning up a site on the end of this warning there is a link wrapping the number:
Cleanup was successfully completed. Number of images removed: 16.
By the number CSS class I imagine it was supposed to show me a log: .js-oir-show-log
But the link is just a “#”, it is not working. Is it a bug? Thank you!
what is the difference between this plugin and the imsanity? Cheers

Disabling the plugin eliminates the error.
]]>Hi there,
I was wondering if there was a way to resume or use the command line to run the plugin. There are approx 400k images to cleanup and I do understand that it will get faster after each run, but can’t get it past 40k before I need to rerun the cleanup.
]]>Hi there,
I just downloaded this plugin and I’m running into a persistent issue. Whenever I run the “Remove image sizes” clean up function it always freezes early in the process- at 110/692:
Things I’ve tried:
– Switching the theme to the default WP theme, then using the “Remove image sizes” function. Didn’t work (same problem- it froze)
– Disabling all of my other plugins. Still didn’t work.
– Checked my .php error logs. But the logs don’t show anything, since the plugin just hangs and doesn’t generate an error.
Any suggestions?

Will the cleanup keep all ACF (advanced custom fields plugin) images?

]]>I see in the changelog you have
Avoid removing image sizes that are added via ‘image_size_names_choose’ filter (they get generated anyway on the Media screen).
Does this mean that this plugin will not remove any additional images added to image_size_names_choose?
If so, is there a way I can prevent the theme from adding the extra image sizes to image_size_names_choose so that the plugin can then prevent their creation?

]]>Hi, how well does this plugin handle e.g. 10,000 images, are there any limitations that might affect processing such as timeouts due to php settings or cpu/memory limits?

]]>When attempting to run the image cleanup. I kept getting the message, “A background request to WordPress was just blocked for the URL /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php”
Turns out the issue what that wordfence was blocking the plugin from working. Disabling wordfence while the cleanup was running fixed the issue.
I don’t have a problem anymore, I just wanted to put this out there for anyone else who has this issue in the future.

Thanks for an useful plugin. I translated it to spanish.
You can get the translation along with a .pot file that you should also include with the plugin here: https://doctorcrisis.com/oir_plugin_spanish.zip
