Hi all,

I have WordPress 6.6.1 and have installed theme twenty-seventeen. And now I try to install “options-for-twenty-seventeen” by using the standard procedure as described, uploading the zip file to my WP installation. But it fails, telling me that the “style.css” file is missing. Looking into the zip, I see, that there is indeed no such file.
When I do the same with the twenty-nineteen file, the same happens: “style.css is missing”, and no style.css file in the zipped file.
What am I missing? Is there another way of installing these “options-for…” themes?

My header looks great on a PC, I am using an image. However, on a mobile there is a huge gray area between the header and the content.

How do I adjust for that?

I really like the theme Twentyseventeen, in fact I have it installed on both my sites. However I do have 1 criticism the pixelated homepage, but I can live with that. I installed the plugin, options for twenty seventeen. The user information states that it fixes bug which pixelates the home page featured images on iPads. However, it has not fixed it in my case. I cannot find any information on the developer’s page or any topics listed in the forum. Whilst the user information does say it is located in the options heading I cannot see an option that would correct this bug. Any assistance to rectify this issue would be gratefully appreciated.

1. I’d like to remove ‘MENU’ word from nav bar on mobile leaving just hamburger
2. Also range site title and site description further left to align with body text on mobile

I have meow galleries on several of my pages. Everything is fine when the page is displayed directly (https://blackvelvet-k9.com/how-we-work/), but when I add this page to my homepage, images disappear (https://blackvelvet-k9.com/). Any ideas what can be wrong?

Hi, after updating the 2017 theme to version 3.3 my content and menu is not displayed in full width anymore despite that being the chosen settings. All attempts to solve the problem have failed. I also installed the Really Simple SSL plugin because I use the site with SSL now. I appreciate any help, cheers!

Which setting do I use to get rid of the bluish color on each side of the SHOP image on this page (and all other pages where this is an issue)?

Or is this not possible? I’ve tried this with CSS before adding your plugin. So far, I’ve been unable to find the class that controls this background color.

All plugins available are untested with WordPress. I don’t feel comfortable with coding because options that recommend coding to do this don’t say where exactly to place the code. Is there a simple plugin that will allow me to create a page on my site with a header different from the header on the other pages?

I am using the twenty-seventeen theme for the kingswayuganda.com website and I’ve installed the Options for Twenty-Seventeen Premium plugin and customized it in various ways.

The one thing that I still wish I could modify is the list of blog titles when a person rolls down the main page. They would be much more engaging if I could put an image next to the title – like a thumbnail of the featured image. Is there a way to do this with the Options plugin or another plugin that is out there?

It’s been a long time since I changed my blog’s appearance and I’ve forgotten how some things work. I added Options for Twenty Seventeen, that’s apparently how I’m getting the Recent Posts sidebar on my Blog page. But the sidebar also shows up on individual posts – can I change that?

I have a problem embedding a YouTube video on my site via YouTube block. I have also tried with some plugins and still I was not able to embed a YouTube video. I always get the message on the video: “Content can not be embedded because it is not allowed on web site. Contact administrator”. Please, I am asking for Your help in this matter. I do not know what else to do.

I am using WordPress2017 for the first time with Plugin ‘Options for Twenty Seventeen’.
The site is pretty much ready to put active, but now I see than my home image (+brand name) is not visible on mobile devices.
Can anyone help me get this right so I can still put the site online?

I have installed the plugin, however when I go to Themes/Customize I can only see the additional options provided by the plugin for about 3 to 4 seconds, before the options list reverts to the original list of TwentySeventeen options.

We have a very basic child theme, could this be interfering?

There are already options in the plugin to customize the size and colour of links, paragraph text and various types of headers but as far as I can see there are no options for customization of image captions. As it goes, I tend to avoid using captions as the standard colour is hardly readable on a black background. Instead I use paragraph text formatted as Subscript to make it readable. See for a comparison this example page:

Thank you for the very nice plug in. There is a minor issue with the header menu, I have it set to the top and the page seems to load first then the menu loads which bumps down the rest of the page. How can we fix this? Seems that the menu should load simultaneously or first then the rest of the page in order.

As it is now the header jumps around it does not look right.

I am using the Twenty Seventeen theme. Is it possible to centre the site identity vertically? I would also like to centre my footer content including my social media icons. Is this possible? Any input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I’d like to be able to replace the header background image with a slider.

I know I can have a single video playing using the default settings of TwentySeventeen but I want to use multiple video clips to speed up loading (so the first one is very small). So I have purchased a plugin which inludes a video carousel, Universal Video Player.

The shortcode is:
Page/Post: [universal_video_player_and_bg settings_id=’5′]

I have copied the header.php file to my child theme and I know I need some conditional logic to run the shortcode if the page is the homepage but skip this shortcode for all other pages. I have added the code below and while it now only dispplays the video background on the homepage, the navigation menu has dissapeared from all other pages. Is this something that should be done through custom CSS instead?

Great plugin!

While helping a user with the colors of his website I could not find options for changing color of text and headings in main content section. I think this can be a useful adition. Or am I missing something here?

FYI: in my case I solved it with custom CSS (that site uses dark color scheme):

Buttons on the twentyseventeen theme have a large amount of space above the button. I’d like to lessen the amount of space above to half of what it currently is. I’m not sure if this has to do with the line-height or padding.

Using the plugin and some custom CSS, I have the header the way I want it on desktop view but on mobile in vertical, the image is too large and showing only a small portion of the image. Is there a way to put both the icon and text overlay under the image on mobile only just like it is on the desktop view without altering the current desktop view? I’d like for the image to resize on mobile so you can see all of the image and then under it the logo icon on the left and description on the right.

Hello, when you put your site branding (logo) position to center, on a PC looks great but on a mobile phone that position isn’t centered. On mobile phones that position leans towards left. The difference is very obvious. Is there any chance that this can be fixed?

1. Изменилось изображение гамбургера на мобильном меню. Гамбургер пропал, но работа меню не нарушена.
2. Изменилось изображение значков (стрелочек) на десктопном меню, но работа меню не нарушена.

I would love this feature: the option “Swap Content and Sidebar – Moves the Blog Sidebar to the left of the Primary Content.” to work in mobile as well as desktop.

I’m in the progress of making my site more visitor friendly. Experimenting with search bars I found it impossible to have featured images show up in search results but it would be very helpful if it was possible to have them show. May I request a setting (toggle) that allows showing/hiding these images? Kind regards, Antoine
