I am in the process of setting up a new website hosted by Siteground. I installed a theme and then installed the Orbisius Child Theme plugin. I created a child theme and when I click on the Orbisius Theme Editor link under Appearance, the Editor page loads and a popup message appears saying “[Website URL] says Cheating?” with an OK button.

I click the OK button and I can get into the editor but what is that popup message?

Love the plugin, but I really don’t need the link all the way in the top admin bar menu.

I can get to the Orbisus Child Theme Creator and Theme Editor under the “Apperance” menu.

No reason to also have these two links up top of my screen as well.

How can I remove the “Orbisus” menu in the top admin menu bar?

child theme with multiple stylesheets

Hi Svetoslav

The parent theme I’m using has 2 stylesheets. A standard stylesheet and a responsive style sheet. When creating a child theme, style.css is ported over… but not the responsive sheet. Just wondering how the child theme might grab both sheets??

I’m assuming I could do it here somewhere…

How to Create a Subdirectory with Theme Editor

I used the child theme creator to create a child theme.
But now I need to modify one of the theme files that is in a subdirectory of my parent theme, so I heard I need to create the same subdirectory name in the child theme and copy it in and make edits there. How can I create a subdirectory in the new child theme?
I see an option to create a new “FILE” with the Theme Editor, but how do I first create a directory to put that file into?

Hello,
When I am trying to modify a PHP file of my child theme, I get a PHP error syntax. To find a possible origin of me problem, I’ve tried the following things:
Checking PHP Syntax Check on style.css : OK
Checking PHP Syntax Check on footer.php (original file) : “Syntax check failed. Error:”
It is not true because it is the original file with no error
Checking with Twenty Seventeen Native theme : Same thing
So, for me, this plugin is not functional.
(for information PHP Version 7.2.2)

Hi, I updated a number of plugins yesterday, the result was unable to access the control panel, but the site would still load and work. I finally traced the issue to Child Theme Creator by Orbisius. Deleting this plugin via FTP get everything up and running again.

I have tried to install it, but get the following error…

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/sites/firstediction.co.uk/public_html/2010it/wp-content/plugins/orbisius-child-theme-creator/orbisius-child-theme-creator.php on line 274

Do you have a fix to this problem ??

Getting error after upgrading to latest update:

Looked at file structure and there is no addons subdirectory.

Our server’s WP websites were recently hacked through a plug-in(s) – but didn’t indication which ones in particular they might be. We did have one site where an “i” folder within the plug-in Orbisius Child Theme Creator folder was infected. Is this folder a standard of the plug-in? Seeing the same in some other websites where this plug-in is in use. Also, is the /nbproject folder also a part of the plug-in?

Hi,

Whenever I make changes to a file inside the child-theme folder, a duplicate page is generated, for example:

footer.php_error_2017-04-28_1493399233_8982

And on the editor panel, the notification “Please wait…” takes forever to finish.

Worked once. But, after that on other websites (same primary theme EXTRA) it won’t name the directory same as what I input into the Theme name. It keeps naming the Child Theme directory Extra-child-theme-01 , 02, etc. How can I get it to name it same as the title I give it?

I usually create my child themes manually, but as I was having trouble with the theme structure, I used Orbisius Child Theme Creator and it solved my problem.

Now that my child theme is created, can I remove the plugin safely ? Or is it required to keep the child theme running ? Deactivating it seems ok, but what about uninstalling ?

I have WordPress Multisite Installed along with ElegantThemes.com Divi Theme v2.7.10. I noticed there are 3 options to set before I select “Create Child Theme”…

1) Make the new theme network wide available
2) Create a blank functions.php file
3) Customize title, description etc.

I don’t want to mess my site up so I’m asking which of these three options should I choose and what are the ramifacations? Thank you.

Je ne sais pas ce qui s’est passé, mais votre plugin m’a complètement planté le site.
Maintenant, il est en erreur 500. J’ai regardé toutes les origines possibles, et rien ne répare le site, ce qui veut dire que votre plugin a causé un problème dans la base de données mysql. Donc impossible à réparer pour moi.
Je suis assez colère d’avoir perdu tout mon travail à cause de ca!

Hello,
I have been using a child theme with this plugin for a long time and it worked well without any problems so thanks for creating it. However, any changes I try to make now result in an error file created, for example page.php_error_2016_06_02 etc. and the original stays the same. Any ideas about why this might be?

Works fine except for a minor bug with a widget. I bought a theme and it has a widget called My-Social Networks installed in there.It gives social networks links and icon where ever you place the widget on your website.

The widget works fine when i activate the Parent Theme but when i use the child theme which i created with the Orbisius child theme creator, the ICON disappears. When click, everything does work but no icon image.

I need to upload an image to replace my title and tagline on the Orbisius child theme of Twenty Twelve. If this involves coding, I am not very experienced (except with copying and pasting). As per the latest wordpress codex on creating child themes, they should be created now using the “Wp_enqueue_scripts_action” instead of the “@import” function.

This is an FYI – information only. I cannot troubleshoot this logistically.

We were checking my site out at the organization at which I volunteer. It’s a large, newly equipped, operation. Co-sponsered by Dell, etc. I created my sites for my volunteer work at that location, so it has to work there.

My Orbisius generated child theme did not render when the site loaded at their location/offices. It was a pre-Netscape looking framework, the HTML stuff only. They checked with tech support – who said it was something on my end.

– They were using Chrome and IE.
– I did not have time to check multiple PCs while there.
– I have not had problems like that when I have been on the site, every day, all day, before or after:
I use Chrome and FireFox on desktop,
Chromium in Ubuntu on laptop (I don’t remember if I checked that),
Chrome, Dolphin and iCab on iPad/iPhone,
Chrome on Android tablet.

From home, I just now changed back to the “parent”? theme. (And deactivated Orbisius.) And now it renders as expected for them at the organization. (I called.)

Bummer!

I have no speculation nor clues to offer, I am not tech literate. I will try to answer any questions.
