Hello. Last November I upgraded all my websites to PHP 8.1. For some reason, this site is the only one that had issues.
Ever since the upgrade I have lost the Series icon in the left navigation pane of the WP dashboard, and the only way to access my list of existing Series posts is by: Dashboard > Posts >Manage Series
When I click on a title of an existing Series I am provided with the following error message:
You need a higher level of permission. Sorry, you are not allowed to manage terms in this taxonomy.
When I write articles I am able to assign them to an existing Series.
Here’s what I tried so far:
I am very confused. I am hoping you folks who created the plugin can perhaps shed some light onto what’s going on.
Thank you.
On a site I support, part numbers are not being automatically assigned to posts in a series, so they are showing as “part not set”. I am able to go into WordPress and reorder them as needed and then click “update order”. But then the total number in a series is one less than it should be, so it will say “part 16 of 15 in the series —“. (See linked page.)
This issue seems to have started around the end of August, but it was not consistent (a few posts were assigned part numbers, but many were not). It has affected the last 3 series (Devote Yourselves to Prayer; Peace to a People in Exile; Daniel: Faith in the Furnace).
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
This page shows a sidebar, despite Astra being set to “no sidebar.” Likely because it’s being generated and doesn’t exist as a real page.
Also, I want to center the column. I’ve tried some html (ie div align=”center”) but it’s stuck on the left.
Is ther any way to format the page?
I see within Series > Settings where I can turn Display options off and on, but I don’t see anywhere where I can modify WHERE on the page the plugin displays. I use the Avada theme and Avada Layouts for my single post pages.
For example, when I turn on Display Series Navigation, it displays right under the title bar with no margin and looks hideous. When I go to Avada Layouts, it doesn’t recognize the plugin as an “element,” so can’t modify it.
Can this plugin work with Avada Layouts?
I am trying to limit the management of series to only allow those with author rights to see, create, add to, remove from, manage or delete their own series in Dashboard, preferably in such a way that I don’t have to manage each series every time one is created.
I understand that one can use either of your Permissions or Capabilities plugins to change how users with author rights can manage their own or others’ series, but there is no documentation on how to use either for this. I have only found these two threads (1, 2), and no documentation on your site.
In the series TOC, I would like to display the author and tags of all posts in a series alongside each excerpt and title. Would this be a Pro feature?
I’m asking because I’m setting up a community fiction site for other users to post on (alongside BuddyPress and bbPress), and multiple posts are episodic. And I’m trying to use Permissions and/or Capabilities to limit those with author rights (I’m using Molongui) to only manage/add to/create/delete/see their own series (I’m also having issues with this as well). And I’ve seen other community user-created fiction sites with a series feature that includes associated authors and tags. Is this possible?
This is also an adult site which I’m not comfortable linking to publicly, but I am willing to PM the developer if requested.

On the blog I have different category archives but I can’t get the series categories or series to display in an archive on the blog, like the blog categories.
Instead when you click on the series from the drop down tab near the top of the blog it takes you to a default page that cannot be edited. So there are no left and right margins. Each series is displayed to the very edge of the page left and right.
I use Elementor Pro and used the shortcode for most things but can’t get this to work.
Can anyone help please?
Hello
Is it not possible to paginate the series returned by this ordered series function?
Thanks
I cannot choose a series for any post because there is not any series shown in the list. There is only 1 choice “Not part of a series”.
I do not know when this happened because I did not create series posts for a while, but must be less than 1 year. Just noticed the problem yesterday when I edit an old post of a series and found it excluded from the series after saving the content.
The only way to put a post into a series is using ‘Quick edit’ in the post list page.
The other parts of this plugin are fine. I can manage all series.
I tried many ways except disable other plugins to see which one interfere with this. I might try reading the code myself when I have time.
I find that my problem is the same as this https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/serie-does-not-appear-in-series-list-in-editor/ which is not resolved yet (closed as resolved).

Dear PublishPress support.
After a database crash, I imported the database without copying the ‘wp_orgseriesicons’ table. Later, when I tried to add series, it didn’t work. So I just added the table. Wanting to start fresh, I attempted to uninstall the plugin. However, I noticed that the uninstall.php is not working correctly. It fails to remove the database properly and shows the following warning:
PHP Warning: Attempt to read property "settings" on null in C:\xampp\htdocs\test\wp-content\plugins\organize-series\uninstall.php on line 3
PHP Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in C:\xampp\htdocs\test\wp-content\plugins\organize-series\uninstall.php on line 4
I checked and saved both the settings ‘Delete all “Series Categories” data from the database when deleting the plugin.’ and ‘Delete all PublishPress Series data from the database when deleting this plugin.’
Greetings All,
When I change my WordPress theme, the Series Table of Contents does not show anymore the series. When you want to view the series, I get “Sorry, no results found”. Normally, you should be able to see all the episodes. It’s like the taxonomy, or the path, becomes “broken” or wrong after the theme is changed. I tried going back and forth from the new theme to the old one, but once it breaks, it stays like that. I tried changing the taxonomy, Run Upgrade Task. Not sure how to fix this besides the fact I have to start all over. I have too many series created. Let me know if I need to purchase paid support.
Thank you so much!
Andrei
Have latest version of WordPress and the Series plugin as of posting.
Using BLocksy Pro Theme.
I am trying to use the shortcodes in the block editor. I placed in a shortcode block and then pasted [series_post_list_box] on a post that is part of a series.
The page shows in plain text: [series_post_list_box]
The list box works when auto placing, but I have a requirement to place it for my page layout and need to use it as a shortcode to do this.
When I access the the editor to write posts I get the following message in the in right-hand bar.
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/customer/www/jabbering.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/organize-series/orgSeries-admin.php on line 347
I have checked the line and I can see no missing argument.
any suggestions

[publishpress_series_categories id=”21″] ???
We’ve noticed that when posts are part of a series, category pages display fewer posts than specified in Reading Settings, e.g. we have blog pages set to show 10 posts but categories are showing series posts in batches of 2 or 3 with long pagination links.
Can we get around this?
Thanks.
The series-toc table of contents page doesn’t show a title, displays as “Untitled”. This happened with the original seriestoc.php. I replaced everything with the code from WP 6.4.1 archive.php, which works fine, but still no page title. Using a barebones GeneratePress child theme.
Thanks!

I have been trying the series plugin for the past weeks, but am generally struggling to make the various series pages layout in the correct way.
Both for the TOC series page, and each individual series page the theme sidebar gets pushed to the bottom.
Poking the templates doesn’t work, as the HTML that seems to cause the issue is outside of these templates.
The current theme is “Head Blog“, Screenshots from the affected pages are https://i.imgur.com/NhtMINI.png and https://i.imgur.com/fwJCgn8.png
Is this an issue with the plugin, or some combination, or with how I have things configured? (as far as I know I’m using default configurations)
In HTML the top of the series pages look like this…

Series: Wikidata Map

And the top of the default WordPress tag pages look like this

Tag: Wikidata

Can I add the container
and main-container
classes to the series-content
div somehow?
And also add col-md-9
i there somewhere?
This seems to mostly fix the issue (with a few other styling errors)

Changed: Refactor some occurrences of plugins_loaded replacing it by a new action: plublishpress__loaded which runs after the requirements and libraries are loaded, but before the plugin is initialized;
I can’t find plublishpress__loaded
in the code, and it looks like a typo (or two), but I can’t find publishpress__loaded
or publishpress_loaded
either.
my last post was in march. yesterday I created a new one, I added to one serie as always and series plugin informs that post belong to correct serie (I can reorder, I can assign order, I can assign to more than one serie, etc) but in WordPress I cannot see the post. For example in page linked, there are 4 post in this serie but only display 3. I press the button of “update task” but nothing happens. I purchased the plugins to the old “organize series”. Now I see that is publish-press. Does it have any relationship with this change? it seems that changes in series are working correctly in editions but I cannot see nothing in “live” view of the blog.

This plugin seems good so far but I have discovered it doesn’t work with the SiteOrigin page builder. I’m a great fan of the siteorigin tools, but if I have both plugins activated, on a blog post page in admin, I don’t get any options to choose a series. It just shows a single option “Not part of a series” and nothing else to choose from.
As soon as I disable SiteOrigin PageBuilder, the series I have created all appear perfectly. If you can look at fixing this, that would be amazing as I would like to use both tools! I’ve tested it thoroughly and sure of this, so it should be reproducible.
Thanks!
Hello,
I recently started to use the PublishPress Series Plugin series (free) and I was setting up widget on homepage (right side bottom) to show what series and how many parts it has. This is working well. Yet clicking on the series will not display all the parts and just redirect user back to homepage again… How can I setup the widget in a way that after clicking on a series it will show (another) page with overview of all parts (of a selected series), please?
On my site I use a paid plugin, but this behavior is also with the unpaid one. After updating and upgrading the post order in the series, I don’t see the ability to manually insert a post part or otherwise affect the post order.
Hi.
I noticed that when the plugin is used in a multisite installation, then for the subsites which are created after the activation of the plugin the function
pp_series_upgrade_function() which alters the wp_xx_terms table etc, is never executed, so there are some PHP errors in the error log.
Hi,
After the recent update to Version 2.11.4 when creating a new post that’s part of an already established series there is no way to associate a number to the post, either within the editor of that given post or in ‘manage series order.’ The given post correctly becomes part of the series, however without the number in the series. When published on the outside of the post in the place of the number in the series, it states ‘no series number’ in red font. You have to re-save the post (without any necessary changes) so the series can pick up the post’s number, and then it shows correctly.
I’m having an issue with this plugin installed. If I try to edit a page, I’m told that post is not part of a series, and none of the series I have created are shown. It is an empty list.
If I roll the plugin back to version 2.5.13 ot works again, but no version between that and the present version works properly. (I believe the current version is 2.11.4)
For the record I have been using this plugin for a couple of years, and definitely through the versions 2.5 to 2.11, and the issue has just appeared. I’m guessing its related to the series numbering fixes mentioned in the latest versions log.
Hi.
Thanks for adopting the great ‘Organize series’ plugin.
I want to make the homepage from my blog to display only posts from the latest serie.
How can I achieve this?
Thanks in advance,
