OStatus is the predecessor of and mostly replaced by the ActivityPub spec.
[ActivityPub] comes from years of hard work and experience by a number of communities exploring the space of federation on the web. In particular, much of this specification is informed by OStatus and the Pump API, as pioneered by StatusNet (now GNU Social) and Pump.io. Both of those initiatives were the product of many developers’ hard work, but more than anyone, Evan Prodromou has been a constant leader in this space, and it is unlikely that ActivityPub would exist in something resembling its current state without his hard work.

Most of the plattforms that supported OStatus switched to ActivityPub, so I also decided to fokus on the new Spec. I recommend you to use the WordPress ActivityPub plugin instead or in addition (you do not have to delete OStatus, they will work nicely togester) to the OStatus plugin.
I will not deprecate OStatus for now, but I will also not add any new features.
]]>At the moment only the owner of the site has a federated username [email protected] and this is the only one that will post to federated site when they post
I want to have more users or all my users to have a [email protected] for federation because I have a person on the site that writes our blog posts, and even if they can’t have there own username but have the main username show the posts when they post
is this possible and if so how do I set it up please
]]>So I’m wondering if I should be using OStatus(and dependant plugins) or ActivityPub? Seems like ActivityPub is more recently updated however OStatus/etc provide more features. I’m primarily federating to Mastodon but like the option of being available to more.
]]>Hello, just wanted to know. If I remove the user as a member from a site is there a way to make it so the author profile does not appear when searching on the federation?
]]>I’ve installed ostatus for wordpress and it’s dependencies with a buddypress multisite on my site machinespirit.net
when I check https://www.madebymonsieur.com/ostatus_discovery/discover.php with https://[email protected] I’m getting a partial win, but it looks like some of the dependencies may not all be working together properly? Do other people’s installs pass the test (meaning it’s just something about my install) or is it the plugin/dependencies.
Also: how does one subscribe to other people on other federated sites like identi.ca?

]]>Hello! ??
I’m interested in using “OStatus for WordPress”, and if not, developing another plugin that does pretty much the same thing. Is “OStatus for WordPress” still being maintained?
Cheers!

I’ve installed this plugin on wp 3.0,but error msg:
The plugin generated 1458 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin
Also, support it on buddypress CMS which is most needed
