I love that this comes without any default CSS that i would otherwise have to override.
I use this on all of my websites.
Try designing a template for the single posts of team members and really make your website look snazzy.

Takes a bit of work but I was able to customize the plugin to meet my needs. Some PHP skills required. Two items that are greatly needed is some default css styling and the ability to override the plugin templates from the child theme.
Overall I’m happy and looking forward to the plugin being further developed.

I think this plugin is fantastic. It comes with lots of fields and allows for great customization through the use of it’s shortcode. The only exception to my otherwise glowing review would be this image size bug caused when using the Canvas theme…but I still gave it 5 stars since I was able to add some CSS to get around the Canvas bug.

May be fine for some, but certainly not for all. To be able to use this plugin some serious php and css stuff must be done. This is more a plugin kit. You have to put it together before you can use it!!

Hi! great plugin! it’s possible to filter by age? I want to set to every team member his date of birth and then filter by a range of Age as:
Between 10 and 20
Between 20 and 30…
It could be possible? ??

I was hesistant on giving this plugin a 1 star vs a 3 stars. If I were not a casual end-user, I would give it a 10 in a heartbeat. In the end I gave it one star. Sounds harsh doesn’t it? Let me tell you why:
This plugin is not aimed for the casual end-user looking to add a finished product to their wordpress deployment. This is aimed for the Coders, Theme builders and integrators.
The people that come to www.ads-software.com are looking for finished products, not plugins that require such a major retooling like this one. If you guys want to sport such a plugin, then why not host it on WooThemes.com?? The very least you should write a disclosure explaining that.
My suggestion is a middle ground. It’s great you guys offer a plugin that is vanilla enough you to can integrate it anywhere. But would it KILL you to add shortcodes that work for those of us that just want to inject the code to a page. No it would not. And since you guys are such AWESOME coders and this middleground fix would be cost effective you guys are going to get on to it right away and swing it right?
When you do, I can come back and change my review from 1 star to 3, 4 or 5. Either way thanks for a nifty contribution… now go make it better.

Everything has to be coded by own means.
Better develop your own plugin, it will be easier.

I understand the negative reviews, as I had to modify PHP files for some light customization, impossible with CSS only. More templates and customization facilities are desirable.
However I’m still satisfied with this plugin, very easy to use in the admin panel. The “.po” file for translation is perfect.
Last little regret about the shortcodes : to refer to a specific team member, I only found the “id” attribute, which refers to the post id (for example : [woothemes_our_team id=”456″]). It would be great to use the team member id (for example : [woothemes_our_team member_id=”jack-london”]).

While is shows promise, it’s far from complete or even usable at this point.
It’s not “some” assembly required. That assumes all the parts are in the box. This is incomplete and needs more coding before it should be deployed.
This plugin needs someone competent enough who could do whole thing from scratch on their own. What’s been given here is just the basic idea, but not much to really go on.
If you have just a few people on your team, then just make the pages by hand. If you have more than a few people, then you need a programmer to create that for you. This plugin falls between those two worlds, and isn’t suitable for much.

Woo Themes and WooCommerce seem to be a pretty big player in the WordPress and while this plugin has promise, it seems not ready for primetime. Adding the most common social icons takes custom php. Customizing the CSS is a hassle.
If I’m going to do all the work necessary to customize this, I’ll create my own page from scratch.

Actually I have to revise my review.
I had an issue and tried the support forum, but noted, that there wasn’t anything moderated in the last couple of weeks.
So I contacted the plugin developer about it and was told, that support is only provided if you use it in conjunction with one of their themes you can purchase.
If you can manage on your own, fine go for it, but if you may need support, better find a different plugin that does offer support.

It works as expected and is great, but there are a couple of additions that would make it 5*.
The code the shortcode outputs is horrible. It used <pre> and <code> tags which are not useful at all.
Also having widget as a CSS class in a page isn’t usually good practice.
I also don’t understand why there is itemscope and itemtype="https://schema.org/Person" in the output.
If you could change the taxonomy name that would be fantastic.
For example this plugin would work great on a festival’s website if we could change the ‘team-member’ term to ‘artist’ or a radio station’s website if it could be changed to ‘presenter’.
Maybe the addition of a Facebook field would be beneficial in those situations, but as it is it works fantastically for other situations!
