Hello,
I installed this plugin but it uses functions that are deprecated, such as register_sidebar_widget
and has_cap
. I downloaded version 7 and I’m using WordPress version 3.9.2. Is there an update to this plugin?
The plugin doesn’t work anymore, not even the settings page load.
I think outbrain died.
Hi, I recently installed this plugin but the related posts are not showing up properly. It also causes my site to break. any help on this is really appreciated. thanks.
]]>Hi,
I just tried to ad the outbrain widget to my site – unfortunately I’m seeing some issues between the widget and some other plugins I’m using.
After some digging – looks like the outbrain widget is not extending the standard WordPress widget class (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Widgets_API) – so other plugins that rely on that standard behavior aren’t able to work with it.
Any plans to use the standard API for this widget? Any reason why it doesn’t?
Thank you,
Eugen.
I just downloaded Outbrain, but the “you might like” functionality is not shown under existing posts. (I do have “single posts” selected under Settings.) Does the Outbrain functionality only work on NEW posts?
Also, under Outbrain options it states: “Outbrain key is used to verify your blog ownership. It will allow you to receive interesting statistics on your blog ratings and customize additional features.” I clicked on “For Further Information” and got an error message. How do I obtain an Outbrain key?

]]>Do you have any plans to add a filter by category? This is plugin is unusable without it because we don’t want all categories to be shown in the recommendations section. Please consider adding a category filter. Thanks!
]]>i have content on my site that date back from 6 months and this used to show up. now its not showing and this could be that its not compatible to wordpress 3.5
]]>This was even before I updated to wordpress 3.5, and I just noticed this for the last day.
It happens only on my browser that displays the wordpress site stripe at the top.. any other browser and computers not logged in do not have this issue.
Outbrain breaks every page, showing only outbrain and sidebar ADS (not regular widgets).
Disabling outbrain fixes everything.
Any idea whats up?
]]>I installed the plug in, and followed the instructions. I created an account, and obtained my Api key. When i try to validate it it showed a message telling loading and froze! I waited for an hour and the dashboard just did not responded. I tried to open my page in other browzers and it disappeared. No legend, just did not load. I erased my page from my account in outbrain. Went to fillezilla and erased the folder with the plug in. A few minutes later my page was back again.
]]>This plugin appears to be completely broken with WordPress 3.4.1. No matter how many times I enter my Outbrain account key, it simply tells me that it cannot find the key on the blog. Apparently, the header or footer infrastructure has changed since this plugin was last updated in 2009.
]]>I have a new issue with Outbrain in Internet Explorer where the suggested content images are showing vertically as bullet points with duplicated images instead of across the screen.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
