Not sure if others have been experiencing the issue with OwnID. I installed this on my experimental site before transferring this learning to our actual live site only recently. From a novice webadmin perspective – no coding knowledge – I actually liked how simple it was to implement it. Today I realize that with my WP updated from 6.4.3 to 6.5, this passwordless plugin no longer works. Hopefully the developers are putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

1.3.0 seems to be broken. Once we click on “Continue” button nothing happens .
In dev console we can see: “Something went wrong. Try again later.”

We tried the offered plugin. Registration and installation were very easy and almost automatic.
However, after installation we lack the option to log in using a QR code for the mobile phone. Only sending a one-time password to the email address works.
Is there a configuration missing to be able to use the solution with QR code?

the problem is that on the page my account of woocommerce ownid loads 1 time out of 3 very random, on login wordpress no problem but on the page my account of I refresh the page from time to time ownid is loaded and other times not. I really like this product, is your paid version faster? I believe that this could be due to a slowness in your free service since even the login loading time is not very fast. and the problem does not come from my side.

In order to register a new account with this plugin, we have to press the *Sign Up button* after completing the passwordless authentication by pressing the *Continue button (blue ownid button)*.

This is an undesirable operation and should confuse many people.

Could you please improve the plugin to include the Sign Up button functionality in the Continue button?

Using this plugin, the login to existing accounts works correctly.

However, there is no way to create a new account on the Woocommerce checkout page.

The form that the plugin inserts into the checkout page is for login only.
When I complete the passwordless authentication from the form, nothing happens if the user is not already registered on the website.
Also, the form for new registration is not inserted on the checkout page, so we have to jump to another page to create an account in checkout process.

This is not practical for many stores.
Could you please improve the plugin so that new accounts can be registered on the checkout page?

So I have been testing this fantastic plugin. I noticed on Desktop once we identify, there is at least 5 seconds where nothing happens before the page loads. It creates confusion and the user coudl eventually click again somewhere.

This feeling doesn’t happen on mobile because the button is spinning up so we know it’s loading.

Maybe there is some room for visual improvement?

Is there a shortcode available to insert a login form?
I am using OwnID with Woocommerce. Many themes have a customized login UI and currently this plugin will not insert the form into them.
I think, a shortcode would solve this problem as it would allow the site developers to insert it properly.

I have successfully implemented OwnID onto the site I manage. I turned off the password field via the OwnID plugin. However, the password field is still showing on the Woocommerce “My Account” page. Can this be updated so the password field can be completely eliminated from the site? Thank you for a great plugin and Passkey process for WordPress!

I have the same issue as the other post here in the support forum: I have created an account on OpenId with my E-Mail Address and I can log into the account using passkey (also directly on my iPhone, using the stored passkey).

I have created within the console an application for WordPress and entered the ID/Secret in the plugin settings page.

Afterwards, I am trying to login to WordPress: I entered the same E-Mail Address used for login to OpenID, clicked on the fingerprint icon and scanned the QR code with my iPhone. Here, I also clicked on the fingerprint icon, allowed to use the stored passkey, but then need to enter a 4-digit code, which was send by mail. Doing so, I received the message, that the account doesn’t exists. I used the same E-Mail address for the WP-Login as for the login to OpenID.

What did I do wrongly?

I did the whole setup and everything went fine. Finally I tried the new LogIn on my StagingSite (with htaccess). And after I entered the code (four numbers) that came with the email -> there was the error “account does not exist”. And the LogIn did not work.

Can you help me out?
