When I use the Category <-> Page Relationship and implement the shortcode to the category page template it works like a charm.
But if i a user clicks on the edit link from the Adminbar, he want`s to change the page Content not the category itself.
Perhaps you could add the Page edit link to the admin bar if a relationship is existant.
When I add excerpt=”true” it displays the full post. Is this a known bug?
Also image=”true” shows the full sized image, it should be showing a thumbnail right?

]]>After almost seven years, I’m sorry to inform you that this plugin is now deprecated and it won’t be updated anymore.
The main reason behind this decision is that many other plugins do the same thing well, or better, or way more better than this one.
This plugin started in 2007 and WordPress evolved a lot in that timeframe: today the same tasks can be accomplished in a cleaner way with Pods Framework or Posts To Posts. Their user communities are way bigger than this one too, this mean better documentation, solid code, and more people willing to help on the support forums.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with / learn from the community on this opensource project. Thank you all.

I need your kind help in understanding how the Category Page Plugin work.
Example:

1) I can see that the above link is no where present in wordpress admin. So this must be something auto managed by plugins or something else which I am finding hard to figure out within less time. Any hints or help, most welcome.
2) One more thing, We have divided the website into 5 different categories. The above example belongs to one such category. But how can I manually modify it? Or will it auto populate as and when new posts are published via wordpress?
3) One more small help, Will the category page be auto refreshed when our posts are made “PUBLISHED” from “DRAFTS” – Is that a problem?

I am unable to make the assignment between the page and category. It worked perfectly well for the first two page to category assignment then it stopped. Two pages that I have assigned two categories are displaying as usual but unable to do it to the rest of the pages

I just updated the plugin and now I get a white screen on my category page.
I’de created a category-animals.php in my theme folder and use the:
<?php do_shortcode(‘[showsingle pageid=”876″]’); ?>
to show pageid 876, but with no succes.
I’ve tried setting the category-animals to page 876 via the page itself, but with no result… it keeps giving a white screen.

Hello. I have recently installed this plugin and am slowly learning to use it. Thanks for all the work that’s gone into it.
What I’m trying to achieve is a site with two identical-looking pages of posts. In other words, I would like to display the category pages created with page2cat to look like the primary WP page of posts, rather than a list of posts.
Here’s my normal page of posts
And here’s the category page, which I would like to look like the one above. I presume that this is done using the [showauto] code, but I haven’t managed to work out from the documentation or this forum where & how to insert it. I use WP’s TwentyTwelve theme.

I want to embed my “Em Dash Designs” category into the bottom of the page by the same name.
So I included this shortcode onto my page:

But when I did this, the only thing that shows on the page is a gray box.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong? (Probably a lot.)

I have three pages where I am using your plugin: Engagements, News and Reviews. For each of them I am using the showlist shortcode as follows:

Since sometime between 23rd December and 30th December, these pages have been showing the excerpts from the post(s) displayed on the page at the start of the page (before the header image).
Yesterday I identified the cause – Jetpack. It seems that just having Jetpack enabled causes it to add open graph tags to the page <head> section, and in doing this it also displays the excerpt to the user.
The tags themselves are no bad thing, since the site does link to Twitter and Facebook; I also use other features of Jetpack, so would rather not just deactivate it.
However I am not sure where to go from here.
I installed the plugin so that I can display excerpts from child pages on the parent pages of my site based on Categories, but it doesn’t seem to be working.
Here’s what I did:
Am I using this the wrong way? Does this only work to display post excerpts on a page and not excerpts of other pages?
