Install, activate, error 500… need to troubleshoot the website, loosing time. Next.
Use “Very Simple Password for WordPress” by Lucas Bustamante instead.

This plugin is totally useless. You have to pay for everything.
There are plugins out there that do muuuuch better.

1. Ugly
2. Almost everything in premium version
3. The password is needed even when you’re logged in admin (“slightly” annoying)

hi
i’d like this plugin but one question
is it possible to password protect the Woocommerce shop with this plugin?
or not?
Rating: 1 star
The authors say for the premium version: support only an e-mail away. It should read: support only an unanswered e-mail away. Not worth the money you pay for it at all. Forget these guys and this plugin!.

I see several people complaining about the plugin not working. My boss paid for a 5 site license last year and this year when the need arose he paid for another 5. I have used this plugin for over a year and it works great for our company’s needs. Thank you for making this plugin, it is exactly what we needed.

Tried this a long time ago and it didn’t work. Checked it again and won’t work on any current WP version. It has to come off the plugin list.
Just does not allow multiple passwords for a single page.
My webhost gives me URL username/passwoed protection, WP gives me single page protection an this app gives me nothing.
WP, Jet Pack, someone has to do this so we can just load it, activate and use it. Yes, it would have to updated along with WP version updates.

Only giving this 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. I paid for the premium version and the password would only work by hitting enter twice, the first time it deletes the password and then the second hit it lets you in but says you have invalid credentials. I can’t send people to my web site with those instructions. I sent 2 support requests neither of which were answered AT ALL. As in, no response whatsoever. Did I mention I PAID for the PREMIUM version? Unbelievable. He should be kicked off of wordpress. I want my money back.

I wanted to password protect certain categories. This does not work in free version. Thanks.

this plugin helps me a lot!

Works fine, even with multisite, although I’m just using it for one site. A multipage option for premium users would be nice or this plugin can get pretty expensive!
Nevertheless, does as advertised.
The support is almost instant and very helpfull.
Cheers

The free version protects your entire blog – that’s all.

I think it’s too expensive considering the target of use and the per number of license buy is a big limitation.
Better pay once and install it wherever you want.
No changes possible in “free” version.
Better other solutions.

This is great and super simple – it does exactly as it say it does. Thanks!

Wow, I have to say this is the best plugin available for password protecting your WordPress installation. Not only does it do what it says, right after activating it, but the premium features are reasonable and easy to navigate.
Believe me, you do not have to purchase the premium to utilize the features most everyone needs when protecting a site. I opted for the premium for fun and I must say I love the added features.
I am using this for a MultiSite network and its 100% compatible and works like a charm. The plugin author had to assist me just a bit but he is one of the most responsive plugin authors I have met. You will not waste your time with this plugin!

I just love when I install something and it works perfectly right out of the box without having to configure or tweak anything ??
Thanks for the great plugin!

Hi,
the plugin is smart, but does not work with Safari:
1. did not ask for password.
2. As I entered the page-name differently the plugin asked for the password but a wrong password was enough to pass.
I think there is still some work to do ..

My finace and I needed a password plugin that would protect our entire site. Something we could customize for our family and non-web savy guests. This proved to be great. check it out for yourself at https://www.craigandipek.com. We customized the login with the premium features and made the user experience very smooth.
After a few days building out our site, I decided it was good idea to start fresh and clean. Oops… forgot about the plugins and media… The support for this plugin was responsive and hospitable. I highly recommend this plugin and developer group.
Thank you,
CG

Works great and Daniel is probably the most prompt and helpful plugin developer I’ve encountered.

The free plugin proved me that password protection works.
The paid plugin works amazingly well, and that’s exactly what I needed.

Perfect way to deceive customers….give 0.01% free, but pay for 99.99%, another tin of snake oil.

The free version of this plugin demonstrated to me that it was capable of doing what I needed it to do if I paid for the premium version. I had just gotten done corresponding with a experienced WP plugin developer who was going to charge me $100+ for a custom implementation of the features I needed. Passsword Protect WordPress cost me 10 British pounds ($15.25 USD) to do the same thing and I had it up and running the way I wanted it within less than an hour. The CSS styling feature is priceless!
I don’t have a problem paying for extra features on a plugin. Folks are so used to getting everything related to WordPress for free that when some guy wants compensation for his work, they get ugly. For all you complainers, when was the last time you donated to a plugin developer?
Rick
PS: How many times have you searched for and found a plugin that does exactly what you need and then you discover that the developer hasn’t updated it in a couple of years. That’s what often happens when somebody gets tired of working for free.
