Will this plug-in work with the Oxygen Custom Templating?

I use Oxygen to run my website’s templates and have put literally hundreds of hours into setting up custom graphics and templates…. Interested in starting up a Patreon and hopefully linking it to my website, but I’m worried the post-locking feature won’t work with Oxygen. Any advice? Anyone tried to make this work?

HI when I activate the plugin the site starts notifying me of “DEPRECATED:….” messages and various problems in different folders, files, lines. notifications appear in my control panel. I have some screens if it helps. I use the Hello theme. I tried updating the php but it doesn’t seem to solve the problem. I upgraded to the updated version and downgraded to the first version present. The problem is not solved.

Hello, most of the time when new members subscribe to get access to my protected materials they run into issues preventing them to download these contents. Sometimes they say it’s like their account has not been created when they sign up on Patreon or their password is incorrect, etc. Even if they paid and have an account on Patreon, it’s still not recognised as a real or authorised account.
Sometimes I’ve noticed that in my Users list on my WordPress Website the user is not added at all or the email field is empty. Now I’m having an issue with a user who is in the users list on my website, but still can’t access my contents.
I’ve copied the list of the last 50 connection errors from my WordPress plugin:

Hi! I have a website where I sell tutorials through Patreon and when a Patreon member tries to click on the “Unlock with Patreon” button they are taken to a Patreon checkout page, even though they are already a paying member.
If they click on “Refresh to access this content” then they are thrown back to the same page, so they can’t watch my content.
I’ve been using this plugin for years, I always watched my content as administrator, so I’m not sure if never worked well or just now? But this is the first time when someone mentioned that can’t watch my tutorials, so I’m assuming that this problem only started recently.

Hi! We are facing a few errors with the plugin:

WordPress blog posts do not update after making changes on Patreon posts. I thought they could be resynced? Correct me if I’m wrong.
We are unable to disconnect the plugin from our Patreon account and connect it again. We had to do this from Patreon’s account side.

Patreon plugin crashes site

I’ve been trying to get this plugin to work for more than a year. Everytime I install it and activate it, my site goes off line. As soon as I go onto the server and delete the plugin, the pops back up like the Undertaker.

I am running WP 7.1 and the TagDiv Newspaper theme. I have a lot of plugins installed so guessing it’s some kind of conflict, but any info would be much appreciated.

Hi, I have converted my website into an android app. However, inside an android app it is not allowed to login third party app or OAuth. So patrons who uses my app and want to unlock gated content unable to do so inside my app because it needs them to login into Patreon and do OAuth.

The only possible way is for them to login and do OAuth in a web browser, after that they can return to the app and the content will already be unlocked.

So my concern here, can I make the ‘unlock with patreon’ button and the ‘refresh if you are existing user’ link in the gated content to be opened in a new tab so that it will bring the user to a browser instead of opening the window in my app?

I am using the Patreon plugin on a site in development. I am also using CPT UI and Advanced Custom Fields along with Elementor Pro. In my design I have templates with custom fields and when activating a tier level for a certain archive page the plugin does not require a login.

In another instant where I have a single post with ACF active the login only protects the post content thus leaving the ACF available to access. Is there a way to disallow access to the archive page and the single post entirely?

I modified /classes/patreon_frontend.php and added the following code inside the if hide content loop because my theme uses the_content to render the header and footer. That caused the patreon button to appear multiple times on the page and looked bad.

The original code was:

Hi there!

I’ve recently triaged a case where a site was experiencing some performance issues. The site was making excessive database queries, leading to very slow requests and throttling.

After examining things closer, we found that every image on each page and post were leading to a query for the image and various subsizes, like the following.

Examining the stack trace for these requests led to this:

Patreon_Compatibility->jetpack_photon_skip_image, attachment_url_to_postid

I see the plugin has a compatibility fixer to try to identify gated images and disable the Jetpack Photon Image CDN for them.

Note that this may lead to severe performance issues on sites with a lot of images and traffic. It may be worth reviewing further and finding a more optimized solution.

“Email is blocked” Patreon does not add the account email to new accounts

Hello,
I am offering digital content to patrons using my WordPress website.
For many, the website works well without issues, but the users who haven’t verified their email address beforehand on Patreon will encounter problems gaining access.

“Your email is blocked” is the sent error message they’ll receive.
I think that Patreon does not send the email for new accounts if the email address is not properly verified. Old Patreon accounts are able to not have a verified email. In their cases, the “email” field in User settings just remains empty.

I have to manually copy and paste their email into their WordPress accounts. Verifying their email address after creating the account won’t fix the issue.

I’d be more than happy to receive help, as this error has cost me many patrons unsatisfied with content access.

Admin panel icon not adaptive to themes

The plugin’s icon color in admin sidebar is static, does not behave as other icons that adapt to any choosen theme. I can’t post a pucture directly, but testing it as easy as switching themes in Users -> Profile. The icon becomes especially invisible on light theme. Small thing, just one of the things that makes the plugin feel unpolished.

Publish podcast episode from Patreon to WordPress

Greetings, I do not speak English but I try. My case is the following.

– I have a podcast, said podcast has a wordpress website where my followers can listen to my regular episodes (in addition to Spotify, etc).
– I have a page on Patreon, with episodes from my podcast, but these episodes are exclusive for patrons, with various price ranges.

The integration with WordPress catches my attention, but when it comes to audio, I have a couple of questions:

– If X exclusive episode for patrons is located on my patreon page, is it possible to publish said episode (and its audio) on my wordpress site, to be listened to by my patrons?
– With this plugin I could publish my exclusive episodes for patrons “from patreon” to my wordpress website and that my patrons can listen to these exclusive episodes from my wordpress website and not necessarily from my patreon page? (obviously logging in with your patreon account?

Patreon plugin massively slowing my site down

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help on this issue!

I recently installed the Patreon plugin and it’s working swimmingly at making specific webpages accessible to only our Patrons. However, since doing so, I noticed my site runs incredibly slow, in fact some pages don’t even load.

I had no idea what was going on and reached out to my host, who immediately pinpointed the problem – the Patreon plugin. They said that nothing at all was wrong with my server or files, but that the Patreon plugin was using up a ton of resources (they didn’t state why). Sure enough, when I temporarily deactivated the plugin, my site was back to running normally; then when I activated it again, we’re back to being slow.

I’m curious if anyone else has run into this problem and, if so, what you did to fix it? My host is suggesting I upgrade to a new (more expensive) plan, which I’d like to avoid.

Does the Plugin Import Patreon Comments?

When will syncing from WP to Patreon be available?

Hi,

I’ve read the posts here about syncing between WP and Patreon. It has been made clear in the past that syncing is from Patreon to WP only. However, the replies from Codebard have said the syncing from WP to Patreon are not currently available. When, exactly, will syncing from WP to Patreon be available?

I do not imagine I am the only person that wants to use their ‘main’ site to feed Patreon. The tools available on the ‘main’ site are superior to that of Patreon and so I am surprised that there are not more people wanting to create posts in their ‘main’ and sync them to Patreon.

Hi, my wordpress site has become very, very slow. To verify the cause, I deactivated ALL the plugins, and then reactivated them one at a time. I found that the PATREON plugin takes response times from 3 sec to 9 sec. Deactivated the Patreon plugin the response times are back to about 3 sec. Is there anything that can be done to fix the problem? Thank you.

I have tried even to change my server and activate/deactivate every single plugin one by one just to confirm it’s not a compatibility issue but it still keeps the loading very slow.

The problem always appears when Patreon plugin is activated.

I also tried to enable/disable the image locking features as I read in other topics but it’s not the problem.

Any solution? Is any other way to connect WP and Patreon pledges?

I noticed a previous user was complaining about slow load times. Im using the Newsmag theme on my site and the latest version of the Patreon plugin slows my load times to a stand still. Is there a known problem with this theme?

Hi everyone! I tried to access the support forum, but the system does not allow me to write a topic. So, I am asking for help here.

I installed the Patreon plugin on my website and started locking posts. So I noticed that search engines no longer index the meta description or the first few sentences of my locked posts. Instead, they index the plugin caption inviting people to subscribe. That is, this caption is visible under the title of my articles indexed in search engines. Therefore, I would like to know how to prevent this from happening and make sure that search engines index correctly the articles blocked by the plugin. That is, they should index the meta description, not the Patreon caption. And this is the main problem. After that, I would like to know if it is possible to prevent the plugin from locking the featured images of the posts, but this is not urgent, the key issue is the indexing because readers do not click on the search page immediately seeing that the article is restricted to subscribers.

Plugin prevents Media Library Thumbnails from showing

As the title says, the Patreon plugin is preventing the media library thumbnails from showing up.

Basically, the media library shows up with gray squares and doesn’t load any of the image thumbnails. I use my site mostly as a portfolio/gallery and posts my work on there. Though it doesn’t affect my site outwardly, it does keep me from making posts or utilizing the media library. For the time being, I have deactivated the plugin.

I wanted to also add, my site is currently under maintenance for a different reason. I’m in no rush to get this fixed, but I thought maybe I’m not the only one with the issue.

I have chosen to have two domains for my business – one in Swedish and one in English. I have recently become a creator on Patreon. Installing, activating and connecting my Patreon to my English site sophiegracemeditations.com was no problem. But with the other site (sophiegrace.se) I can’t get it to work.
