Just thought I let everyone know: this plugin stopped working and crashed my site.
I disabled the plugin via FTP and the site was back…
I am going to find a new plugin that works, thanks for your time.
This plugin does what I need it to do, hurrah! But I need more, more products, with different urls to correspond. This supposedly is on the PRo version, but I do not see a pro version available. Is this something that will be coming soon? Or do you have an alternative? This is working so nicely! Thank you!
]]>Is there a way to insert a coupon code?
]]>I can’t get the auto responder email to work.
I installed the WP-Mail-SMTP so that my email goes out using SMTP. Plugin tested and it works.
I changed paypal-responder ipn.php to use wp_mail instead of mail and I added the required library require_once(“/var/www/html/wp-load.php”);
I tested wp_mail by itself and it does send out an email.
Now I am wondering that maybe this code never gets executed:
//mail to buyer
wp_mail( $payer_email, $subject, $message, $headers );
How do I debug it? I do I make sure this code get executed? Or how do I visualize the content of the variables inside ipn.php?
Thanks,

I have tried updating the Responders and Products but have had no luck.
I set up paypal responder with my paypal email address and now folks are telling me they’re buying the product, going through paypal payments screen and being redirected as usual to download the product. But no emails from paypal and no payments either. How to check?

I have installed your plugin and worked great for first product created, but it’s not working for the rest of them, showing “Description” and value of payment in 0. This is the URL: https://marielolivera.com/en/spanish-courses/.

if you click on the second paypal button on the above shop page, the amount isn’t showing like on the first button. Both products are set up the same, and I have made other buttons previously with out any issues.
Can you help me resolve.
Thanks you,

Paypal Responder does not send out the customized standard email I would like to send out to customers after they have purchased a product.
The error message on PayPal (http response 500) points to the server and the error message on server log points to Paypal Responder.
Server Log error message in detail:
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_bloginfo() in /mnt/webs/a0/60/54411660/htdocs/7f3a468fc6231132f4396eccd4e6559d/wp-content/plugins/paypal-responder/ipn.php on line 141

I’m confused by where the URL is actually. Hope this makes sense.
Hi there, I am looking for a simple solution (no carts, light and fast), so you think you could add AS3 integration to your pro version? With link expiry obviously.
All the Paypal plugins I came across have cart built in, which I don’t need.
Hello Enigma Support,
I received a notification from PayPal today because they’re upgrading their IPN endpoints and the certificates need to be upgraded (see email below). I’ve considered updating to the Pro version in the future as I add more products and I want to make sure the app has been updated — if needed.
No where in the plugin’s setup does it require you to add a Notification URL in PayPal, so this may be a moot point. But I wanted to get official word from the plugin author:
From Paypal:
As we have previously communicated to you, PayPal is upgrading the certificate for https://www.paypal.com to SHA-256. This endpoint is also used by merchants using the Instant Payment Notification (IPN) product.
This upgrade is scheduled for 9/30/2015; however, we may need to change this date on short notice to you to align to the industry security standard.
You’re receiving this notification because you’ve been identified as a merchant who has used IPN endpoints within the past year. If you have not made the necessary changes, we urge you to do so right away to avoid a disruption of your service!
Because these changes are technical in nature, we advise that you consult with your individuals responsible for your PayPal integration. They will be able to identify what, if any, changes are needed. Please share this email and the hyperlinks below with your technical contact for evaluation.
Testing in the Sandbox is one of the best ways to make sure your integration works. Sandbox endpoints have been upgraded to accept secure connections by the SHA-256 Certificates.

PayPal provided a link with more info here: https://www.paypal-knowledge.com/resources/sites/PAYPAL/content/live/FAQ/1000/FAQ1766/en_US/2015%20Merchant%20Security%20System%20Upgrade%20Guide%20%28U.S.%20English%29.pdf
Can you confirm that either a) the plugin can handle this upcoming PayPal upgrade or b) the plugin doesn’t use the official IPN so this is a moot point. Thanks in advance for your help!
]]>Everything ok but the email sending… not working at all. The buyer never receives an email (not in the trash, spam or any folder…).
I’m using the free version but planning to move to pro… but reluctant because of that (not sending email… What would happen with my downloable stuff if a simple email doesn’t work?)
Any ideas??
]]>I am not seeing the dollar amounts for my items, what to do?

Hi
We installed the plugin and set it up and implemented the short codes. Everything is working great on that, emails going out just fine. However we have noticed a problem related to other parts of the website that use paypal now. We have an event registration system (event espresso) that uses Paypal for payments. What we’re seeing now is that when people register for an event with event espresso and pay with Paypal, they get the autoresponder email from this plugin, even though they did not click on a payment button from this plugin. Event Espresso uses its own payment gateway setup but somehow the emails from this plugin are going to people paying with other means,
Any thoughts?
thanks
HI,
I have used your plug in on one of my websites with great success and decided to install the pro version on https://www.brca-lsor.org and despite have products set up and “buy now” buttons appearing on my page they don’t “hyperlink” to paypal.
The page is https://www.brca-lsor.org/payment which has a password of computer to see at this stage.
The buttons were originally inserted in another plugin (tablepress) as per my other site but since this did not work I direct coded them into a table and got the same result – nothing worked!.
Interestingly if I preview the table plugin on its own then the buttons work in this preview mode.
I am confused as I can not see what I’ve done wrong or got set wrong.

]]>Hello Maeve, or anyone else that might be able to help…
When I try to activate the PayPal Responder plugin, I get an error message saying:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in /var/www/wp-content/plugins/paypal-responder/ipn.php on line 61
I’m running the latest version of WordPress (4.1) and downloaded the latest version of the plugin (1.2). I’ve tried deactivating all of my other plugins but still got the same response.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Tim.

I am starting to do some email marketing, and I was thinking that with being able to use HTML in marketing emails that it would be great to be able to put short code for products into HTML pages and into HTML emails and have it refer back to WordPress where it is installed and the products are managed. What think o’ wise ones?
]]>I altered the code to use paypal sandbox so I could test things.
However, this gives me no way to test whether emails are sent, because the sandbox has it’s own email system that doesn’t accept from outside.
How can I test emails without finding out the hard way if it doesn’t work on a real customer?
You must have had to test this during development. How did you do that?
Thanks.
]]>I’ve configured the plugin correctly but it doesn’t send an auto-reply or redirect the purchaser, although it does process the payment. I had someone click Buy Now at my site and complete the PayPal process twice.
Is their a known issue or some obvious things I could check?
]]>Greetings!
This plugin seemed extremely promising and was exactly what I was searching for, but after configuring everything, the “buy” (or in my case donate) buttons are not working on my site.
I configured everything properly using a valid Paypal ID, created an email auto-responder, created my products, pasted the snipped of code on my page and published it.
But on the actual website, when I click one of the “donate with paypal” buttons to sell my tickets for my charity concert, nothing happens. It’s a dud.
I would really appreciate some assistance here since I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m experienced with wordpress but this baffles me.
Thanks in advance for a quick reply!
]]>Hi :
I made two test with the plugin and I’m not sure why the autoresponder is not working.
Even I was lookig in the paypal_transactions table and this is empty ( is normal ? ).
I set up WP_DEBUG true and nothing.
I’m testing in the light version but I have the pro version and a my clients told me they never get a email of confirmation the sell only the mail from paypal ( not in the span folder neither ).
Any idea ?
Thanks
I bought Paypal Responder Pro for my website because it seems it fits my needs (on the paper). But after setup I got an issue with Paypal payment screen : the product name field and the price fields are blanck.

]]>First of all, I want to thank you for making an awesome, easy-to-use, ‘light’ plugin for paypal integration. It was exactly what we were looking for!
I’ve been having an issue with the responder email html. It says, “html is accepted”, so I assumed I had to format the entire email in html, but the email received was just a page of html coding.
After that, I tried a copy & paste from gmail, and the images and links didn’t work, so it’s somewhere in between.
The end result is the correct html, but it’s not formatting as html, and coming through as plain text. (example: <img style=”float: left;” src=”https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150×150&cht=qr&chl=%5Bitem_name%5D%20confirmed%20%5Btxn_id%5D” /> doesn’t appear as an image)
Thank you in advance for your help! And thank you for the awesome plugin!
