Hi,
The plugin will be updated with a more up-to-date version of PDF.JS because the current version 2.2.228 is vulnerable.
The following CVE(s) affect this library version:
? CVE-2024-4367
? CVE-2024-34342
Thanks!
Since updating my website (OceanWP) I get an error message when inserting a PDF: (cannot load script at: https://jesus-glauben.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/2024-07-29-Infobrief-August-September-2024.pdf) even though the link is error-free.
Hi!
Recently updated the entire site (www.jakoeb.com) and just noticed that every page where I have a PDF embedded, it now says:
Setting up fake worker failed: “Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘WorkerMessageHandler’)”.
I’m assuming there might be a mismatch with version, since on the plugin site it mentions that the plugin hasn’t been updated to work with the latest WordPress version, but just wanted to double check with you guys.
Disabling the PDF Embedder plugin removes the error, but of course it also won’t display any PDFs.

Hello,
When I use a block PDF Embedder, it’s blocked due to CSP. Allowing unsafe-eval is CSP rules is a bad practice. Can you fix it?
The error:
Uncaught EvalError: Refused to evaluate a string as JavaScript because 'unsafe-eval' is not an allowed source of script in the following Content Security Policy directive.
Thanks.

Hello, I uploaded some PDFs yesterday to our website running Divi and I can only display hyperlinks, not small PDF previews way it used to. Scroll to bottom of page to see “2022 Holden Grant Reports presented November 2023“. WP says you haven’t updated compatibility with with my WP version 6.6.2. I uploaded PDFs through old Divi Media Library and put links into Divi text module. Should I have used Code Module? Texts used to work. Been awhile since I’ve edited the site with this plug-in but last I looked I thought I had other PDFs previewing OK. Not using block editor in Divi — is that the problem or am I missing something basic?
Hi,
I’ve installed this plugin, but I got 3 problems with my pdf:
Thanks for help to check these issues.
other files of 18 pages or so load fine in the plug-in. File size of 47 pages shows blank pages. Files are all modified on Mac and saved as Mac PDF. Does the plug-in only recognize raw PDF files such as what you would get if you export a Mac PDF to PDF?
This is happening on all of the pdfs (100s) on the site, and only started happening recently, though I don’t know exactly when.
I turned off all plugins except pdf embedder and that changed nothing.
When I looked at the console I found this message:
Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at https://rv6592.a2cdn1.secureserver.net/wp-content/plugins/pdf-embedder/assets/js/pdfemb.min.js?ver=4.8.2&time=1726280832. (Reason: CORS header ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ missing). Status code: 200.
I don’t know how to fix that error.
not so much help/support, as a suggestion.. would be cool if there was a way for the embedded pdfs to load only if the embedding tag comes into view – reason for this is that some sites have other media like audios, which often won’t play till the pdf has rendered first.

On the website https://snudifo34.fr/, with PDF Embedder Premium 5.2.3, I have this message for all pdf:

What can I do?

My plugins screen displays the message “This plugin is active but may not function correctly because required plugins are missing or inactive.” Also, “Requires: PDF Embedder” (which has not been tested with my current version of WordPress)

We have noticed that the PDF Embedder plugin cannot correctly retrieve the PDF ID for some PDFs, defaulting to 0. This causes multiple PDFs with ID 0 on the same page, and when the full-screen mode is activated, the plugin’s JavaScript always refers to the first PDF. This may be due to a bug or a version mismatch between the PDF Embedder plugin and the current WordPress version. The plugin is tested up to version 6.5.5, but we are using version 6.6+.
The following site shows the problem.
Project 5 – ART 250 / MCOM 231 (twu.ca)
The first PDF is fine because the PDF is retrieved perfectly. But the others are not. When the problematic PDF in mobile, they always show the first one with ID 0.
Hi,
Everything on my site is fully updated, wordpress, themes and plugins etc. The navigation menu works fine on desktop but shows the hamburger icon on mobile and will not open when pressed.
I have disabled all plugins and found that with PDF Embedder enabled the menu does not work, but with the plugin disabled it works fine.
My WordPress is version 6.6.1, is your plugin compatible?
Thank you
Hi,
I am having some noob problems. Last month I set up the site and the page that I have linked has 5 photo links to pages with pdfs that were set up using the PDF EMBED plugin. I had decided that the pdfs on those pages were a little low on the pages and went in to raise up the container that held the pdf. I set the top spacing to -20px and saved. When I reopened the pdf was not there, the area blank.
If you open the links you will see that the other 4 links are still operating correctly. I only changed the first. I went back in a changed the -20 back to 0 but no go.
I tried to go back to an earlier save but apparently All-in-one WP Migration does not support my host HostGator…wish they had told me! (Is there a backup plugin that does?)
And when I try to rebuild the page I can’t find the PDF Embed icon to drag to the page…like I said I’m very new here. Do I edit in the standard editor or elementor? And I don’t know the best route to get out of this jam.
Thanks so much for any help.

Hello!
I’m an experienced WordPress developer. I’ve been developing a new site that uses the PDF Embedder plugin and is hosted on WP Engine.
When I log into my WP Engine online portal, I see the PDF Embedder plugin is listed as having an xss security risk per the screenshot below:
Please let me know if you are going to provide a fix for this soon. Or, provide a link if you already fixed this issue and my information is old.
Thank you!
Hi, in the css for the plugin this is stated:
#mainContainer {
min-width: 350px;
}
I can’t seem to target that class, so how can I change it to
#mainContainer {
min-width: 100%;
}
I’m asking because I have pdf:s in columns, and when they get below 350px, the pdf expands out of the column = not nice.
I’ve got PDFs embedded in tabs (Kadence Blocks tab element). Some of the PDFs don’t work with the auto width/height when you switch to their associated tab.
I did notice that if you resize the browser window, the PDF would adjust and properly fit to the container. I added a script to send a resize event after a tab is clicked, but it hasn’t worked. Is there some other function I can use to force the plugin to refresh the PDF or recalculate the size?

Hello,
After upgrading to version 4.8.0, some embedded fonts are no longer displaying. The PDF files uploaded to the media library themselves are fine and display correctly with a different PDF embedding plugin. Downgrading to version 4.7.1 resolves the issue, and the fonts display correctly.
When I checked the console, I saw the following error:
Error during font loading: The CMap "baseUrl" parameter must be specified, ensure that the "cMapUrl" and "cMapPacked" API parameters are provided.
Thanks!
PDFs do not show. Error is: Call to undefined function PDFEmbedder\add_settings_error() in /var/www/mybradfordvillage/wp-content/plugins/pdf-embedder/src/Options.php:112

Some of my pdfs are uploaded directly to the wp-uploads folder and included via the normal media upload interface, while others are manually uploaded to other folders in the same domain, but included via the entire url. I must keep this file organization.
In the second case they are no longer displayed after the update, why?
This is the code inside the iframe of the wppdfem-frame-container-0:
https://www.funivie.org/web/?url=https://www.funivie.org/documenti/statistiche/IMPIANTI_ITALIANI.pdf&index=1&pdfID=0
the first part of the url of the pdf is doubled, surely this is the problem to be solved
