I’m using PeepSo plugin for my social networking site. However, all registrations are done through User Profile Builder plugin. When users enter their country in the registration form that country is not visible in PeepSo profile so users have to enter it there again.

Is there a way to show entered country in PeepSo profile immediately without users having to do the same action twice? Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi, I would like to know if it’s possible to use Peepso as an admin only bulletin board. I would like to use it to display site related notifications to my visitors in a feed.

I only want to use the activity page and do not want a login option there. I also don’t want a header image and invitation to join the community.

I have also noticed that when I’m logged in, the activity page is nicely formatted but when I access it as a guest, it is not displaying nicely,

I have an established blog and want to add a paid community option. Peepso looks like a great choice, especially with the upload and share files feature, but from what I’m seeing there’s no way to use it without using the built-in theme, which appears to make it impossible to use with existing sites?

Hello, for some reason the peepso plugin suddenly doesnt allow me to access backend and makes my site slow. i deactivated all plugins and found it was coming from peepso. How can this be fixed or is this something that is happening to others too? perhaps i need to reset some peepso settings (however i cant access backend to do that… and if i disable peepso, how can i access its settings?). Can peepso be deleted without losing all data, will that help?

the only other theory i have is that there could be some sort of cache issue. i updated peepso today and the updates dont seem to be reflected on the frontend however its file has been updated.

edit: ive changed from gecko theme to something else and that seemed to allow me back on backend, however everything is still way too slow to work with. then when i went back to gecko a critical error occurred and i couldnt access backend

My Groups is activated but not connected. I can’t create Groups

how do I change the words in that box to another I want. Please help me out.

I am now facing problems with the front end of site. The error message states there are no group and I do not have permission to view. I want to allow users to view without being logged in but… they cannot comment or create a group without registration.

Hello!

I love the moderation capabilities on peepso however theres one major flaw i found. When a member is banned their content does not get hidden so you would need to scramble to hide or delete them one by one. A member gets banned for bad behavior/not following rules so naturally it makes sense to automatically hide their content. Sometimes a ban is more appropriate than a delete if there’s a chance of an unban in the future.

I urge the peepso developers to hide posts upon a user ban (or to make this an option in the configuration) or to add a delete user/content option from the frontend.

note that frontend moderation is crucial as its not practical to allow every admin backend access. This is really important especially when handling a larger amount of site traffic.

hi, i migrated finally on my dev site. my client wants to see all photos ( so also the group photos and media) of the site and all media on a seperate page. is do not see how this os possible. the widgets only show directly posted media and photos. any Ideas?

all works fine until it starts migrating photo albums. there is no progress. i do not have many photo’s, so that cannot be the problem. i am worried once it starts migrating video (or are they part of the photo’s?). while migrating it takes almost all traffic away from my vps. any idea’s?

I want to make a website intended as just a Storage Unit.

It is to be used to store information of the Men in my Church— because I manage Data of the Men’s Group.

The Men need to feel loved and cared for. So I need a way to wish and want to wish each person ” Happy Birthday ” on their Birthdays.

This is what necessitated me to want to make a website that allows them to Sign up and fill in their information, including their Birth Date.

After Signing up, they don’t engage with the website again, unless they want to change and update their information.

Or, except they just want to view information of other Members.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
We could give each Member a small form to fill.

Then extract the information and place them on an Excel Sheet.

Each Day, I could check the Excel Sheet to know who has Birthday, then I can send an Email and a WhatsApp Message to that Member, wishing them ” Happy Birthday“.

THE CHALLENGE
It’s too much work going through the Excel Sheet everyday.

THE SOLUTION
Because it’s too much work going through the Excel Sheet everyday, I wanted to Automate the process– by creating a website that allows the Members of the Men’s Group of my Church to come online and fill their Information through PeepSo Sign Up Form.

Then, they will receive a Birthday notification from our website by 1am on their Birthday.

This Data will be pulled from the Birth Date that they filled, when they Signed up.

The site registration page is completely blank. Only the title is displayed. What to do?

Hi, how might this layout issue be resolved please:
a) User profile stream setup and looks/laid out just like this: https://www.peepso.com/profile/?sinisakrisan/
b) Cover profile height setting in Gecko customizer settings sets the height correctly when on the profile stream tab/link as above.
c) However, when switching to any of the other profile tabs – two things happen:
(i) The cover height changes/reduces and doesn’t respect the Gecko profile cover height setting (see here for comparison images).
(ii) The ‘settings box’ doesn’t fill the width of the page like it does on the first stream tab (see here for comparison images).

Pls, any idea how I might sort.

Dear Peepso, it’s been too long but life unexpectedly got very challenging. Peepso is such a fab script and glad to be using again. A few things I’ve noticed in the free version.

a) The higher level ‘About’ tab on the user profile might be better labelled as ‘Settings’.
b) In the user profile name popup, VIP icons still have their original label text appended after any new label entered.
c) Profile set to public is still restricted by landing page/login.
d) In the messenger when a chat is between just two users – the label above states: ‘conversation with x and’ (i.e. the ‘and’ still being printed when not relevant seems odd imo).
e) Notifications – if say set to every hour – the same thing is sent/emailed even if no change from prior send. Is only logical to send/resend if new activity to advise about.
f) If post with an image initially set to only me (or some other privacy) – but is later changed to public (etc) – the image remains only me. Basically, the post and the image are not harmonized as regards their privacy setting. And there’s no way to adjust the image setting.

Ofc if need be, I can explain more re any of the above.

I have spent several days studying the code of your plugin, and I really liked some of the solutions. However, there are significant drawbacks in this plugin that make it unsuitable for use in our time.

1. The most important issue is the lack of the ability to pre-moderate user messages. Currently, some individuals are propagating violence and war. How can we allow anyone to publish messages on the site? This can lead to being banned by Google, and the site may also face questions from law enforcement. The administrator should have the ability to pre-moderate messages from new users (especially in groups) and allow trusted users the freedom to publish without moderation.

In your group, participants have repeatedly mentioned the need for the addition of comprehensive moderation functionality, but you ignore this and refer users to third-party developers.

2. It is not advisable to open original photos in a lightbox – it is bad practice. Some photos uploaded by users have too large of a file size for this. It would be better to implement the functionality of displaying a large preview of a specific size set by the administrator, instead of the original photo, allowing the administrator to choose not to save the original photos in order to save disk space.
3. The administrator should have the ability to receive emails when new posts and comments are published in groups. This is a good practice for small communities.
4. Scheduled publishing is available either only to administrators or to all roles. It would be more appropriate to restrict the choice to specific roles. This can be easily implemented, for example, like this: public function postbox_schedule_interaction($interactions)

5. Users have the ability to edit and delete their old posts. This is unacceptable, a serious mistake.

That’s all for now, but upon further examination of the code, I would be able to find many more similar flaws.

I hope that over time you will fix the flaws and expand the functionality of your plugin. Then I will be among the first to purchase a license from you.

I’ve been developing for several years a social website  (https://goutu.org) based on Peepso plugin (free version at the moment).  I noticed two opportunities for improvement in the direction of developers in Peepso, and I hope you’ll take them into consideration for future updates : 

1. When creating a custom profile field, we are missing the possibility to provide a “slug” to the field, as we could do for WP posts. The only “key” to the field is computed by Peepso and results in an arbitrary ID (e.g. “peepso_user_field_22598”), but this ID will be different on the remote version of my website. Therefore, I’m having a hard time accessing this field from the code. It would be much easier to address custom fields whenever we had the possibility to declare this slug in the field creation form, without being shown to the end user.
2. The blogposts class only allows “post” post type to be published and treated as an embedded object with its companion post. This forces me to completely replicate this blogpost class on my own code, since I need to have activities added to the activty stream, for other post types than “post” (e.g. “recipe”, or “menu”…). It’s a pity, just because there are 2 or 3 lines of code checking the post_type and discarding it, if different from “post”. The plugin would be much more expandable if there was a filter defined for allowed post types into the blogpost class.

I have the peepso plugin and gecko theme installed on my site, peepso comments have a different class and therefor do not show up in the default wordpress comment widget and tab. How can I change the default WordPress comment class to the peepso class or at least add the peepso class alongside the default one? I believe the peepso class is either ps-comments or ps-js-comments . As for wordpress, i believe its wp_comment
