Dear developers.
Can you please look into updating the excellent addons People Lists and User Avatar for use with WordPress 4. These plugins are wonderful when working with WordPress as a CMS, but right now I am at a crossroad – I don’t dare update to WordPress 4 without knowing if these plugins will work. Because of this I have just two options:
1. Never update WordPress (and that sounds like a bad idea).
2. Get rid of two of my favorite addons (and that doesn’t sound like a nmice idea either).
Sooner or later I have to go with option number 2, unless these great plugins are updated.

I’ve just installed the Plugin and i’m not goot with codes at all ?? (i understand at least how some shortcodes work).
I want to display custom fields information from Pie Register on the list.
I’ve tried another Plugin called Members List, where i could add my custom fields (from a dropdown list) to the User List Markup, the Markup would look like this (e.g. in which Departement my user is):
Database Field: departement
Field Name: Departement (i can edit this field)
Mark-Up: <div class="tern_wp_members_departement">%value%</div> (I can edit this field too)
The problem with the other plugin was, that the list wouldn’t update everytime new users have been added to the list or changed their custom fields values.
Question now:
What’s the code to get the custom field values in the Template Info of People List Plugin?
I’ve seen your tutorial with filters, but I don’t understand it, don’t know if it’s the same and if there is an easier way.
P.S.: What’s the Before & After-Thing?
P.S.2: I’ve disabled line 334 in the people-list.php file because of the jquery problems with WP 3.6+

]]>I want to display the staff members of different groups on my website. Every groups should have an individual positition/title per member. One Member is in more than one group.
Is there a possibilty to do this?
I have two ‘People Lists’ plugins appearing in my Plugins listing. One is activated and the other is not.
I’m afraid that if I delete the redundant People Lists plugin it will remove my active lists.
How do I ‘clean up’ my Plugins listing please?

– go to Settings -> People List
– select list to work from
– try to drag name from left column to right column (make active)
RESULTS: can’t drag
I’ve tried this on Mac using both Safari and Chrome. Cannot get any cards to drag to the right column. Instead, the interface starts creating rows of blank areas below the columns (gray boxes)
Not sure why People Lists worked previously but not anymore, but if one of the wp_enqueue lines is removed from people-lists.php, the plugin again works fine. This solution is listed in the support forums here. For some reason, a javascript conflict is happening with jquery-ui is loaded by this plugin, though that didn’t happen in the past with the same theme, so it must be a change that happened in WP core. (The forums would suggest that it came about somewhere around version 3.5.2.)
]]>I have a site with several lists that are being displayed using the people lists shortcode. The links are returning 404 errors. I have tried the commenting out line 334 that was mentioned in a previous support thread but that didn’t help. Anyone have any idea how to troubleshoot this? Here’s a link to one of the pages displaying a “People List” list.

Click on any of the board members and you’ll go to a 404 page. All the thumbs and links are generated by using the People Lists settings page.

I am not a code person so rely heavily on the plugin view option.
I have created my people lists and have added fields to the profile as shown, but on my page when i insert the list I still only have an avatar and email address showing.
My list is of a group of practitioners who each have their own address and contact numbers and I’d like these to show too.
The fields are in the profiles but the content isn.t showing on the page –
please jhelp if you are able?
Also, they say you can make the lists “look pretty” – how? remeber – I know NOTHING about coding!!

We have so many subscribers on our site and they are all showing on the list page, they take so long to load that the list I want to add some people to doesn’t load. Can we limit the ‘available people’ to show only Contributor and Author and NOT subscribers? Thanks!

The pin/unpin is to help when the user list gets long…
but we’re using WooCommerce and also we encourage our visitors to become subscribers… we’ll have over 1,000 users…
Right now, it looks like List Users shows ALL users from the database.
How can I limit this to just show users with the role of “Author” — so all the “subscribers” get hidden for example?

Open people_lists.php and modify line 820.
FROM:

Nice plugin, but no good for a large and expanding community. I look forward to being able to add all my users (preferably by role) to a list and to be able to automatically list users as soon as they register.

]]>I’m using Gravity forms to include the custom fields I created in People Lists to the registration form. With it’s User Registration add-on Gravity Forms lets you map the fields you created in the form, to available meta fields. In my list, I can see several fields that I added, then deleted. So I assume the plugin isn’t fully deleting these. If you’re like me, you don’t like junk that should be deleted bloating your database. I’m not a developer, so I’m not totally sure of myself here, but this seems like a bug that needs fixed, so those things get completely removed. Thanks.

I’d like to automate the list. I’m using Gravity Forms to include all the new fields as part of the registration process. However, I’d like a way to just automatically add them (or at least those who use this particular registration form) to the list. Is this possible?
]]>I need to create various lists of groups of people where the people have different roles in the various groups.
Currently I don’t really have a good way of writing what role they have in that particular group (people list). There is a way to add custom fields per person which is great and very useful in many cases. But for this case it would just be impossible, since you’d basically have to add a custom field for each list you’re making and will just end up being a complete mess.
So, here’s a feature suggestion which would make this plugin more or less perfect for my needs: Add the possibility of adding custom fields per person per list. For my case it would just need to be one field where you could type in whatever you felt like for each person you had added to a list.
