It hangs like many others say. No replies on the forum. You’re giving people false hope.
Just get it offline and focus on your other plugins (which are working very well, btw); you’ll do yourself and many others a favor.

ran the plugin on quite a few sites and most timeout after a couple of plugins are tested.
Lots of false positives and errors.
surely there is a better plugin out there?

Useless! Gives a 404 error on plugins that ARE PHP 8 compatible. and then hangs. I’ve been waiting 30 minutes for it to unhang, and I finally gave up. It sure would be nice if this thing worked as advertised. Here’s what I got:
MaxButtons Pro 9.5.5
Response status: 404
Message: The audit requested does not exist.
Am I supposed to know what that means? How do I fix it? Right now it’s completely useless, and it hangs the software — never goes any farther to get to the rest of my plugins. Not a bit of help as is.

Rates several themes and plugins as compatible, which definitely are not and have crashed under newer PHP versions (Random Text 0.3.0, WP Bakery 6.0.5, Slideshow 2.3.1 (dereg’d since Apr ’22)) — and has rated several themes and plugins as incompatible which seem to work fine under PHP 7.4 previous versions (Duplicator 1.5.3.1, LayerSlider WP 6.8.2, UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore 1.23.3, WP Mail SMTP 3.7.0).
So to have false evals of plugins and themes, both directions, makes this a useless tool and a waste of time. It’s a great idea of course, but with the errors I’ve seen it means it can’t even be relied upon to give some clues in a PHP problem hunt.
If I’m missing something will happily change my tune — because like ChatGPT, it sure gives some attractive, confident-looking answers! And linting ought not be so buggy as all this. Truly quite surprised.

Obviously the website’s current php is working or the website wouldn’t render. But you have no way to check future php versions and website compatibility. I wanted to see if my website would be compatible to PHP 8.0. This plugin redirects you to LocalWP …. whatever that is.

WordPress 6.2.0
PHP 8.0 and 8.1
PHP CC Plugin 1.6.1
Although plugin page says: “check your site for compatibility up to PHP 7.4!”, I found when using the plugin it will automatically use whatever PHP version the site is using–up to PHP v8.0. Tried using 8.0 and then 8.1 but the results showed were still only up to 8.0.
No errors, no problems, just results I could use. Based on screenshots shown on the plugin page, the new interface is very nice, make one choice then go.
This is a no maintenance plugin – bonus!

Misleading piece of Software, very outdated without information before install. Crap

Ya no revisa desde la versión 7.4… imposible verificar la 8.1

It just offers 7.x versions to check

I’m amazed that this is the only plugin recommended to be run before the latest WordPress PHP update. It says that its not compatible with my PHP 7.2 and clearly that’s true. It hangs repeatedly, sometimes throwing a error status of 0.

Stuck to a previuos era, when dinosaurs used to rule the planet.

Since 7.3 and 7.4 are deprecated its a surprise this has not been updated for PHP 8 so its not really very useful anymore.
]]>Rating: 1 star
last update before 1 year!
highest PHP version wich can be selected in the plugin is PHP 7.3
since November 2020 PHP 8.0 is released
since October 27th 2022 PHP 8.1.12 version is actual state of the art

WordPress recommends PHP 7.4 and this plugin stops at 7.3…

Gives error 500 error on PHP 8.
It does look like another developer has continued this plugin on github: 10up/phpcompat
But its too complicated for me to build the plugin package

Too bad. Would have been very helpful for the 7 to 8 update. 8 was released 2 years ago, but plugins and themes still have compatibility issues. 7.4 will stop receiving any updates at all in two months, but it’s is the only version people trust to run WordPress.

Only has very old php versions, not 7.4 or 8.

No PHP 7.4 or 8.

Facts:
1) This plug-in hasn’t been updated for almost a year.
2) A notification on installation that this plug-in might not be compatible with my version of WordPress and evidently it’s not because attempting to run it gives me a Server 500 error and fails.
3) This checker only checks for PHP up to 7.3, which in fact went into “Unsupported” status over 6 months ago.
4) PHP 8 has been out for general availability for almost TWO YEARS. And this is two versions past PHP 7.3.
In all, the project is worthless and has been for quite some time. One suspects that the authors are not very familiar with PHP. They could have this plug-in working perfectly with an hour of updating their code and they’re just not bothering to do so.

A good idea but no longer updater or supported with more modern versions of PHP

I’m afraid this plugin is in dire need of an update. It doesn’t go beyond PHP 7.3; which isn’t compatible with the current version of WordPress (6.1).
I hope the creator will be able to get it back on track.

WordPress recommends updating my site from PHP 7.3 and suggests using this plugin to check for compatibility. However this plugin doesn’t go beyond PHP 7.3. The plugin’s last update was almost a year ago. Seems like the developer abandoned it. It’s useless now.

When I saw the message that this plugin has not been verified to work with my recent version of wordpress I laughed. What a joke. wpengine should be ashamed and remove this plugin if they can’t be bothered to support it. Don’t they know php well enough?

Get with the times WPengine!

Doesn’t go over 7.3. Useless in 2022!

This plugin has not been updated to check for PHP v7.4 or v8.0.
The developer is unresponsive unless you are a wpengine customer. Even then you have to contact them through the wpengine support system for ACTIVE customers.

I wanted to check against PHP 8 but the plugin does not have this option.
I tried it any way on PHP 7.x and it didn’t run

This plugin gets a continuous FATAL ERROR on my server and wastes a lot of machine resources (not necessary). My server hangs and cuts the service> ERROR 500
Uninstall and everything works fine
Plugin NOT RECOMMENDED
