This plugin should be urgently banned from the wordpress repository. All websites with an invasion problem have this system installed.

For my ACF Pro projects that use meta boxes, I use FSE themes just because it is so much easier to create and edit custom templates for the project. However, Because FSE themes can only use blocks + HTML and CSS, this plugin is invaluable to me for some custom php coding.
One suggestion that I have and I would love to see for extra security, is to have the option for this plugin’s block to show up only in the templates, and not in posts, pages and CPTs. Of course I can only use TinyMCE and with ACF Pro disable the editor all together for the corresponding CPT, or simply remove the Post Content block from the appropriate templates, but having an option to limit this plugin to just the templates will be a more elegant solution.
Nevertheless, this is a very important plugin for me.

disabled an important plugin function without warning. With that I lost my codes and now I’m having to guess what I did years ago. He says he’s built in a code converter for the new model, but the crap just doesn’t work. As a result, I ended up losing everything.

Just out of the blue stopped supporting the shortcode. No deprecation notice, just an update one day and poof gone! Not a professional way to develop something so many people rely on. Take a hint from all the other developers out there – my other software tells me years or even months in advance about the deprecation of a feature. Absolutely not cool.

How dare you just kill the classic editor?
And not even a decent interim solution is offered, only a list of which pages no longer work.
This is really terrible. Everyone who was happy about a great connection to Digistore or something similar is suddenly faced with a problem – OR DON’T KNOW THAT THEY HAVE ONE!
Really, weak and with that, everything by this author died for me.
PS: Over 1 million users use the classic editor. Shutting out a million users isn’t a brilliant move.

Great plugin. Simple but effective. Works perfectly in the new WordPress v5.9 era w/ Full Site Editing and Block Themes.

Since version 3 this plugin stopped working with the classic editor and therefore it stopped working with several pagebuilders. The update was without any warnings.
I changed to this one: insert-php-code-snippet
Rating: 1 star
Does not work anymore and snippets can only be inserted when using the crappy gutenberg editor which definitely is no option. intext:”Plugin: PHP Everywhere”. Migration didn’t work and also truncated some code which makes it worthless. It’s a pitty as the old version was working like a charm.

I am so sad. I’d built a bunch of community tools that were using “PHP Everywhere” to help display databases within various pages and guides. I hadn’t updated my plugins for a while but did so today and my pages no longer work. With the upgrade, since I am using “Disable Gutenberg” along with 600,000+ other users, it no longer renders the PHP. Very very sad I have to try and figure out a new solution for all those pages after already putting so much work into them. Wish I could un-upgrade the plugin so badly.
EDIT: There is a way to back track! Here is a guide by another user and it works fine, just download the 2.0.3 file then uploaded it as a plugin and it will “replace” it. Will continue using it for now ?? https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/tutorial-for-moving-away-from-php-everywhere-3-0/ Would not recommend new users who have disabled Gutenberg to use this plugin though so I will rate 1 star. Thank you Alexander for creating it originally!

Since the 3.0 this plugin has become worthless. It no longer supports the [php_everywhere] shortcode. It can only be used in blocks, and then it just breaks the entire layout and formatting of my PHP.
It’s unfortunate, because it was a great plugin.

I just deleted this plugin in all of my websites i manage since the new version 3 is useless if you need it to work with elementor.
was a good plugin but now its useless!
thankyou developer for making your plugin useless
Rating: 1 star
The 3.0.0 upgrade remove [php_everywhere] shortcode and all codes you wrote will disappear, without any warnings!!
So all your php codes will stop working.
There is a upgrade wizard that’s not work properly. It just shows some part of your php codes in some pages that you used php in them. Not all pages and neither whole codes will retrievable.
I had no choice but downgrade to old version.

This upgrade to 3.0 lobotomizes the plugin, and the messaging utterly failed to make clear how drastic the change it makes to your site. I’m trying to make a bunch of key pages work again, and would love a few well chosen words w/ Mr. Fuchs, who is wasting my time by the bucketfull. Really displeased. Too bad I can’t tell his private sector employers what a mess he’s made and how much money he’s costing my customer. Really very unhappy. Do I have to uninstall 3.0 to get re-install the older version? Any tips? I need my code blocks back.

Plugin ceased to be useful from the moment the developer decided to disable support for the widget and classic editor of WordPress.
In addition to disabling, it released the update, caused problems on several sites and didn’t even bother about it (clearly).

“PHP Everywhere” used to be true to its name. It used to come with a PHP widget, it used to offer a PHP short code, along with a PHP option box. But in version 3.0 released today, this rainbow of colourful options have been deleted. We are left with just one option: a PHP Gutenberg block. And if you don’t like or can’t use Gutenberg, “Too bad for you, rainbows are useless anyway,” says now the plug-in.

When I updated the plugin and wordpress, for the latest versions the haphazard stopped working, and includes the message:
There is a critical error on your site.
I tried to revert to the previous versions and the error did not disappear .. it continued. and the page is unconfigured. Can you help me?

Your plugin is excellent!
I use it mainly the widget combined with Siteorigin page builder.
One important improvement you can add is a reasonable editor for the snippets.
For example, Ace is a plugged-in JS editor. It would reduce the possibility of simple errors and site crashes.
Another improvement is a safety net that will prevent site crash when an error occurs.
Thank you for the plugin

Anyone else getting a critical error every time this plug in is used? It like completely doesn’t allow me to acsess the whole page I’m working on but is the only helpful php code plugin I’ve found thus far.

it is an excellent plugin
easy to use but i had to delete it because it is shown even in writers panel

Please add codemirror editor to the Gutenberg blocks for the php everywhere block. Once that is done, I believe this could be the best plugin I’ve ever used.
I use this so much for so many things, but I have to edit my code in another editor, then copy and paste back, because I can’t stand not having the codemirror editor, for formatting, line numbers, tabbing, editor auto height, etc..
error checking before saving would be a life saver as well.
please, thanks!

Does exactly what it says and is a crucial addition for any 3rd party functionality or data inclusion. Even works within the “code block” of the Avada theme (using the option box method as mentioned in the documentation) and similar theme/page builders.
Very fast and friendly support.
Great, and thanks.

Had hoped it would work, but Beaver Builder flags the shortcode as bad code and it won’t display php or run code. Best of success for other uses.

Have tried many plugins of this type and have never been happy with outcome. Found PHP Everywhere and could not be happier with results.
Very simple to use and does what it says!

I try with my new project and it works so great! Easy to use. Well done! Thank you ??
]]>Rating: 3 stars
it works great. unfortunately though there does not seem to be a way to prevent the plugin from spamming every single post with an additional meta field.
I use the plugin only on a few pages, yet i still have to accept that every single page and post i make has the additional meta field “php_everywhere_code” with its standard text in it, and it updates and reappears every time you save the post/page.

I just want to thank you for this excellent plugin! It enabled me to add php code to the created WordPress Widget (php+html) in WP 5.0.2. Then I was able to select this widget in Elementor and add my php code. I’ve been struggling for quite some time to create an Elementor Section that would display 3 daily images of restaurant specials based on the day of the week and time.
