The plugin is good and does what it needs to do.
Add compatibility with current WP version.
This is a follow-up to my earlier question here
given the same setup, described in that earlier post:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/physically-upload-images-to-folders-and-collections-aka-folders-with-wp-lr-syn/
I have already hundreds of images uploaded to WP via Jordy Meows WP/LR Sync plugin. They are all organised in Folders and Collections on the Lightroom side.
1. What is the right workflow to establish physical folders inside my media directory for these, with the images physically inside these folders?
2. So that in future, if I update or add images to these on the Lightroom side, they will be synced to folder structure managed by RML and RPM?
I am a Pro-user of RML and RPM, and I still have support for these via codecanyon. (I will understand if you don’t want to answer publically, or I should rather open a support ticket via your website. Just let me know).
Thank you so much.

Hi there,
I’m using WP/LR Sync by Jordy Meow to upload my images to WP. I’m using your Real Media Library to have them nicely organised in the backend, especially when I add new images to posts.
I’m using your WP/LR Sync Folders with Real Media Library to have the folders and collections created in Lightroom to be virtually present in WP Media.
Now I installed your Real Physical Media so that new images will upload physically into the directory they are in. But it doesn’t work. They upload to the top level. But the folders and collections in Lightroom get created…
Here it says:
Moves new uploads directly to the correct physical folder (instantly done; no need to queue).
Where am I going wrong?
Why don’t they upload physically directly into the folder they are in inside Lightrooms WP/LR Sync Publish service?
Thank you so much for your help!
]]>Will it still work?
]]>How can I deactivate the plugin. It seems like you have overwritten the option to deactivate and delete the plugin.
I still want to use WP Real Media Library. I just don’t want to save all files in central folder.

]]>I purchased “WordPress Real Media Library – Media Categories / Folders File Manager” and installed this “Physical Custom Upload Folder” plugin. How can I ensure that newly imported posts from WP All Import have new folders created on the fly (when necessary)? I would like to base folders on %postname%
]]>hi there,
encountering a strange problem… using the download monitor plugin from @never5 togehter with wprml which works fine so far.
BUT: as soon as i am using the physical folders extension the uploads into the downloads monitor folder wont work anymore and so they are not transfered into their secure folder.
are there any known clitches between physical custom folders and the download monitor plugin??
ist there any way to get them work together?
solution highly appreciated – thanks in advance
]]>Hello,
I have a fresh install of the WP Real Media Library plugin, and yours. Most things works at expecte – I create a folder, I upload a new file and the new file gets the path I want. Almost; look at this url:
…/wp-content/uploads/unnamed-file.PDF/test.pdf
The folder name is “PDF”, but for some reason “unnamed-file.” is added in front of it. Doesnt matter which folder. Any ideas?

I am at sure how to solve this, and really need help with it. Thank you for the support.

]]>My Windows Apache Server setup is running out of space, so I decided to host all my larger uploaded files from a internal dedicate Ubuntu Server. I made a virtual folder linking to the server share using mklink /D. So far so good. But trying to upload a file to the new location is giving me a permission error (not sure how to fix this.) Help?
Unable to create directory /wp-content/uploads/MkLinkFolder/UbuntuServer/. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
I checked the upload with a very small file.

PS. it looks like your website is down…
I thought this plugin would be great for my site, because the client uploads multiple uniquely numbered test results so I thought putting the images in physical folders would be a great help. Unfortunately I underestimated how many folders this would create, and now there are hundreds of folders for the media library to scan and opening the media library completely locks up and freezes the site now.
Knowing how the database structure of WordPress works I’m not too hopeful in an easy workaround to undo this folder structure, but I figured I’d ask anyways.
Is there any script you have written or other support you could offer in how to remove the physical folders and put everything back into their year/month folders?
]]>I’ve created folders through FTP/FileZilla and they do not show up in my WordPress interface for Media Library, etc.
Refresh doesn’t help.
Is there a way for it to fetch but not wipe folders/files that have been created through the WP interface otherwise?
]]>Hi,
I use the Physical Custom Upload Folder and like it very much but i discovered that when i upload in general folder it does not put files in annual/month folder.
I keept the option selected and i thought that when i was not choosing a specific folder it would upload it in the year/month default folder, but it does not. Instead it uploads in the general uploads/ folder…
Would be great to correct that and be able to keep the year/month folder when you put file in no specific folder. Or had some options to control that…
What do you think?
Thx
Hi there,
I have bought the premium plugin Real Media Library last week, tested it a bit, and then found this add-on after browsing through the available extensions for the plugin.
After installing this add-on, I have deleted the “virtual” folders which where previously created.
Unfortunately, it does not do anything (I have checked this by looking via FTP on my server).
I have also checked the server permissions and both (uploads and plugin folder) have 755 as permission.
Creating real physical folders in wp-content/uploads is my final goal because I have to manage hundrets of photos.
What can I do to get this to work?
I really need this functionality.
Thanks in advance for some help.

Does this plugin work with Amazon S3?

https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/amazon-s3-and-cloudfront/
I need my /wp-content/uploads folder to be the same as my S3 bucket folder structure.
Example:
/wp-content/uploads/images/thing1.jpg
[S3 bucket]/uploads/images/thing1.jpg
Thanks!
]]>Hi,
I installed this plugin but nothing happened, I can’t see the files uploaded with filezilla…

I have not installed this yet because I have not bought the plugin yet. What I need to know first is if I have to use the Upload folder, or can I choose any folder within the WordPress directory?
