I know that this plugin is not actively maintained but still, since it’s such a time saver I would say that an important issue should be fixed.
I installed my recent local site for testing, and “Plugin Manager” didn’t work anymore. I tried changing Nginx to Apache, lower php version, and finally found the culprit which seemed to be the MySQL version. This site uses MySQL 8 while Plugin Manager works on version 5.
So please check and update your plugin to make it compatible with newer MySQL versions.
]]>Hello, I see that this plugin isn’t maintained no more… Is there any other plugin you can recommend that does anything similar to this (ie. group plugins)?
Thank you!
ps. it’s a shame this plug isn’t going to outlast, it was really useful for me many times ??
Hope you can get back to it, great work ??
Hi,
This plugin gets close to what i was looking for; but alas, not close enough. Your blurb you said this is an answer to too many plugins; but it doesn’t really fully address this issue.
When you currently group your related plugins they remain in the same place (the same list order) – We want to put the items in a hierarchy-type structure i.e. put each group in an accordion container for instance; headed with the group title. When the accordion is opened it shows all plugins within the group. This would save space and truly organise your plugins for better ‘finding’ and management. Since its purely cosmetic its not changing the order in which the plugins are loaded in WP; just the order they appear in the list!
Otherwise this is a decent attempt at addressing a minor core WordPress feature improvement.
]]>1) The plugin often goes slow, and
also generates script warnings.
2) The “Group Create” menu appears on the overlaid on the left dashboard menu.
It is wider than the dashboard menu, and obscures the names and details of the plugins listed on the plugins page.
Maybe consider having enough transparency to be able to read the plugin names in the page behind, or some way to move the plugin listings out to the right of the “Group Create” menu.
3) When creating a new group for a plugin, or assigning a plugin to a group, the plugin that is being worked on is not very prominently highlighted – it could be additionally highlighted by methods like;
a) a color change of the plugin name
b) background color on the plugin name
c) color bar background to the whole plugin details
d) icon in plugin line
After upgrading to WordPress 5.1, many plugins suddenly and randomly became hidden. Unhide does not work. Bulk unhide does not work.
Forced to disable plugin
]]>If wordpress is installed in a subdir, but the site appears on the root of domain then the two variables wp_home and wp_siteurl won’t be the same, and the links generated in the backend by this plugin are wrong.
My patch is in file
plugin-grouper/classes/class-table.php
line 310
substitute ‘url’ with ‘wpurl’
i.e.
$strings[] = get_bloginfo( 'url' );
becomes
$strings[] = get_bloginfo( 'wpurl' );
Hope this makes into the source code.
Thank you
We so need this plugin. I was crushed to see this error when we installed it.
What to do?

Your plugin might be interfering with another one installed. When I am clicking onto any of these categories, WordPress loges me out and presents me to the login page.
Any help please how to fix this?
Many thanks, Val
]]>Hi,
Suggestion;
It would be handy if the description of the group (which is entered when adding a new group), could be displayed just by hovering over a Group’s tab.
Thanks
]]>In the most recent versions of WordPress, the icons for Group, Lock, and Hide are now displayed at 64px instead of 20px on the plugins.php listing page. It appears this is happening because the update-core.php page now displays a 64px square icon for each plugin listed under the Update Plugins section. Can you style the icons your plugin uses separately so that they appear as they used to and take up less space?

]]>Possible new feature to have ;
automatic plugin update management
General Problem
A user may be keen to have the latest plugin updates (and WP,themes,translations).
But some plugins may be critical to the site’s operation and they sometimes require other manual tests and checks to be done, before an update should be done.
So this means that the site can not have various items automatically updated.
Some plugins can be automatically updated, and some may not, and some could from time to time.
Solution
It would be handy to allow the user to assign any of the following (which ever is easiest to implement);
a) mark plugins which should not be automatically updated
b) mark plugins which should be automatically updated
c) mark plugins which can be updated automatically for the next subversions, but not the next main version
d) make a setting to automatically update or not-update all plugins unless otherwise set
e) possibly create a defacto standard for plugins to announce to a WP site, whether the author recommends an auto-update, or if precautions are needed before continuing with an update. So the plugin can over-ride a users setting for an automatic update -for safety.
f) similar settings for translations, themes, and wordpress (but these are probably presently beyond the scope of this plugin – though may also be not too difficult to expand to).
I hope some of these are of interest.
Thanks
Hi, When install plugin i used “inspect element (Q)” to view running code
I found bug as following:

Hope to hear from you soon!

]]>Hello and thanks for you great plugin.
It seems that the problem with plugin-grouper disabling the APPLY button from bulk actions in the plugin list is still there. It’s really annoying to have to hide/unhide (for example) each of the plugins. For the basic bulk actions it could be deactivated but it’d be a real hassle. Can this be fixed?
thank you ??
]]>Hi. The plugin did not available to work at all. old version even better than this plugin.
]]>When the ‘plugins are selected’ for the ‘bulk action’ ‘Group’,
the list of groups that they can be added to (or new one created) appears on the left side.
A group is selected, to which they will be added.
What happens next is, they are immediately added to the chosen group, without needing to confirm that that is the group the user actually wanted to add them to.
a) If a mistake is made, then there will need to be an obvious way to “un-group” from a particular group.
b) A confirmation step would be handy. It might even allow for the addition to more than one group at a time (which would save on the looping of making selections).
I notice that as soon as I call up the color selector,
the browser suddenly goes slow.
The browser seems to sporadically go slow while the color selector box is open.
Thanks
]]>I’ve used this great plugin for a couple of years and have found it very useful. It seems some of the changes that have been made to it are now interfering with my Bulk Actions – Apply button. Nothing happens now when I try to use this unless I deactivate Plugin Manager.
Any ideas?
]]>Hi,
Thank you for this excellent plugin I have used since its inception.
Since version 6.0.0 however, it does not work on my local development installation.
When transferred to the staging server, with a plain domain name, the plugin works again.
Best,
Stephen
I’ve used all the colors and do not wish to duplicate any. Can you add more colors, please…?
]]>Hello,
We are running WP 4.8.1 on PHP7.0 .
We did a scan of this plugin using PHP Compatibility Checker, and found some possible incompatibilities, shown below.
We have supplied these to you in case there is a problem.
If these are a problem, and you know that this plugin is fully compatible with PHP7, then it would be helpful to add this plugin’s name to the PHP compatibility whitelist.

Looking at the page layout for the plugins list display, the Groups are sort of mid-way down the header part of the page.
When a plugin group is selected, the order is;
1) “Plugins: (name of selected group)”
2) Dashboard Notice (displaced to right, to align with right end of name of selected group above)
3) Gear Icon (settings adjuster)
4) All the Group tabs
5) Bulk Actions and Search – bar for the selected group.
An improved layout based narrowing down on point of interest, is;
2) Dashboard Notice (at top, full width available)
A) (optional extra) a Title formatted similar to (1) “Plugin Groups”
4) All the Group tabs
B) (optional extra) a Bulk Actions bar – for acting on “Groups”
1) “Plugins: (“in the”) (name of selected group) (“group”)”
3) Gear Icon (settings adjuster)
5) Bulk Actions and Search – bar for the selected group.
Additional features for visual cueing ;
i) 1) “Plugins: (“in the”) (name of selected group) (“group”)” , can be displayed in the same color as its group tab.
ii) The group tab, that currently has its plugins listed below, can be highlighted (e.g. colored border, or colored background).
Is there a way to change the color of a group, after it has been created?
All the groups that were made before the update that introduced the “color picker”, presently have no way to get a color set for them.
It looks like the only time the color can be set, is when the group is created.
If there is no way to change the color after the group has been made, can this Topic be handled as a feature request please?
Thanks
]]>1a) There could be a Function to make a Group (or “Set”) of Groups.
This would allow the bulk handling of groups that handle tasks, to be bundled in to sets for broader or more specific purposes.
Groups can belong to more than one set.
1b) Maybe permission for access to groups or sets can be based on the User authority.
e.g. sets for beginner, intermediate, advanced
e.g. sets for site performance, article creation, media management, shop management, news, etc
2) A convention for plugins could be started, whereby their are suggested topics for sets and groups (beginning with the classification system on the WP site), so that when a plugin is installed, the user can choose if it will also be automatically assigned to some default groups (that the previous users have commonly assigned them to).
]]>It would be really handy to be able to save & load lists of plugins and groups of plugins.
Then be able to export and import these lists.
And be able to share these lists and upload them to shared repositories.
This way, users can share a “kit” of plugins that they have found to work well together, and help complete tasks.
This would make it really quick to configure a website for any type of use, right at the start.
It would reduce the loading of multitude plugins, to just a few clicks.
Suggestion;
The new tab like display for the plugin groups, could be adapted so that each tab also acts as a drop down menu that displays a list of the plugins in that group.
]]>It would be handy to be able to highlight a group,
if at least one of the plugins in a group has an update available.
This means that it is very easy for the user to see if they need to update respective plugins, before working with a group, or if the updates can be left till later.
]]>hello and thank you for a very useful plugin.
i’d like to ask how can i rename (or otherwise delete) a group of plugins i’ve created?
congratulations and great work!
]]>When viewing a list of a group of plugins,
then deactivate one of those plugins,
the view exits to the full list of all plugins.
It would be more convenient to return to the list of the group of plugins.
This makes it easier to work with a group of plugins.
No need to keep navigating back to the group list.
There could be a user setting for the default action so the user can choose which way they want this to perform.
