After years of wanting this, I stumbled across it by accident. I’m SO glad I did! I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

Does exactly what it says. Can’t live without it.

Plugin Notes Plus is a great tool to help yourself (and any other administrators) remember why a particular plugin is installed, how or where it is used, or if there are any things you want to keep an eye on with a plugin. Of course, you could also create a spreadsheet of installed plugins and add notes to it there, but that is much more cumbersome to keep up to date.
Because Plugin Notes Plus adds a column on the Plugins page itself, you can see all the relevant information at a glance. IMHO, this plugin is quite indispensable.

Going back to sites after an absence I nearly always wonder why a plugin is installed. No longer! Brilliant in concept and so easy to use.

Extremely helpful plugin! But guys, can you please update it so it can be compatible with latest WordPress version?

Does one thing and does it well.
Thanks!

I was about to build something like this and was thrilled this plugin not only existed, but is very well done! Thank you!

Finally, a fully maintained replacement of aging and abandoned original plugin “Plugin Notes” by Mohammad Jangda
I recommend to use filter to display notes beneath the plugin description and not in a separate column.

Very useful plugin to note why a certain plugin was installed on the site and any additional context around it, for other admins. Helps in housekeeping especially when there are more than one admins that try different plugins and forget to remove anything that is not wanted.

So many times I went to go update a plugin and forgot I didn’t because the update was broken. This plugin allows me to add notes to remind me of why! Perfect

Crucial to know what each plugin does. Else it becomes a clutter of plugins, not even knowing if you still need them. This plugin reassures me by letting me know what each plugin is doing on the website.

This plugin is simple, lightweight, and effective. And it is highly needed functionality. Whether you are writing notes to yourself so you do not forget or leaving notes for a client, this is the answer.

I was just thinking – wouldn’t it be great to add notes to plugins, then i’d know why I or other admins added plugins.
Next thought; if that doesn’t already exist we are making it.
I rarely leave reviews as I’m too busy, but this is an essential plugin, especially for agencies, designers/devs & admins.
The problem with unused plugins is ubiquitous – this is a simple and elegant solution.
Once I’ve tested it thoroughly I’ll be adding to our base build.

So simple, but brilliant. I make note of every plugin in use (and where). That makes it easier in the long run to decide if something is being used. Worked great on a multi-developer sight so we knew who was adding what, and why.

There is nothing better than a simple plugin that does exactly what it says and nothing else! I wish every person who built a WordPress site used this to leave behind notes documenting decision-making, dependencies, license sources, etc. It is so helpful, and using this is a gift to your future self and the person who takes over a site should you move on.

Not compatible with WP 5.6
So bad ??

It stopped working after updating to WordPress version: 5.6

Thank you!!! I needed this plugin so badly to track and organize my plugins. It was hard to find through Google searches because it would show other plugins to do notes, not a plugin for plugin notes! ??
It still works with latest WordPress. Very very happy to have found it. Thank you again for providing this plugin for the community!

Brilliant. Thanks for this.

I am loving this plugin. A MUST HAVE for all my sites. I especially love the ability to set a level of importance so it can really stand out. Great job!

Especially when administrating several WP blogs, it’s easy to lose track of what plugin is where for what reason. And what was the name of the plugin that actually did a stellar job at what I wanted it to do? And why is this seemingly needless set-and-forget plugin integral for the overall function of the site?
This plugin adds a column to the admin area so you can directly add a note onto the plugin list to say why is this annoying-looking thingamabob here cluttering up my plugin list… and why you can’t delete it even though it looks annoying. ??

Very smart and useful plugin. Great minds think alike.
Thanks so much for creating this.

UPDATE 1/24/2022
This fantastic plugin has been working for us for years now. I am so glad the author has made an update for more people will use it.

We all have WordPress websites with too many plug-ins. This plug-in helps you to understand which plug-in does what. Very basic – but extremely helpful. And beautifully made.
